Dear Eric Bobrow, this very tab has been waiting for me for about 4 days. Can't really say I remember correctly what I first saw back then but I certainly applaud your skills and performance. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your fast reply. I have to admit once again that your videos are amazing! Unfortunately I cannot afford to buy full dvd course but I have learnt a lot from what I could find on youtube. Yesterday I found some methood of making a new door/window type and saving it as a new gdl object. It stardet working more or less. I just have to find a way to control the position of door panel. Now I see that anything I want to have in my walls should be a kind of parametric thing :) Thank you!

Eric Thank you for this demonstration. It makes so much sense. I can't wait for your Best Practice sale again. Qiuck Start edition is great too. I'd recomend them to anyone who is using AC.

At around 17:00 you explain splitting slabs in different elements. This is a strategy I am using a lot to get clean intersections between walls and slabs. However, with the new energy evaluation, ArchiCAD expects all walls, slabs and roofs to be modeled as a single composite. I want to make only one model and not a separate one for energy evaluation. I tried cutting the floor finish with the upper wall (placing base elevation just above the main structural slab).

At around (14:00) you talk about removing a problematic line in the elevation. In our regional template, priorities are based on skins (in the composite structure) and the main wall priority is at zero. Changing priorities might solve it in one place, but can generate a new problem in other places. When asked, our local distributor hinted at using a small column using the same materials, to clean this up (and hide it for the sake of information extraction in other views). Any advice?

Nice work Eric! I've been enjoying a lot your lessons, but I have a question and I'm not finding the answers.. Do you have any tutorial talking about how to work with multiple stories that repeat themselves? ( In portuguese we call it "pavimento tipo", something like Type Story). If don't, can you point me in some directions? Thanks a lot for your tutorials

Thanks a lot for your videos here! It helps a lot to understand how this program works. The one thing I still struggle with and I can't find an answer of it is related to SEO method. Let say I want to have a custom shape opening in my wall. I used a triangular custom shape wall to cut out a hole in my wall using SEO method. Why I cannot see the dashed lines of what is still above in the floor plan?

Thanks Eric - I found your tutorial very informative and you explain things very well. I have a question though: you say 'in Master Template we have a huge number of parts you can eye drop'... is this Master Template something that anyone can access (and if yes, any direction would be great) or have you created this yourself? Thanks again for your tutorial.

Eric, these videos are great - Jared put me on to these & as I'm thinking of moving from AutoCAD on Windows to ArchiCAD on Mac (fed up with Windows crashing). Do you have a UK specific Master Template as the methods of construction differ considerably? Also, I don't see any drainage shown on any plans anywhere? Could you show a full set of drawings even in pdf to see what is possible? Thank again. Paul

    Using ArchiCAD 18.
When trying to edit the wall composition: (@ approx 5.25 min)...
I am going to 'Floor Plan and Section' drop-down....
...no 'Structure' sub-section on my version.
Can this have been accidentally disabled, or has it been removed from the drop-down in this version?
I tried by opening a new document to see if it was a document linked error.

Hi eric, questions again, i got some problems about the face of the exterior wall. For the exterior wall, the color for different sides is slightly different from each other in 3d view but no differences in the 2D plan. it seems the yellow side face to the exterior and the white faces to the inside space. so how can i draw the exterior wall correctly in the plan view, and if i make it wrong, how can i change the color
