Another good video mate! I see this lesson so much in the real world. For example, you go to a casino and spend time on a slot machine. You get a few nice wins totalling up to $1500 so you keep playing because a voice in your mind asks "Why stop now?" This makes you think quitting while you are ahead will prevent you from getting more wins and if you keep playing you might even hit the jackpot. So you keep playing only this time you don't get as many wins as you did before and soon every pull of the lever results in a loss. You become desperate because you have lost half of what you won. Instead of quitting and talking home $750, you keep feeding the machine until all of your coins have been devoured resulting in your evening ending as a bust. This is a common scenario that plays out in casinos and is a good illustration of why it is important to quit while you are ahead.

Play chess as a hobby. Often I’ll have a few matches against equally or lesser skilled opponents. I feel nothing in my victories against them, no elevation, no great joy- nothing. In succession of victories each is like a step taken with my sense of balance undisturbed. Against such opponents even a loss merely inconveniences me emotionally. However… when I face a strong opponent the anticipation itself is exhilarating, the victory intoxicating and the aftermath DANGEROUS. After beating such an opponent I feel like a Chess God. I feel like Eddie from Limitless; anticipating all things, seeing all things and processing on a level beyond mere mortals capabilities… After such a feeling I’ve gone to lose as many as 20 online match in a row… back to back… each loss delivered by weaker players and peers. Each loss… a reminder that feeling has no place on the board. Mind this video’s advice.

Just watched Legend, and from the get go, I was thinking that all these stories ever end one way. Interesting that you came up with that video on the same hour I finished.
Yeah it definitely is an interesting concept! There are loads of things we can learn from gangster characters, but it would be naive for me to not cover why they all inevitably crash and burn in the end 🔥 Hope you enjoyed the video Alex 💯
The problem, as I see it, is being ambitious is a limitless sky. There is no “enough” or “contentment”, only “more more more”. An ambitious person would have to abandon ambition and become more Stoic to be “successful “ and perhaps the REAL Lesson is to pursue only what one needs. An outstanding example of this is Flip Wilson. He maintained the same standard of living at his height of wealth and fame (1st Black with his own show and movies etc) that he maintained when he was not well known.

Let me just add another story for this law cz the exact same thing happened to Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo......Felix comes from nothing he starts his career as a cop as one of the bribed copes that protect a sinaloan gangster but he biulds an empire of marijuana out of Rafael Caro Quintero's weed by forming the federation by uniting all the plazas and forming a command chain- him being at the top then when the colombians fall into crisis due to high seizures through the carribean corridor ,Miguel who had already set up a much safer corridor by bribing the most powerful politicians including the minister of defense and uniting the plazas jumped to this oppurtunity and convinces the colombians to even cut him 50 of the coke that moves through Mexico. Miguel, according to the show_narcos Mexico is a very careful and calculative man and doesn't agree to the abduction of enrique camarena(a DEA agent who was after him for so long) but even when the mexican govt officials trick Rafael Caro Quintero into taking camarena ,Miguel turns crisis into an oppurtunity once again and uses the tapes from camarena's interrogation (the recordings had names of mexican officials involved with drug traffickers)to blackmail the commander who catches him fleeing. But Felix began to scale up after he secured his power by making the party win the election,as time passed arrogance got the better of him and the once rational man just became ambitious too ambitious as to not to think of the consequences of his actions. He lost the favor of the plaza bosses, even to the point where they tried to murder him,but once they knew he was vulnurable it was them who called the shots, made the deals in their favors,at some point he let the arellano Felix brothers(bosses of Tijuana) murder cochiloco(popular boss in sinaloa) ,this made him appeaar needy in the eyes of Tijuana and a coward who can't protect his plazas in the eyes of sinaloan. Miguel's madness continued he moved 70 tons over night, tipped the DEA to find 17 tons of colombian coke that belonged to Pacho(his supplier from cali cartel),had Hector palma's(the sinaloan drug Lord) family killed, claimed they were nobody without him,but his madness did not inspire fear but mistrust-all the bosses wanted him gone. Yes Felix had lost control over his emotions,he was no longer trafficking drugs he was cutting the colombians out of bussines. Finally the plaza bosses had had enough each plaza pulled out of his federation and he was arrested. ........................... The same thing happened to pablo escobar when he became too ambitious and run for the presidency of colombia. Before then only law enforcement knew pablo as a drug dealer he had a clean record and was constantly helping the poor building hospitals schools etc.He was pulling in more than 60 million dollars a day.But that did not seem to satisfy pablo he wanted to become the president,he went too far and he paid with his life.

Great vid but I disagree, Tommy Shelby didn’t have a choice in season 5 Oswald came to him. Using the billy boys to attacking business, so he had to do what he does best And Frank Lucas wasn’t flash his wife bought him the expensive jacket as a gift and his cousin snitched on him was the only reason he was caught. Ghost was killed by his own son which is messed up but he stopped drugs and was going legit, you can’t stop your own family from attacking you Only Tony Montana messed up the 47th law when he went to war with Sosa.
Interesting insight you have! 🤔 My thoughts are Tommy put himself in that position when he decided to get into politics. Politics is probably the most darkest and murky game there is, and he may of underestimated what it took to succeed in that world. Even though Frank's wife bought him the jacket, it was HIS decision to wear it. He went against his own principles of being quiet and laying low, as he may of felt a sense of superiority because of his success. That one event put a lot of eyes on Frank Again with Ghost, similar to Tommy, he thought that he could just get away scott free without any consequences of his actions. The fact of him winning against so many enemies caused him to feel untouchable, espically from even his own family members Just a quick overview of how I view things 💭
I’ll say Ghost was trying to escape his past and got out of the drug game! He wanted to go legit but the street life kept on brining him back in! His punk ass son was just immature and delusional!!
