Who provides the tablets/ipads to the attorneys or do they provide their own? Are RT reporters the same as close captioning reporters? Thank you for this video. Im a new voice writing court reporting student.
Fantastic videos! I'm considering a mid-life career change after being in the medical field, and am strongly considering court reporting. Thanks for this information!!
wow this is a profession I would've never thought I'd be interested until you started talking about it. I do love to type and I have to admit I absolutely knack for hearing. Ok I have to admit I love to eavesdrop when we are out having dinner for example lol! Basically what I'm trying to say is I have a knack for understanding people when they have a thick accent, speak softly (I love to be that old lady that eavesdrops lol) etc. .Who would've ever thought my odd skills could potentially land me a gig that pays more than what I'm making now ! I can't wait to watch more from your videos . Thank you Melody!
Hi, if it doesn't take up too much of your time, I have a couple questions regarding captioning and court reporting. I'm looking into becoming either a court reporter, a broadcast captioner, or a cart provider. I have some transcription experience. However, I heard something along the lines of you do not need to be able to perform real-time to be a captioner or court reporter. Is this true? The way I would have to perform my job is through voice writing. I know that for captioning it makes no difference whether you write on a stenograph machine or by voice. However, for court reporting, it makes a tun of difference in individual states. Do you know if California is one of the states that allows voice writing? Anyway, thanks for your time! By answering this Comment, you have provided significant assistance to me, and it is greatly appreciated. all the best. ColeAndIlia
You sepeak very fast :) 1. What's the speed of you speaking? 1. If you turned out at the court as a witness - would it be difficult for a court reporter to follow such a speed?

Quick question. When you were writing at 225 was that QA? I just didn't see you hit and question bank so I was curious :)
