Might want to prefill your oil filter to prevent a dry start, cheep insurance. Nice job…

Thank you for this helpful video. A big thank you again for taking the time to show me and my son around your awsome van and all the information you gave him. ( I think the awsome list goes - #1 - The 1981 VW Westfalia #2. - Things like Mt St Helens. )

Oil on filter O ring also provides an easy spin on and tear prevention. I reserve the word 'awesome' for things like Mt. St Helens.

Curious why you use 15w40 vs 20w50? Guess i have no clue what your climate is like.. Ever tried the mahle oc 28 oil filter? Apparently it's the best. Only filter that won't leak on me. Beautiful Westy btw!

Hey Ryan, my engine is a rebuild and seems to like the 15/40. All the local van mechanics will tell you 20/50 if your van is a bit higher on the km side for sure. I'm in BC and we had a pretty intense summer, I'd be curious to run 20/50 next year to see the difference. Will check out the oc 28 for sure. No leaking for me with the Mann though.
