When sizing the dual form, if it fits from side wall to side wall is there supposed to be a slight space between the dual form and the cuticle area or should it be flat on the cuticle area like a press on nail would be??

  • @sftraub

    You should use more slip to get a smoother surface so you’re not tapping or smashing your brush to put that kink in the bristles. Pat and glide in a sweeping motion to distribute the poly gel.

  • @tracystarling3280

    Hi! I’m brand new to poly gels and dual forms. I hope you can help me. I cannot figure out, how to flip my nail to do the underside correctly. If I just flip my nails upside down and start trying to spread out the poly gel, my nail comes off. If I put my nail on the table so it doesn’t fall off while I spread it, it gushes out my sidewalls and cuticle area. I can clean that up but then if the nails are a sheer color like you just did, it’s more sheer where I did the clean up. I’m mostly practicing on my right hand, because if I can do my dominant hand, I can do the other. I even bought those gimmick little clips and it gushes out when I put those on my nails. Help me not have a blob under my nails, please! It’s something that drives me a little looney, to feel a blob of something under your nails all the time. Can you do a second dual form on top of another one? Do you have to use gel polish if you want to polish them. I just bought black & white gel polish from Markartt. I can use that on top, right? I still have a lot to learn, appreciate any guidance you can offer.

    Thank you for the video. I just tried my polygel kit for the first time! I’m sad to say I’m discouraged because when I put the polygel in the dual form it won’t stick to my finger. It just keeps lifting..and I followed all the steps to prep my nails before hand. I just don’t understand what I’m missing or doing wrong.

    • @AlexandraDixon
      @AlexandraDixon  3 года назад +9

      Hmm, it definitely sounds like a prep issue. You may need to invest in a dehydrator. Make sure you are taking alcohol and getting all the dirt off your nails. Your cuticles also must be off the nail bed even if you think you don’t see them make sure you push them back. The alcohol will also help dehydrate your nail. But maybe you should purchase a nail dehydrator then do primer and then base coat. Also make sure your nail bed has scratches in it with a file or e drill or the product won’t stick! Let me know if this helps solve your issue. If it doesn’t leave a new comment and we can dig deeper ! ❤️

    • @paulinaeriza5228
      @paulinaeriza5228 3 года назад +2

      Thank you, I have the dehydrator and primer I think the issue might be not filing my nails enough for the proper adhesion. I will try again and let you know how I do.

    How can you flatten out the bottom of the nail without moving the form? Also what if it goes on the skin under the nail because the nail is extremely short? I recently had a bad thumb nail break that is deep in the nail bed so I got polygel to cover the skin.

    Question.. My smaller tubes of polygel are all extremely sticky & stringy, I purchased them from Amazon back in 2021, & God knows how old the kit was before I purchased it. My question is are those tubes useless? Does polygel get old? & the glitter colors are 10 times more stickier & more stringy than solid color tubes. Should I just toss my tubes of polygel?
