Masyn Winn should get some NL RoY votes.
All his numbers are better then Merrill’s
Rookie pitchers need another award. No shot a guy that plays every fifth day deserves ROY over a guy that plays everyday in centerfield…
they need to make it a ROTY pitcher and ROTY position player. it would reward more players and be more fair than having to choose just one rookie cause you’re right it is hard to define just ONE roty.
Well, pitchers have the biggest single game impact of any player. Over the course of the season, yes, a position player's value generally evens out. But even that position player only takes up 1/9th of the PAs for a team. Comparatively, a pitcher who pitches 6 innings on average is involved in a higher % of plate appearances over 5 games than a single position player.
It's not that big a deal. We've been able to balance our comparisons of position players and hitters for over a century.
I personally think Judge is running away with MVP the numbers are just way too insane to deny. The real MVP race will be against Ohtani and Harper in the NL.

i know he won't win RotY, nor am i saying he should, but gavin stone has totally earned the right to be in the discussion in the NL. 9-2 2.73 1.12 WHIP 70 Ks in 89 innings

and he's top 10 in a bunch of other analytics categories.
his WAR is 1.8, which is just outside the top 10 for pitchers.
i get it, skenes is a beast and he's dealing... but any RotY discussion that doesn't include gavin stone, is missing something.
It’s kinda ridiculous that there isn’t a ROY pitcher and a ROY fielder award. How do you compare the two for one award? My vote goes to Jackson

Because nobody gives Cleveland or the little guy the respect they deserve. They aren’t big name or big markets so Cleveland and Ramirez will never get respect.
Ronel Blanco on par with Burnes and Skubal only thing is he missed a couple starts bc of the sticky stuff. Has a no hitter and a 2nd game where he exited after 7 without giving up a hit. Dominated the O's head to head vs Burnes last weekend.
I mean rangers era right now is so much lower than Glasnow. The K separation sure is large but the simple fact of not giving up runs, Ranger has it. And most of his earned runs from yesterday's game were skewed by a clear error ruled a hit
I would even say wheeler 2 over Glasnow. That's me personally
There's no actual way you could seriously compare stats between all the pitchers, and say Wheeler is above Glasnow.

Judge has the same amount of RBI this year as last in 27 less games. Absolutely insane, even as a biased Os fan and Gunnar truther it is tough to argue again Judge.

like a week ago ozuna had 60 something rbi’s and ohtani had like 40 something. now ozunas only saving grace which was because he had more rbi opportunities than ohtani with the bottom lineup batting sub .200 to start the season so now right behind in rbis and will pass him in the next week. it’s just funny cause ppl were tryna glaze ozuna and i called it saying by the ASG ohtani will have blown by ozuna and surely enough passed him in HR like nothing which was a big argument for ozuna fans too lol. wife beater ain’t better than the godzilla

For Ohtani to win MVP...He or any DH would have to hit for the Triple Crown...

I disagree because it’s not like Harper is that elite defensively. If Ohtani does end up leading the NL in most statistical categories I find it hard to not give Him the MVP especially with Mookie out of the lineup

No DH has won MVP and never will. Its absolutely ridiculous. Othani does nothing except hit 4 times a game. Give me a break already. Harper is the MVP and hes gonna win a gold glove at 1B. This dude hates Phillies its shown last 2 playoffs how he acted
To Ohtani all he does he hits is ridiculous. He’s literally the most valuable hitter in the NL and has boiterd a Dodgers lineup without a lot of depth considering Mookie is out of the lineup and the bottom has struggled significantly. If he doesn’t hit the Dodgers will loose it’s that simple. If Harper’s defense truly was this gold glove level defense he would be leading in War in the NL not Ohtani. Let’s not pretend that it’s not a conversation.
If Harper's WAR numbers were better than Ohtani's I would say, Harper it is. But in reality, Ohtani's WAR numbers are much better than Harper's. You can't talk about MVP without WAR in today's baseball!
shohei is on pace to have the higher ops+ by a dh ever so the no dh ever argument doesn't really work. shohei being 20 ops+ points better than harper and being a better base runner is why he has a higher war and has been more valuable.
