I don't have trim tabs on my 2101. I have a counter-rotating Volvo Penta Duoprop (XDP), which doesn't have a listing tendancy under power. I also keep weight distributed evenly. For "pitch" attitude trim, I just use the outdrive trim for best speed/fuel savings. However, I do trim bow up near maximum when quartering through large swells.

Ya, sorry I didn't see your comment till this evening.
21.5' Seaswirl Striper. I've been 80 nm out to sea with it.. which is getting pretty close to max range for a day tuna fishing and having 1/3 reserve upon return. (105 gal tank)

We went 30 miles out of half moon bay last sunday and got 20 fish in 3 hours. we fished right before the pioneer canyon. all around 25-30lbs. a lot of short strikes. meat lines caught a lot of fish.

It's 21.5 ft. It has a 105 gallon fuel tank and thus about 300 mile range. Last year I ran 80 nautical miles out of Santa Cruz past the Davidson Seamount, fished about 6 hours trolling at 7-8 kts, then ran 80 nautical miles back. I had about 25 gallons of fuel reserve remaining. So, for safety, I'd say 80 nm out is about my limit.

80 nm in a 22 ft boat! Crazy but you obviously know what you are doing! I have a 22 ft proline and go out 35 nm but thats all I am comfortable doing at this time. Nice video!

I forgot about that. After watching that segment, I could see it coming. That was a bad setup on my part... rod loaded with the hooks in an Albacore in-line below my chin. That's a good example of what NOT to do when boating a fish.

I love watching your videos. How many pounds is your line and rod setup. Also what kind of bait do you use for the tuna?

I have rather light gear for Albacore Tuna. Except for the rod my friend brought, the rods are spooled with 20 or 25 lb mono. Generally, this does fine for the Albacore.

That's a lot of fish. You can feed a whole neighborhood with that. Thank's for the video and reply.
