In the last week I started seeing a square, arrow, and speed for storms in MyRadar. I would assume this is simply the direction and speed of the storm itself. As the net controller for the Skywarn Program at the National Weather Service office at the University of Hawaii-Manoa Campus, I’ve had this app for years going back to my days when I owned the Apple iPhone 4s. I came here today because we are having severe weather warnings right this moment and I needed to look at MyRadar’s Doppler radar screen to see how bad the weather will be in the next few hours. Thanks Mike for the app overview. Ok, so where is my new Apple iPhone, lol!
Ive used MyRadar for the past couple years and every warning or watch it will alert me and its alerted us in Texas about a tornado warning in the middle of the night and we got in the safe room The next morning we looked at the news and not even a mile away from our house an ef0 touched Down while we were in the safe room It alerts us 24/7 of our location I’m gonna subscribe to MyRadar pro subscription today so I can use the advanced radar and all of that
I've been using this app for a year and never knew there was features other than the live radar on the home screen. Lol. I thought that was useful enough.
You guys should make a MyRadar app for watches! I would pay money to have that available to view on my watch so that I don't have to pull my phone out just to check radar for a second or 2! That would be an amazing thing to help set MyRadar over the competition!
I like the additional feature that I paid for Per-Station (better than a new digital video game to purchase) to study the velocity radar to be on alert for tornadoes.
Hi Mike- I love the app. Still discovering a few things I didn’t know. I like the way the maps can be changed to diff looks . Question???? Can I turn off camera under privacy when not sending a photo or does it have to be on all the time?
How come when u click weather alerts in the layers option it shows u colours but doesnt tell u what the colours mean. How I am supposed to know what the weather alerts are showing if it doesnt specify what the colours are.

I was a pilot for twelve years but have never looked at the aviation layer as it would be no use to me. I simply guessed based on your description in your post. Glad you got your answer. Inquiring minds want to know.
How do I zoom back out? I am using a projector HY-320? When I double tap the ok on it's remote I zoom in but, I can't zoom back out. I have to delete and re-install the whole app. Thanks, Frank.
I very much enjoy this app on both my PC and Phone, but I wanted to ask, why does it only allow 4 favorites on the desktop app and some of my settings, like the lightning settings, are not staying on what I want them to show? I have been a paid customer for quite some time now and I'm trying to get the most out of this app. Also, how many PC's can I run this app on at the same time from my account ? I'm wanting to show multiple displays at one time.
Probably a dumb question, but how do you make the fonts on the map bigger. For we that have poor vision, even with glasses, the fonts on the MR map are TINY. I've heard even people with good vision complain about how small the map fonts are. It's frustrating to be looking at the map and not being able to reference things on it because I can't read the tiny city names. WHY do these have to be so small? It's not like they crowd anything out or cover up anything even if they were even just modestly larger. PLEASE hell me out here with adjusting the map fonts. I've searched high and low for the setting for map font sizes and I just can't find anything that will adjust them. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
I have a question. There is a medium sized storm, and over a particular area, there are multiple blue circles that are overlapping each other. What does it mean?
So I downloaded MyRadar for the PC. All it shows is a weather map, nothing to select (like where fires are). I watch Monkey Werx use it on his videos, hence why I downloaded this. There's zero instructions or places to click to change anything. This is quickly getting to the "I do not recommend this" as this is frustrating. Any help would be welcome.
Y'all should put a slider on where it shows the cloud cover % and as you slide it changes what the % cloud cover might be at that particular time as without that you can't really figure it out the only reason I kind of can figure it out without a Slider is because of those like 6 hour time markings and I've kind of figured out what percent of cloud cover the colors all represent
Is there a reason why I can no longer search for a location? As shown in this video, it used to be that you could click the arrow and then the magnifying glass and search a location, but now the arrow has been replaced by a "My Location" button, and I can't find anyway to bring up the location search bar like I used to?
Tapping the arrow icon, or what was the icon, will show your current location. Arrow icon = My location. The magnifying glass is what you need to use to search other locations.
Clicking on the yellow icon above shuts it off. Don't foget to unlock it first the same way. Does anyone know how to add more than three location waypoints? I'd like to add all 32 nfl stadium locations. Just figured it out. Ignore the 3 dots. Apparently we can add as many waypoints as we want! It adds another dot ea time we add a new tracking location. FYI i'm using MyRadar on a chromebook computer,.

That’s a storm center! It shows the direction and speed at which a storm is moving. Tap on Hi-Def Radar and you should see the option to toggle them on/off.
I turned on something and now my area looks like a psychedelic multicolor trip. It's not heat map because when I turn on heat map it's just all pink this is Arizona after all. So I'd like an explanation of that multicolor bit cuz I don't know what it's telling me.

You CAN pin multiple locations! Once you’ve favorited multiple locations you can swipe left or right on the forecast panel to jump from location to location.
Does type alerts give different notification sounds? Example: Does “lighting” alert have different sound alert from “light rain”? If not shouldn’t they? If you hear same sound tone for rain as tornado you might get complacent and ignore
I loved the MyRadar app but I had to delete it because it was consuming more than 50% of my iPhone XS battery’s daily availability no matter how many features I turned off.
I don't need ANY of those things mentioned in the tutorial. Just bottom line me...can I configure the settings so that the app works to alert me to tornadoes, flooding, severe storms, hail, high winds, extreme temps, etc. ?? That is all I want. The alerts and nothing else.
I'm not in the Hurricane area and I have the notification for Hurricanes turned OFF. Yet the app continues to sent me alerts for Hurricanes. It's really frustrating. I don’t need a tutorial because I’m a weather dork & Doyen! So everything to me is common sense and I know how to work it but I need to know what each mark or symbol means. Example: hurricane 🌀 symbol markers in depth like X colored field areas which I assume means a tropical wave is present Or could be present. Things like that! You know in depth marking along with coefficient, velocity mapping, differential reflectivity and reflectivity… such and such… that’s all
Just go to the upper right corner of the app screen and you'll see a city name there. That is the city that you somehow favorited and the teardrop goes to that favorite when you click the Crosshair symbol at the bottom left of the screen. Just touch the teardrop shape that is in the upper left corner of your screen and the teardrop up there will turn gray instead of bei g bright yellow. The teardrop on the map will disappear. The purpose of the teardrop is for a Home point for the center of the map to go to when you click the Crosshair symbol at the bottom left of the screen. So it's just a Favorite location indicator. You can have as many of them as you want, too. Whichever one your center-screen pointer is closest to when you click the Crosshair symbol is the one that will become centered on your screen. All this makes finding and going to certain points on the map quickly and easily. I really like this feature.
I would prefer that he explain the complicated fee structure. I have paid twice for two incremental updates, and I see no extra features beyond what the free version offers. The fee structure is unnecessarily complicated. No sooner than you believe you have paid for the app, MyRadar hits you again to pay more money for another feature. And there is no documentation to learn how to use MyRadar; just a few sparse RUclips video tutorials, like this one that has distracting unnecessary music in the background.
Help! When I first had my app I would get notices, "Rain beginning in 7 minutes" or whatever. It doesn't do that anymore, somehow I turned it off (?) Anyone know how to turn it back on?

Please consider adding a Backup & Restore feature for Favorite Locations & Settings.
How do I get rid of the place names? I updated and all I can see are the names of everything covering up the actual radar.

Is there ever going to be a Gleason map? I think weather patterns would look pretty cool. We have every other projection except the Gleason.
Forcast panel at top of the screen is gone, disappeared. Why?

Most likely flight levels. Above 18,000 feet altitude is reported in flight levels. 240 would be 24,000 and so on.

I have the pro version of this app on Android... One of the strangest things is there is no search in the Android app. What gives?
