@ it definitely does. We knew we wanted to be finished raising minor children by the time Germaine turned 50 years old. We are right on target as he celebrated his 51 birthday in Kenya. Thank you for the thoughtful comment. Many blessings to you.
I have a lady in Kenya who I'm planning on bringing to the US ..,... "Basically it's serious".….. And plan on making options for the both s priority. But this has nothing to do with what I'm fixing to say I love to listen to you both as well as your ideas However, my comment has nothing to do with that either I'm speaking on the fact of how much I appreciate how well you two communicate with one another before you post That shows the unity of you both. I hold men to a very high standard while I'm a man myself And the way that you two communicate with your viewers shows shows your unity together I just appreciate the fact that it still exists Meaning that one doesn't overpower the other I see a unity.. I'm 49.,. And it shows that partnerships are very relevant and possible Basically y'all are an inspiration to me moving forward to marrying the young lady from Kenya I now feel better with the possibilities of living in Kenya while also having the option of living in the US for us
RE doesn’t always appreciate. In just about every decade we face a recession. Take 2008-2013. I bought my 1st home in 1997. Rates were 7-8%. The difference is everything else wasn’t expensive like now. Now overall in the long run real estate generally appreciates in most metropolitan markets. Where we live in Louisiana homes don’t appreciate by much once you get over a certain price range. We are also relocating to Kenya. I’m here now checking on our construction project. We haven’t decided yet if we are going to sell our house back home or not. We are leaning toward paying the mortgage down as much as possible to make it easier to switch over to a first lien heloc so that if need be we can easily tap into the equity. No property management company is perfect but if you can find a responsive one that is awesome!!
You’re right about property management; a responsive, trustworthy company makes all the difference, especially when you’re overseas. They can help minimize issues and provide some security knowing someone reliable is on the ground to handle day-to-day needs.
@westcoastmediasolutions The thing about property appreciation is also very true in kenya. Some markets in metropolitan areas such as kilimani/kileleshwa for example have already achieved 'fully developed' status and as such prices have either stagnated or in some cases there's been a devaluation because of, among other reasons over-development. So yeah, it's not always the case that prices go up, maybe marginally but not significantly. It depends I guess. I think it was a great decision for them to not sell.
Sounds like you have a very good property manager. Are you able to share their details?that will boost their business especially if it is a black owned business.
Our property manager is hyper-local and wouldn't benefit anyone unless they live in our city in the US. Thanks for the thoughtful feedback and for checking out the video.
Never ever sell your property, especially if you can lease it out. You can also buy a house especially in a gated community, and lease it out when you want to go back home.
As a well-travelled Ugandan 🇺🇬 who speaks English, French and Swahili (in addition to several local languages), I know most Americans are monolingual 😅
Currently 40 million adults living alone in US the highest in history . Housing Demand higher than supply . Housing crisis . At least 125 million single adults US . The highest in history . Living in families typically reduces wastage and increases space sharing, savings and therefore investments .
California, New York and Florida high populations and high real estate value demand hence high prices . Less than 3% Black(45million Black America,5million Black immigrant central/south America, Africa, EU etc) and Hispanic(66million)real estate developers and less than 5% real estate owners .
Don't sell your home in the US. You need a back up plan or refuge. When the kenyan government irks us and we decide to give them trouble, it can become a bit violent. This can make foreigners fear for their lives and decide to go back home, but only for a short while.

You guys look good and relaxed. Not selling was a good idea, you can use part of your rent to mortgage in Kenya.
That’s a potential option as well.
Your decision makes a lot of sense. Germaine and Saidah you look so young its hard to believe you have grandchildren
It’s hard for us to believe sometimes too! But honestly we love it. Thanks so much.

Thank you!
Ask for residency 😊 Africa is your home enjoy it.
We are waiting now for an appointment. The Lord willing we will get approved.
If you are at least 35 years old with a retirement income of at least $2500 you can get a retirement visa in Kenya.

Congratulations brother! Thanks for the kind comments. We really appreciate that!
Great decision way to go for black Americans moving to motherland karibu nyumbani.
Asante sana!
Love your hair Saidah!
Thanks friend! ☺️
Wise decision guys. Love your hair. I would like to hear more about your long term visa process.
Thank you! We have not successfully completed the process so we don’t have any specific information yet. Stay tuned.

You both are looking great, glowing actually ☺️, loving your hair Saidah ❤
Thanks so much. Kenya has been good for my hair and skin. 😆😊❤️
Good planning
We think so too!
Germaine keeps it 100!!! lol
😆
That's one thing I have to weigh out, if I'm going to sell my home or not. And yeah, I have some landlord trauma too - lol
Sheesh! Bad tenants can definitely cause some trauma.
Good decision ‼️🙏

You can get permanent residence in Kenya if you invest at least $100,000 in the country. You can check with a lawyer or Kenya Investment Authority

Be very careful when choosing lawyers though.

Your home in the states can buy you a home in Kenya as you pay a mortgage. 😊
Maybe when we get residency.
@@TravelCheckIns rent it and it will buy you another home in Kenya 😊 now your a global citizen my freinds.
Can you share what is your business? Can you promote it here?
Great question. Unfortunately we are not business owners.
You need to keep your home it is giving you income
We agree. Especially for the time being. Thanks for checking out the video.
I'm just curious apart from English how many languages do you guys speak ?
Just English fluently. We practice Spanish and Swahili.

We have 4 children and 3 grandchildren.
