    Hey Sam, never thought of having something notify me if the power went out. Cool idea with the phone, you were ahead of the curve on that one.

      Yeah the phone was a great solution as Newley everyone has one laying about. Shame google pulled the app :/

    Nice arm swap for the watch. 🤭 It’s the little things you do that make your videos great. Great bits of equipment by the way.

    Cool thanks for the info. Man i have same problem, i also want something to have a siren so if it goes out when im sleeping it will wake me. The only thing i could think of is using a spare apple phone and leaving it plugged in and setting up an “shortcut automation” where when the phone ‘disconnects’ from charging it will then sends a sms or rings your main phone.

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  Год назад +1

      Yeah you can make a battery powered alarm easily enough. Just use a relay off the battery that will connect to a buzzer if the trickle charger/power loses power

    Hello, I bought one of these isocket recently. I have a question regarding how to enable the power alert system. I tried following the manual. I followed step by step but after I enable "POWER ALERT" and when I pull out the isocket just like you did I'm not getting any notification. I hope you can help me with this. Thank you

    • @ParkersReef

      Have you setup the sim card?

    • @pravinrajan4362
      @pravinrajan4362 2 года назад +1

      @@ParkersReef yes i have setup the sim. Im getting notifications for other commands such as temperature rise/drop. but I'm not getting notifications for power alert.

    Do you know if this type of equipment exists in a power board format?
    I spent a long time looking into home automation options with the idea that if any socket or board could provide live data on power being pulled/used, it could help identify issues like broken pumps, stray voltage underpowered or broken heaters. Best I found was live data for "on/off" status which is basically what you've just shown without the sim card

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  3 года назад +1

      Yeah there are boards and sockets that will give you power consumption (both live and for the day/week), but not with SIM cards built in

    A back to base monitored security system let's you know of a power outage.
    Been using that for 20 years.

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  3 года назад

      Via internet? Or via a device like this? How does it detect your power is out?

    • @deathrowinmate28
      @deathrowinmate28 3 года назад +1

      I get a phone call from control centre. 24/7

    • @deathrowinmate28
      @deathrowinmate28 3 года назад +1

      The mains power fails ..... the security system switches to battery and alerts the security company.

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  3 года назад

      How are they alerted though? It must connect via phone line or internet no?
      Also, if just the circuit your tank is on trips (from say a bad pump) do they alert you then?

    This was a great video. I have a Tesla Battery for the fish tank (my wife thinks it is for the fridge etc). I am going to think about how I could have the outage advise my apex to turn off some non-essential devices such as the lights. This would extend the duration of the Tesla battery and perhaps allow me to reduce the battery % I have reserved for an outage. Thanks for the great advice!
