However, regarding Kaprow's performance, there is clearly nothing new or enlighting at any point. Buddhism has been experimenting with meditation and the awareness of the mechanism of breathing for a long time now (roughly 2500 years ago). Being conscious of one-slelf your relation to the outside world has been at the core of Buddhist thought and should be related to this lecture.
