Blackroot Pool was built in the 18th century with the primary aim of powering a watermill. The mill was initially used for leather dressing, but later became a water-powered saw mill.

I can remember when there was a jetty right in front of the vid little boats and canoes in the 70s,and there was a shelter in the far side of the pic
