I think what makes them great is their ability to listen to their customers, make improvements and or change course entirely if necessary. My favorite two of five I have are the A8 and A28 (both USB C).
Something I wish more flashlights with a circuit board and memory functions (especially when they have a lot of functions) did, is having a pc software. That way one can just connect the flashlight to the PC and go into the software to set it up the way one wants. Just set the 1 click 2 click hold functions to what one prefers and just deactivate the functions people don't use or want. So many flashlights are so damn complicated to program, pressing a button 13 times then spin in circles and singing Mamba No 5 while holding the button for 7.3 seconds to save.

Totally agree! Can't understand why manufacturers are lagging behind (it could be due to pure economic reasons of course - someone gotta write a program and some extra circuits do need to be in place BUT I still don't understand why none of the big brands has gone that way). Also, just IMO. Bluetooth capability (would come to good use when using your light as a worklight and so on and I've seen at least one brand with a stand alone wireless remote switch for some of their flashlights).
100% happy with Rovy and their UI.
Been thinking about getting a couple of these as beaters and one for my grandparents

i clip carry the rovyvon a1 daily. i will suggest squeezing the part that clips to the body a bit to create more holding tension, other wise you can knock it out of the clip.

I carry some of my lights on a small "flap" on my jacket so this pocket clip should work perfectly for me but I can see why you had some trouble with it! It seems to be a whole science project for the manufacturers - "the simple pocket clip"🤨

they really should do away with the two button for non side light torches. just too over engineered. its like ordering from a Chinese menu... waaaaaaaaaay tooooo much
great light output tho. would like to see a big brother to the A3 series, and keep the interface standard among them all. side light capable torches need to be their own model line, no an "A" series . the 2nd button should be reserved for the side light only. the website is terrible.
