He shows that he did this tutorial with a small green screen outside... but we creative types like thinking of excuses for NOT doing something to avoid failing.
This is yet another highly-enjoyable tutorial. I have seen other car/greenscreen lessons that were fun for basic shots, but this one added the nuances that separate hobby from pro. One of the new things that I enjoyed learning (that can be used for ANY greenscreen) is your keylight method. I also appreciate seeing "extract" being used.
Hey, thank you so much for the detailed comment! That really helps me to find out if my tuts are too detailed!! I will keep them exactly like that!! 😝😜
This is one of the most helpful videos I've ever seen in my life. I was missing all of those additional steps to bring my car green screen scene to life. I would have never known. Thank you so much!!!
Just got past 2:30 in the video and I subscribed straight away due to your good humble attitude and knowing already you actually know what you're talking about! VERY INTERESTED in this and you bringing this to us is EXTREMEMLY APPRECIATED!!
Actually, these car tutorials along with the train tutorials and the roto masking in the dinosaur tutorial are sufficient for putting live human in cg cars / trucks etc. Thank you again.
well you simply choose parts of the image with straight lines! If there aren't any visible, you can use for example parts that would be connected with a straight line. For example the same edges of the both side windows.
Wow. i just actually discovered your channel and found it very useful for my upcoming project. Thanks to RUclips algorithm. You made it easy to understand :).
Yeah, the front shield is really tricky... most VFX shots simply put stuff on there, like buildings and trees, but if you really watch what would happen, you would mostly have sky and clouds, and they would almost not more at all... so I am with you: really hard to get that right...
Man i just love your videos. Your calm way of explaining stuff is just so nice. I like videos like video copilot but he just so quick I often end up getting lost. Don’t change a thing 🙏🤘
Good stuff. Thanks! Quick tip - no need to go into the graph editor - just right-click on the position to bring up the context-dependent menu and "separate dimensions" is 3rd from the top.
Haha. Thanks for the tipp! Just found it out the other day, while attending adobe MAX! But thanks a lot!! Comes in super handy!! But: is there a way to bring them back together into one keyframeable parameter?
@@flo.motion Yep! Right-click on one of the dimensions again and you'll see there's a checkmark next to "separate dimensions." Click it to turn it off and it goes back to a single array parameter again.
This was a really solid tutorial. Been on the look out for a green screen car tut that is convincing with all the extra details like caustic lighting, shadows etc. I’ll definitely implement the workflow into my own videos.
Immerhin bietest du hier ja alles kostenlos an!
Didn't expect from you to have been working on UMBRE ( Shadows or The messenger or whatever it's called in English ), there was some really high quality VFX. Nice job!
Thats amazing breakdown, mate. We are embarking on a short film production, need some easy way to do lots of in car dialogueso nteh way, this is the way to go, very helpful!
I was legit convince you were really driving in the opening shot. Fantastic work!
Thank you so much! That is the best feedback you can get!!
This actually looks better than in most shows/ movies 🤔
Thanks a lot!! 😆😆
It actually does tho...
Wish I had a old factory where a can install a 20 meters green screen😁
Just drape a 10x20 over da car
Me too!! As you see in my video, you only need a small green screen, and you are good to go and get shots like this done!!
@@flo.motion it's a humble request..... Please upload more nuke tutorials.......
My dad owns old cinema

This is professional level after effects man!
haha... ok!!

Thank you so much!! I will do my best!!
This is one of the most helpful videos I've ever seen in my life. I was missing all of those additional steps to bring my car green screen scene to life. I would have never known. Thank you so much!!!

JEAH!! Thanks a lot for the nice words!! That is EXACTLY the reason why I am doing those tutorials!!
This effect was done better than most blockbuster movies. It was literally perfect! Great work man.
Oh wow... well what shall I say... it is all in the details...
Really? That keying will at best pass as a slap comp in a real movie studio.
Actually, these car tutorials along with the train tutorials and the roto masking in the dinosaur tutorial are sufficient for putting live human in cg cars / trucks etc. Thank you again.
So true!! Thanks a lot for the feedback!!
This is probably the best tutorial for anything that I’ve seen. So thorough and so easy to understand. Fantastic, thank you.
Wow!! That is such a nice comment!! Thank you!!
Better than some car scenes I’ve seen on TV recently.
Haha... but that is indeed not that hard to do!!
This actually looks better than car scenes I’ve seen from bug production movies.
Thanks so much!! I hope you have not seen the old productions i was involved with... 😋😝
The series that makes it obvious it isn't real is The Bing Bang Theory.
what shall I say... true
On my momma they barely tried on the car scenes in The Big Bang Theory
That show sucks.
Wow, crazy attention to detail.
That's how you do a shot!! add 1% of this detail and 1% of that... repeat that a hundred times and you have a 100% perfect shot!!
Oh the extract tool! Wow… I’ve never used that for glass reflections. Thanks man!
11:25 That is a RIDICULOUSLY brilliant idea finding the horizon
I didn't understand how he decided where to make the lines
well you simply choose parts of the image with straight lines! If there aren't any visible, you can use for example parts that would be connected with a straight line. For example the same edges of the both side windows.
Mindblown, really
My goodness, your voice are so soft and gentle!

Says "low budget"
Wish i had a car
Rent one?
believe me, a studio set up or a trailer to film the scene is way more expensive than a car!!
flomotion but cheaper than a lamborghini right?
Saurabh Raj, just edit in the car too :) . Or even use your dads/moms/brothers/sisters/girlfriends/boss's car. I'm sure you'll find something. ;)
U can steal from parking lot

Awesome work dude. My only cc is that the reflection on the front windscreen should pass by faster. Thanks for sharing.

In my early videos I just used green paper in my windshield, and they turned out very well.
Haha... me too... once I had a shoot and nothing green, so we went into the supermarket and bought green gift wrap. Not the best, but it did the job!!
