In this video I'll explain you that RBI is stopping printing of Physical Rupee & Providing E-RUPI or CBDC - Central Bank Digital Currency, Digital Rupee to Indian users.
Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) pilot launched by RBI in retail segment has components based on blockchain technology. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a concept note on Central Bank Digital RUPEE (CBDC) on October 7, 2022. The Digital Rupee or eINR or E-Rupee is a tokenized digital version of the Indian Rupee, to be issued by the Reserve Bank of India as a central bank digital currency. The Digital Rupee was proposed in January 2017 and will be launched in the 2022-23 financial.
e-Rupee is legal tender, not a payment medium. For digital rupee users, SBI has allowed Rs 1 lakh holding limit for the wallet. Users can load or unload up to Rs 25,000 per day, as per the website.

I think UPI is more success just because in upi we don't have to keep change of money we can transfer minimum 1rs. through upi but E-rupi comes with disadvantage of keeping change of small denomination just like physical currency. Expenses become less as compared to upi in e-rupi.

मैं उत्तर प्रदेश का निवासी हूं अनेक गांवों-कस्बों को जानता हूं जहां चार से पांच घंटे बिजली आती है, बीच बीच में बिजली कटती भी रहती है।
मोबाइल बैटरी चार्ज करना भी दूभर हो जाता है ।
18 घंण्टे गांव में बिजली देने का दावा है बिजली पांच छः घंटे भी नहीं मिलती है ।
किसानों को समय पर खाद बीज नहीं मिलता है ।
सिंचाई के लिए बिजली कटौती के कारण बिजली आती नहीं है ,। आती है तो लो वोल्टेज के कारण पानी की मोटर लो वोल्टेज से चलती नही है ।
किसानों की आय दुगना करने का सपना ही रह गया है ।
I think it will fail because in UPI even we can select / decide how many paisa we want to send. If it is convert in note type system the physical money change will effet digital money change

Digital rupee rollout is a great idea and should overcome a lot of headaches that come with physical currency. However, the govt should also think about including foreign workers and tourists in this ecosystem in order to increase tourism revenue and to avoid the need for creating exceptions in the system.
Initially every person will have get digital currency thro banks only. Foreign tourists on reaching India will have to get their currencies converted into ruppes( digital) and then can easily use it like local person. When our all digital currency is used we have to recharge it from our bank account.Any excess amount in our wallet can also be redecorated in our bank account.

Hey sid, when you say all the cost is saved its not like that rbi need to invest heavy money in developing and enhancing the software. Also the server cost will be very high as tps is very High.

Bar bar failure /technical issue is vajhse transaction ka ek sar dard hogaya hai. paisa deduct hota hai lekin end user ko milta nahi to bar bar customer care ko fon karna padta hai refund milega ka nahi dar hota hai. Aur unnecessary amount block hota hai surplus paisa nahi hoga to bechara fas jata hai
