She is one of the few newcasters who I felt was actually a good soul... Her story is just amazing and she is a true human being with a heart... God Bless her.
She Spoke so well.. so many positive inputs to take away from this.. Prayers for all the beautiful souls taken away so tragically that day. And healing prayers for their families 🙏🏼
I got chills listening to this, I’ve watched Deborah Norville since she was on Chanel 5 in Atlanta in the 70’s. Great story God bless the victims, their families and the survivors. ❤️🙏💪🇺🇸
@@sian2337 I was a kid maybe 15 or so when she was on our news and was dating Harmon Wages who was the sportscaster at the time and a former football player.. sorry may have been early 80’s, she was very young.
I respect ms norville so much more. She is very articulate and caring and gives great thought and insight of others. I’ve only seen her on her program and that is a work persona. This is a wonderful enlightening project. Many blessings to you and your work.
I could so relate to you being frightened by the jets. I arrived in NY by train during a heavy thunderstorm the night of Thursday the 13th. I was a volunteer construction worker. Friday morning I stepped outside to have a smoke while waiting for the rain to lift. Suddenly I heard the roar of jet engines coming in very low and fast. Nothing was supposed to be flying! I thought the worst and was about to dive for cover, but for some reason looked up instead. I saw the twin tail and dual jet engines that I recognized as an F-15. When my heart stopped pounding, terror turned to joy knowing the Air Force had our backs. I was surprised you knew the jets over DC were F-16s. I read about the combat air patrols later.
Both F-15s (C models) and 16s were being used as alert aircraft; it depended on the base and also whether they were active duty or ANG/USAFR owned. The continued to fly CAPs in shifts for 2 years.
I appreciate these videos a lot. The impact of that day was incredibly broad and deep. It is a great sorrow to me that we've become so divisive since then. Still, no one can undo the courage and compassion that were displayed in our nation during and after 9/11.
I had no idea Deborah Norville was also a Sunday School teacher in addition to hosting Inside Edition and giving public speeches. Quite the multitasker!!
Deborah's always seemed like such a nice person and professional reporter (remember her from nbc 5 Chicago and speaking at my college in 90s). Thank you for sharing your unique perspective from that day.
Thanks so much for sharing your story, Deborah. I'm also a Deborah. I wish I could hug, Hope. My brother passed away at age 15 from, Duchesne muscular dystrophy. God bless you. ❤
The 'Windows on the World' man must have felt deep unease about his circumstances. To escape death like that is obviously a relief but it would bring many deeper thoughts and realizations with it. "Survivors syndrome" is not an appropriate phrase to describe the spectrum of emotions he must have experienced.
I always found Ms. Norville a very likable media-personality (and attractive), _unlike too many others._ Now I know why! --- _What a lovely woman she is._ --- I think I understand; makes sense now, having been blank on her personal life previously to this video: 1) she was a mother, and 2) a woman of faith, --- in the "news" business, --- and so appears she is a thoughtful and kind-hearted lady. 🌸
I feel for the people stepping off planes that had been grounded, then seeing what happened on the news. I don't remember when flights started back up and people could go back home...
Gosh... I bet Larry Silverstein was grateful his wife made him go to that dermatologist appt that day. He would have been at windows on the world. I bet he's also grateful that neither his son or daughter were there either. Lucky Larry. There were soany people however, that were there on their first day of a new job. So sad. But lucky for Larry. Lucky lucky Larry.
One thing I find interesting is that when people live through a catastrophe they thank God for sparing their lives! Well I think it's your faith in God that gets you through rather than God standing there saying who's going to live or die! I just don't believe in a punishing God that way. Life is just faith! Your belief in God your faith will get you through life and death. At least in your time of death or life God is your guiding light.
I am an atheist. As such, I am very glad that the supernatural stuff, claims of divine intervention are very unlikely to be true. Because if they were, the idea is in Christian theology is that God sent to 19 terrorist to kill 3000 people but not your friends. So he’s worthy of praise? That’s just insane. There’s no way to negotiate any of those elements in a way were some wine is outlining a benevolent, merciful God. And before anyone starts, no! The great mysteries is usually what comes up next when I hold Christian to task. The idea that it may be something that was required to happen in order to have something else good happen. That’s all hypothesis. The idea that some people are worthy of living, and 3000 people get to die? Survivors guilt? Trying to reconcile the great mysteries of religion to make it all sound reasonable? If you ask me, not having a tragedy at all, in fact not having tragedies at all sounds more reasonable. If God can stop evil and decides not to, that’s not merciful. If he can’t stop evil, like he’s unlikely you’re an able to? Then he’s not very powerful. It’s never made any sense to me. The only religion I’ve ever seen that made any sense, doesn’t have the metaphysical, supernatural elements as a linchpin is Buddhism. But that doesn’t require a God. That’s probably why it makes sense and a general way. So praise God for not killing me and killing 3000 people I don’t know instead. Ridiculous
Always have to roll my eyes after any disaster when a Christian is declaring that they prayed and the Lord saved them... the neighbour's dead one year old didn't pray loud enough then?
Debra was BEAUTIFUL when she first got her big break on TV. . WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED GIRL? Too much Alcohol or Drugs? You Need to See a DOCTOR ASAP. . You definitely need either Fake Jesus BAD or DETOX IMMEDIATELY 🙁😳
She is one of the few newcasters who I felt was actually a good soul... Her story is just amazing and she is a true human being with a heart... God Bless her.
I was working in Denver and my boss got a call because her niece worked at the world trade center and my boss lost her niece on 9/11
"You don't move on. You move forward." That's perfect.
I’ve also heard a widow say that- a widow of a fireman. It could possibly be the very same woman she is referring to.
She Spoke so well.. so many positive inputs to take away from this.. Prayers for all the beautiful souls taken away so tragically that day. And healing prayers for their families 🙏🏼

Absolutely love the concept of taking those memories with us as we move forward. #neverforget

She is a great journalist.
Always liked Deborah.Great journalist,and absolutely gorgeous.😊
Pls tell the stories of 9/11 victims
exactly
This one compared to just about every other one of these I’ve heard, is not compelling at all. She really loves herself, so there’s that.

Amen Brother Preach ON 😊

❤🇺🇲💙
If GOD is such, why did he let 3000 of his kids die?
Well we do know one thing, that they are in a better place. Bless them all. 🙏🙏

This woman should be re-named "me me me", oh and a little bit more "me"
She’s supposed to be telling HER personal story about HER personal experience on 9/11 so that’s why she’s talking about “me, me, me”
Oh no, how will she ever do her television show. 🙄
Me me me me me
It's her story. Just like anybody else's, it's told in the 1st person!
You sound like such a horrible unhappy person. I feel sorry for you.👿
Weirdo
Was? I thought she looked great in this video
She looks fabulous, you don't realize her age.
good story
