- There's lots of designer bags that I love BUT that must also mean that there's lots I'm not a big fan of so here are the 2023 designer bags that I'm not buying and why. These designer bags have a variety of reasons as to why I'm not taking my card out to pay for these and we have features from Saint Laurent, Gucci, Loewe as well as what will probably be the hottest Chanel bag launch....ENJOY!

With the current rate that they’re churning out bags, it’s almost as if their goal is to become fast fashion brands for people with stupid money 😕
That is exactly what they are 😂. Except for Hedi Slimane. He is the only free thinker of luxury fashion.

I absolutely adore 🥰 my Picotin. It holds so much, and gives the illusion that I’m a small bag person. 😂 And you don’t have to be precious about it. It was my first luxury bag purchase 7 years ago and still looks like I bought it yesterday. It really proved to me that a luxury bag can be a useful purchase that you don’t have to baby.

The pink star bag is giving Kirby’s dream land (yeah, i’m this old, haha). I agree with you on the horsebit clutch, Cassie - the vintage versions are way juicier than the re-edition. Honestly IMO when brands relaunch their classics, I feel that they either tweak them a bit too much or not at all and the Stam bag is the perfect example of the latter.
I like that Loewe bag, I have a bag in a similar shape and it's so practical for when i'm out and about or even to take to work.

Off topic comment, but I just want to say thank you for sticking to being a luxury content producer and not falling for awful sponsorships. I am so tired of seeing all these BS clothes/jewelry brands (yes, I'll name names-Goelia/Lily Silk, Idyll, etc etc.) and content creators pushing them. I don't watch the video installment and it leaves me a really rancid indisposed feeling toward the channel. Thank you for rarely doing a sponsorship or feature and when you do it's truly a luxury related one (Farfetch/Lux dept stores, your jewelry collab, vintage/resale stores, etc. those are awesome).

The Chanel 19 is just quilted stitching whereas the LV one is the stitching and then leather piping stitched over that. The result makes it look more like grill lines on meat rather than a bag.

The Loewe squeeze reminds me of a Fossil hobo(ish) bag from 10 years ago I have in my wardrobe (but more grown up and practical) maybe I'll be inspired to drag the old thing out this winter.

The Row’s Banana Bag kinda reminds me of Uniqulo’s dumpling bag, or at least it’s trying to be that bag. There’s a new leather (or faux leather?) version now, too.
It like the younger, posher, and more sophisticated cousin of that bag, which is probably why it is irritating. Uniqulo has Babybels ror an afternoon snack, but The Row has cubes of aged cheddar or something
Side note:I think I’m going to cave this december and get myself a dupe of that uniqulo bag (there’s a department store version that is half the price) 😆

I totally agree about the LV!!!! Something about the quilting on the GO-14 gives me the ick. I don't mind quilting 99% of the time, but something about it... 😵💫
You can never go wrong with Tom Ford era Gucci. I totally agree with this list. Ah! The Stam was a moment in time and it does look a bit dated. I’ve thought about purchasing it years ago on the vintage market but I couldn’t even justify the $250-300 price point because it does look dated 😩
Yes! I was thinking the same thing of the banana bag…Uniqlo! And there was a version of the LV Go 14 that looked like a ham!😅
But where would the top handle go on the star bag? If it goes over the central point, then the handle needs to be really tall otherwise there's no room for your hand. Similarly, this can't be a shoulder bag. So crossbody it is? I agree with your sentiment that a star is an inconvenient choice of bag shape.
I totally agree with you 100% This might not be important to anyone but 10 years I was close to a Burberry outlet and got a beautiful bag,wallet with quilted fabric and leather, I think the bag was abt 350..and wallet abt 175...they are still like new and modern,they had sandels,raincozts,shirts ect. So if you don't mind they came from outlet,you save quite a bit,they are Burberry. Great video ❤❤❤❤
Do you know what that Louis Vuitton bag made me remember? Those Christmas meats that are tied with kitchen twine before roasting...like glazed ham or beef tenderloin. Weird design for sure.

I do like the Loewe bladder bag although now that image is forever in my mind. And lastly, yes to a vintage horsebit and no to the new ones.

Personally, and just thinking out loud here....I wouldn't accept any of the bags listed here even as a gift....much less buy them! However, I am glad that there are ladies who would/will buy and even love them too....

Hi Cassie, thank you for your video ❤ I agree with you about the LV quilted bag - as soon as I saw it I thought "this looks like toy version of the Chanel bag".
Valentino did something similar, but it's quite cheaper, so I understand is someone likes a Chanel but they cannot afford it they might go for the Valentino one - but what about LV? The cost is similar, but it looks much more tachy and "coarse", like a cheap imitation... just my opinion of course😅
It's the kind of bag that's been designed by a Committee. So it's got no coherence or flair. It's trying way too hard and still failing. It won't even wear well because it's just lambskin. Also that tape effect that's stitched down just looks bloody awful. It's like a Chesterfield lounge, it's annoyingly complicated and not even good functionally. Eventually its gizzards will spill out and everyone will feel so sorry they bought it. Meh!
I will admit the chanel silver star i would like to own as a fun bag but im not willing to spend that kind of money.
As for the Gucci i do agree the vintage versions are so much more fun and hopefully they shall create somthing equally creative. As for the rest i totally agree. Lets hope the designer's keep this up so i can save money with the coming year 😅

My SA sent me a picture of the star bag and my first thought was ( having a girl that loved going to Claire) this is a kid bag or what???? It looks like a 15$ bag, sorry! The squeeze bag, I love! I won’t get it since I’m more of a classic bags gal but I love the look. The row always been a no for me, not paying that kind of money for it. LV does nothing to get me back, release after release, I’m so indifferent of this brand. I’ll look at the next one in 2 weeks ( or in 2 days, it’s fast fashion at this point) with the same feeling probably. Picotin is part of my absolute favorite bags. 💕

I agree with your arguments on maybe half of the bags shown. It’s good to see that not everybody ❤ the same bags. But it still feels so , since I put my interest on a waiting list for the Picotin 2 wks ago. And I might have to wait until spring 2024…
I also like most of the row bags preferably the half moon bag.
I”d not say no to the Loewe squeeze (Even I prefer silver HW).

Omg I loved the original Stam in the 2000s but was much too young and poor to buy one! I still love it, love the quilting, the chain, the kiss lock but I wish with all my soul that they would have upated the top handles and the range of sizes

I wouldn't pay that much for today's marc jacobs leather. They're sweet spot is the $200-$600 bags for the quality. The re-release of the stam made no sense.

Other than being more interesting, vintage versions of bags are also more original, more genuine. Re editions are a merch cash grab. Original saddle bag had a percent of "artistic cheapness" in it that made it so alluring. Saddle bag re edition is like embalmed and waxed over version of original. Stiff & prissy like the boring times we live in, no trace of original y2k joy there 😂.
That STAR bag definitely looks like a challenge!!

The go 14 bag looks like they’re about to cut into it and reveal it is actually cake. If you’re going to get a puffy bag like that I’d just go for the Chanel 19 as you mentioned. The quilting is much better on it and it’s much more classic.
