Where is the bit about adding 1 piece to grow 100 branches?
Yeah. I was wondering that also.
clickbait title, clickbait picture :(
Utter nonsense.
🙄 I hate when people do this
This is yo watch video till the end
I kept waiting for the sales pitch for some "miracle" orchid growing secret. Thanks for the simple do at home solution !
I have 11 orchids here, I treat them like normal plants, and they all bloom 3 times a year, they're all starting again, 2 are already blooming, they're in the balcony box by the kitchen window!
That’s fantastic 😊
It sounds like you’ve found the perfect spot and routine for them. Blooming three times a year is a wonderful result, and having them near a bright kitchen window with good light clearly works well in your home.
Your consistency is paying off - 11 orchids thriving is impressive! Wishing you even more beautiful blooms 🌸
Ever notice how happy this orchid looks after the care and replanting
I have bought orchids after valentine's day when the floral department slashes prices to almost nothing. Then I use this method to revive them. My orchids are blooming now in the winter
That is quite common one of mine started blooming in the beginning of December.
That’s fantastic 😊 What a smart approach! It’s great to hear the method helped revive them and that they’re blooming even in winter. Thanks for sharing your experience 🌸
Proper nutrition for Phalaenopsis orchids not in bloom is very important for their health and wellbeing. When they stop blooming, it is VERY important they start receiving proper nutrition through proper lighting, proper watering, and proper fertilizer. It depends on what type of soil mix you use as to what type of fertilizer you need with Phalaenopsis orchids. Use a 30-10-10 (NPK ratio) orchid fertilizer for Phalaenopsis planted in a bark based soil mix, for example. Phalaenopsis orchids are epiphytic (meaning they similar in their natural growing habits to air plants and like to cling to trees). So they tend to like bark based soil mix. But just be careful about how much fertilizer you use on them. Like most orchids, they do not need a lot of fertilizer. Use 1/2 of 1/64 tsp. Of your chosen fertilizer for every 1/2 cup of water (pure water like reverse osmosis water, rain water, or distilled water). Never use tap water exposed to chemicals. Especially fluoride or chlorine and chloramine. And never use hard water. Prune the spikes off once they dry out or can no longer be of use to the plant. And trim off any dead or yellowing leaves. Repot them every 2 years or whenever the soil mix has decomposed too much. Or if there is a problem with your orchid that requires repotting. Soak bark based soil mix about 24 hours prior to repotting. Use pure water to soak the mix.
Thanks for that hot tip! I'll check into reduced orchids after Saturday, Valentine's Day❣
With Phalaenopsis You can revive them just fine with proper care. If they still have good roots and good leaves, and the base is not rotted through, there is a chance it will recover and bloom again. But when they bloom again depends on if they are a winter blooming Phalaenopsis or a summer blooming one. Other orchid types also grow a bit differently than Phalaenopsis. But Phalaenopsis are the most common ones given out at Valentine’s Day. Might be a little late to have them shipped to you by Valentine’s Day now. But if you live close to a grocery store that also sells flowers, you might find Phalaenopsis orchids. That is if they are not sold out already… But a lot of Phalaenopsis are leftovers in grocery stores. You could try and nurse a cheap one back to life, if it is healthy enough. But if you try locally go in person if you can. So you can inspect the orchid before you buy it. Do not buy them if they are a Phalaenopsis and have spots on the leaves, severely damaged leaves, rotten roots, or black marks on the leaves (that is likely a black fungus). You could treat them for the black fungus, but why spend more money on a clearly infected plant? Besides, unless you quarantine it, an infection of fungus will spread to your other orchids (if you have more of them). And as for spots on the leaves, that typically indicates a virus. Get rid of ANY orchid with a virus! Double bag the infected plant, tie up the bag, and throw it in the trash. Even burn it if you have no other way to safely dispose of it. Viruses can spread easily from orchid to orchid too. Keep an eye on ANY new orchid you receive and inspect them thoroughly before introducing them to your collection. Improper potting and watering when done improperly are big killers of Phalaenopsis orchids. Next would be being sold unhealthy plants that have pests, diseases, or viruses. Followed by not enough light and drafty conditions and leaves damage in shipping or moving them around. Accidents happen sometimes. Sigh! What you going to do when it is just an accident?🤷♀️ Just repot them as needed, and treat any injuries, at least with Phalaenopsis. They are tougher orchids than most. But still… Do try to be gentle with them too.
I followed your suggestions for my dying orchid which i brought from Netherlands to Saudi Arabia. It’s too dry here and hot too. I washed it with baking soda water and put some carrot juice to it’s soil as you suggested. And it just grow some new leaves and roots. Thank you for your advice
Saved her from trash, gave a second life. She is just thankful. Doesn't matter what u place under a pot.
This makes orchid care feel much easier for home growers. Thanks for explaining so clearly
You're most welcome! I'm so glad it makes orchid care feel easier for you. 😊
How do you keep the watering solution good, for a length of time? Or does it stay naturally safe, without turning "rotten"?
Nice video but it doesn't say anything about the title.
Still no "nothing"
Rice and garlic are not exactly the best methods. But cinnamon on the other hand can be a great help for minor cuts after pruning. It also acts as a mild fungicide. It can also help with fungus gnats. Just be very careful with how much of it you use! It can be very damaging if you use too much of it. And be sure it is pure ground cinnamon. Not cinnamon with sugar in it.
@WonderGarden86they know exactly what they need in the wild. They just have to be in the right spot and environment for them at the right time. Orchids are fairly fussy plants. Phalaenopsis orchids are one of the LEAST fussy ones. But even they are not as easy as some flowers to grow. Marigolds, for instance, are very easy. They are also a great help in gardens by helping to repel a lot of insects. Their smell is repulsive to many insects. Never have seen aphids on our imperial marigolds, for example. But orchids… oh dear… They require a lot of attention to their needs to thrive. But if you love them that much, it will be worth it to you. Especially when they bloom.❤
Yes....I have my orchids since 6 years...blossom up to twice a year...I use moss and the same potting stuff...use garlic as extra...works fine...
where are the 100 branches?

Q: Can the Cinnamon Water & Cinnamon & Bread Water be used more than once? I often have more than one plant to treat. Thank you for your great tutorial!
The bread crumbs supposedly provide beneficial microorganisms, but they were likely killed when adding the bread crumbs to the hot water.
I love it when people save plants..
Me too
You teach beautiful 😍
This orchid is absolutely fine and healthy. No need any recovery. 🗽🇺🇸
Yeah, I was thinking that I didn't see a sick orchid, just dormant.
Yes - and all that cinemon and bread nonsense. Just remove the old roots, set it in new substrate and don't overwater the plant.
@rayengel714 Maybe it works - I haven't tried it yet! haha
Amazing. Thank you for sharing.God bless you ❤
ChatGPT: Many of the mechanical steps shown here are absolutely correct for rehabilitating Phalaenopsis orchids - especially removing old compacted moss, trimming rotten roots with clean tools, rinsing the root system, repotting into fresh pine bark, and ensuring good aeration and light. Those practices alone can significantly improve plant recovery.
However, I would like to respectfully comment on the cinnamon and bread solution.
Cinnamon does have mild antifungal properties and is sometimes used in dry powder form on fresh cuts to help dry wounds. That said, soaking roots or regularly watering with cinnamon extract is not a standard horticultural practice and may potentially dry or irritate sensitive root tissue.
The bread solution is more concerning from a plant pathology perspective. Bread contains starches and sugars that can promote microbial growth in an uncontrolled way. While the video refers to “beneficial microorganisms,” fermented organic solutions made from bread are not stable or microbiologically balanced inoculants. In a bark-based orchid substrate, repeated application of sugar-rich liquid can increase the risk of bacterial or fungal growth and root rot over time.
It is very possible that the orchid recovered primarily because of:
• Removal of rotten roots
• Replacement of degraded moss with aerated bark
• Improved environmental conditions
These factors alone often lead to successful recovery.
For long-term health, most growers rely on:
• Proper drainage and airflow
• Allowing the medium to dry slightly between waterings
• Diluted, balanced orchid fertilizer (applied at low strength)
Natural approaches can be effective, but they should also be microbiologically safe and evidence-based.
Still, it’s encouraging to see people focusing on rescuing plants instead of discarding them - that mindset is always positive.

What is with the title? It’s not usually misleading. Regardless, i thoroughly enjoyed your video… I love them all❣️ I love the natural everyday ingredients you use that I would never have known about like cinnamon, breadcrumbs, onion skins and rice water to name a few. You also have a very soothing voice and lovely hands that I find extremely calming when I watch and listen to you.
Sending greetings and best wishes from Sydney, Australia
Distilled water, rain water, and reverse osmosis water are best for orchids. The rice thing really does not work. You probably just have naturally soft water without any of the chemicals orchids hate in it. They hate hard water and chemicals in tap water, even if it is filtered water from the refrigerator. And NEVER use ice cubes or hot water. That will shock and damage them. The rice thing is just a gimmick. Also keep the water you choose to use at room temperature when watering your orchid. Also they like to be top watered around their roots. Never water the crown of the orchid. That can cause rot. You can water them with a smaller watering can with a long spout. Orchids like these types of watering cans.
They also enjoy a little bit of fertilizer when the blooms are done blooming. A 20/20/20, water soluble, orchid specific fertilizer at 1/4 the recommended strength once a week when you water your orchid works well.
Love this
Glad you enjoyed it! Wishing you beautiful blooms 🌸

Cinnamon broth combined with a little decrease in watering frequency or amount is great for fungus gnats. But it really is not used for much else. And bread crumbs… as far as I know they do not really do anything that I can recall. There may be something in some types of bread that might be helpful for some reason. But bread in general is not a good idea to use for Phalaenopsis orchids. You will have better luck with fertilizer and treatments for your specific type of orchid you are feeding or treating. And before you treat it with anything, try and narrow down what condition you are trying to treat for. Sometimes it can also be more than one condition. But generally there are telltale signs of what it is exactly that is going on. Like spots indicate a virus, for example, that means you should likely get rid of the sick orchid safely and quickly. Then you have your basic fungual infections, root rot, overwatering symptoms, under watering symptoms, not enough light symptoms, too much light symptoms, disease symptoms, pest symptoms, and not good enough airflow symptoms. Then you have your improper potting symptoms as well. And never forget the not enough humidity symptoms. Some symptoms can overlap each other too. Making things more complicated to diagnose properly. But there is a subreddit on Reddit called orchids where there are some experts that can lend you some help and good advice for proper orchid care for most types of orchids. No need to go to your household pantry, unless it is for some pure ground cinnamon powder. That works great as a paste on cuts on the Phalaenopsis orchids. Except for the roots. Never use it on the roots as it can dry the roots out and kill them.

Li metto dislike 👎
Tree bark
This was a very healthy orchid before you started. Wish I could find some that has that many healthy roots
Where is the one thing you spoke of in the title of this
Thank you for asking! The “one thing” mentioned in the title is not a physical object or secret. It’s more of a figurative idea. Orchids bloom from proper care, healthy roots, and patience-not from a single item 🌸
@WonderGarden86that’s very unethical though. That is called vague, fake and false thumbnail to attract public.
@WonderGarden86 It is a shame I had to downvote an otherwise good video because the title is a bald faced lie.
@WonderGarden86that is called CIICKBAIT and makes me not want to subscribe. I would have subscribed had you not been deceptive.
I tried this mine is covered with stens
THANK YOU. EASY...QUICK EFFICIENT USE OF WORDS.

I use skinned and peeled chopped garlic cloves for fungus gnats and reduce the amount of water I use when they show up. But you have to be careful with garlic because some plants are really sensitive to the chemicals in garlic. Some orchids are no exception to this no garlic rule. It depends on how sensitive your orchids are to the chemicals of garlic, if they are sensitive to them at all. But potted roses and potted citrus trees can be helped with chopped garlic cloves in driving off adult fungus gnats with the smell and killing the larva with the chemicals in them. Potted Roses and citrus trees oddly do not seem to mind garlic chopped garlic cloves sprinkled on the soil surface. In fact, potted roses like garlic as a companion plant. Citrus trees, however, prefer their own personal pot. But they seem to tolerate chopped garlic cloves to some extent. At least with limes and Meyer lemon trees so far, I found. Anyway, try and avoid garlic, rice, onions, and anything other than what is specifically recommended for them by orchid growers, orchid enthusiasts, and those who have a ton of experience growing orchids. Many orchids love pure water, orchid soil mix specifically designed for the species they are, and fertilizer specifically designed for the type of orchid they are when it is appropriate to fertilize that particular species of orchid. And of course the correct amount of sunlight or synthetic light that is just the right kind of lighting for that particular species of orchid. Some like low light, some like indirect bright light, and so on. Each species of orchid has different needs. So make sure you are using the right methods for the species you have. Terrestrial orchids, for instance, will need a completely different soil mix than a Phalaenopsis orchid, or another orchid in the family of orchids that likes to live on trees, or sometimes rocks with some families of orchids. Not all methods fit all types of orchids. Do some research on the type of orchid you have, or want, first. Preferably before you even consider purchasing one. Then buy based on what you are able to provide for the orchid. For example, let us say you want a Phalaenopsis orchid. Okay. Do a little research. They are popular, they are usually hardy for an orchid. And they come in various colors and are sold by many different vendors. But do you have pure water like distilled water, reverse osmosis water, or rain water to give them? Do you know how to get a hold of a soil mix with the right sized pices of fir bark, horticultural charcoal, and pearlite in it, or where to buy a mix with that in it for Phalaenopsis orchids? Do you have the right kind of sunlight or artificial light they need available? Do you have the light available for the duration of the time they need? Do you have access to clear plastic containers or pots with proper drainage holes that are the correct size and height they will need? Do you have access to a pair of shears or orchid scissors of some kind so you can trim and dying leaves, dead spikes, or rotten or mushy brown roots? Do you know what to do about mold? Do you know what to do if you get pests or diseases? Do you know what to look for as far as pests and diseases go? Are you keeping it indoors or outdoors? Better be sure you live in a warm climate if you choose outdoors. Orchids hate ice and snow. And do you know what fertilizer to use and when to use it? Better learn that before you buy them. And what size of Phalaenopsis orchid are you looking for? They come in standard varieties and miniature ones. Better decide if you have room for a standard one, or if you want a smaller mini one. Also you better take the size of mature plants into account. Standard varieties can get pretty big. But mini ones… well they can grow to be good sized too. 6 to 10 inches high, as a matter of fact. Standard sized ones get bigger than that. If you can not find space for a mini that will get 10 inches tall, do not get this type of orchid at all. But if you have room for something larger than 10 inches tall and you still have ample room left, a standard Phalaenopsis orchid would probably work fine. These are just the BASIC things to consider BEFORE getting a Phalaenopsis orchid. And when you get your Phalaenopsis orchid from a vendor, take it out of the pots it is in and get rid of the sphagnum moss and grower plug of foam (or more sphagnum moss). Be gentle when you remove the plug though. And if you can, wait until it is finished blooming before removing the plug. But considering that it is already probably 2 years old already, it is probably wiser to just remove the plug and repot it in a slightly bigger pot (about 1 or 2 inches bigger than the previous pot, but not more than 2 inches ever whenever you repot). Use fresh soil mix appropriate for your orchid when you repot. Then just keep an eye on it and top water it with a small watering can with a long spout when the roots are silvery green or white. Water it over a sink or a bowl so water will not leak everywhere. Anyway, a lot to know. And a Phalaenopsis orchid is not even the most difficult orchid! Orchids are naturally a very fussy plant. Ugh! But if you really want and love them, they are worth it. But keep in mind a fussy plant can be like a little baby sometimes… You got to give your plant baby the right care too. If you do not, that plant baby will perish after just a few months time.
Oh and do not forget to get the humidity right with Phalaenopsis orchids! Sometimes a tray of pebbles with a little water in it and the orchid’s pot placed on top of that is all one needs for that with Phalaenopsis orchids. Other orchids require more or less humidity. But many orchids have to have humidity to some extent to thrive well. That is important with orchids too. Especially the really fussy ones! And orchids like warm temperatures typically. There are some that like cooler temperatures, but orchids still dislike frost, ice, and snow of any kind. Keep them indoors if you have any of these conditions at any time of year. It just works better for them that way. Less stress for them. Less adjustments to being moved. Less chance your orchid might drop blooms. Things like that. Anyway, I hope I have given you some good advice.
Did not realize how sensitive Orchid Plants are to bacteria & fungus.
I'm just starting all this. Where there is life, there is hope!

Sooooo, what’s the “one piece under the orchid” ? Piece of what??????
How hot should the water be for the breadcrumb? Boiling?
i have found the clorine in tap water detrimental to the roots, as I can see these are dusty grey from the tap water. I was trained to let a bucket sit out overnight, to come to room temp, and eliminate clorine gas, and keep plant healthier.
That works for chlorine. But not chloramines. If your water supply has chloramines in it, it will have to have that removed a different way than chlorine.
Do you have natural ways to remove mealy bug infestations?
Thank you for sharing such a practical and easy-to-follow technique. I believe this will make a positive difference for my orchids.
You're most welcome! I'm so glad you found the technique helpful, and I hope your orchids thrive!

nothing here about putting anything UNDER anything. why can't you just label the clip what it is: reviving sick orchids
Thank you for the feedback. I understand your point and appreciate you sharing it. The goal of the clip is to focus on recovery and basic care, and your suggestion about clearer labeling is very helpful. I’ll keep this in mind to make future content clearer and more straightforward.

I came across your video by accident and I'm just a beginner and your video has been very helpful cause my ones always died but i didnt know then to plant in bark! I bought 2 at xmas this year and 1 is in a glass container with no holes! And a lot of sphagnum so i will try that one your way see how it goes.
THANKYOU!! 🇦🇺 From Australia
Thank you so much! 😊 I’m really glad the video helped, especially as a beginner. Bark and good drainage make a big difference for orchids. Take it step by step and observe how your plant responds. Wishing you great success with your orchids in Australia!

I know nothing about orchids. I have a discarded orchid root system. The leaves were all cut off by the person who was discarding it. Can the roots grow into a new plant? I have been keeping it barely moist. Someone suggested that I use water from my planted fish aquarium, as it has lots of nutrients. I also bought an orchid fertilizer. Could the method you use in this video save this plant, or does it need leaves to photosynthesize?
If it still had leaves on it that are healthy, you could try. But there is a way to make them grow from division, I think. But it is not divided from the roots with Phalaenopsis orchids. And they require pure water. Distilled water works well with Phalaenopsis orchids. But you can also use rain water or reverse osmosis water. Never use boiling water or ice on your orchid. That will only shock and damage them.
This is a great question. In most cases, an orchid cannot recover from roots alone. Orchids need a healthy crown (the growing center) to produce new leaves, and leaves are essential for photosynthesis. If the crown was cut off or is rotten, the roots by themselves won’t grow into a new plant.
If the crown is still present and firm, recovery may be possible with patience. Keep the plant warm, in bright indirect light, and only lightly moist-never wet. Do not fertilize heavily right now; aquarium water or fertilizer can easily stress a plant with no leaves. Focus on humidity and airflow first.
If there is no crown at all, then unfortunately the plant cannot be saved. Even though the roots may look alive, they won’t regenerate a whole orchid on their own.
You did the right thing by asking before doing more-orchids can be tricky at first 🌸
@cambuxton6835 ok, I’ll give it a try with distilled water. And post the results here. Thank you!
I love the measuring cups with stoppers! Please share where we can buy them. 🙏🏻

I live in Bolivia..I have an orchid growing in one of my trees..I have had the property 3 yrs..it has never bloomed..should I take it out of the tree and pot it.. there there is no pine bark like Canada..just moss I believe..can you please address my problem..love your videos..thankyou!😊
What is the exact proportion of cinnamon water and bread water? 1 tablespoon of cinnamon/500ml water? Or 1teaspoon?.. I'm confused because you use same size spoon when making bread water😅
looked like a tbs to me, hope that helps since its been two weeks and no answer from OP 🤷♀
It's 1 tsp cinnamon/500ml or 16.9 oz water.
2 tsp bread crumbs/500ml or 16.9 oz water
Do not use boiling water, it will kill all of the beneficial bacteria in the cinnamon and bread crumbs. Hope this helps!
Blessings, 😊 Patti
Would this solution help oalms?

You’re so welcome! 😊 I’m happy to hear it was helpful.
What is this one piece you put under the plant?

Muchas gracias.❤️
😂😂😂
Where are you from? Like your sense of humour.
