Anyway, this segment was freakin' awesome. Among being one of the absolute best, AJ Styles is the most interesting character in TNA right now. Awesome and solid stuff here.
Yea. I think he was originally like that in TNA(kinda like how Goldberg was when he was new in WCW). Then he started to talk more and smile more and worked on his promo skills when he became a heel which I didn't really like. I preferred the more serious "I mean business type" AJ Styles like from the beginning.
Okay, i'm officially back to watching TNA again. With this AJ angle and the brilliant Bully Ray storyline it's a must. Will have to see a live show in the Impact Zone in Orlando also.
this is very reminiscent of Sting vs nWo...makes sense too...Sting was the main star of WCW and AJ was the original star of TNA...the hero coming to save the company from Aces and 8's
There are just a limited amount of stories you can tell in Wrestling. It's basicly just around 5 clichees repackaged over and over again. And I've gotta say, this storyline right there can basicly only help AJ. If it succeeds, that gives AJ the best possible standing as Face of the company. And a new twist to his personality. And if that story flops, as most of TNA's booking does, AJ's at least not worse off...
@@theprodigy9617 Yeah I know he’s in WWE. I’m so proud of him after the way TNA treated him. And yep I’m still on RUclips though I don’t really watch wrestling like that anymore.
I like the six-sided ring too, but I don't think people followed it for hardcore matches, people have liked TNA for the good wrestling. I definitely agree that Hogan is making it a lot worse though. There's definitely a way to use him, but shoving him down my throat every week isn't how I want to see it. They have guys that are a lot better on the mic than him that can actually wrestle as well.
I dunno, man. To me, Styles probably doesn't have the chops for this. He's not mysterious, he's a straight up old school babyface. We'll see though, I guess.
everyone is saying aj is heel but he's not- he's an anti-hero (he lost his top spot, fell from grace and he feels like his fans rejected him) so now he wants to get back on the top and he'll use whatever means to do so (maybe even joining aces and eights) and he doesn't care who he takes out on his mission (even if that person is a former friend) and james storm is the friend who is trying to snap aj out of it and bring him back to his old self
I would like to see Styles vs Storm ... but I'm not feeling HEEL Styles ( if TNA is going that way ) AJ Styles has been with the company since day one he IS the true face of TNA ... Styles has what it takes to carry that company ...nevertheless I am a FAN of TNA and I will be watching to see how it all plays out ... GO Styles GO TNA!
He had matches on a show called jakked but he did not last long. WWE tried getting AJ before a couple of years ago but he rejected them and stayed in TNA . Well this was awhile ago when WWE tried to buy the whole X division. Thank god they never sold out!
Repackage of Sting in the form of AJ Styles...the wcw crow storyline. AJ Styles as Sting, the silent guy that lost everything and came back as a "silent ghost" Aces and Eights as the NWO trying to recruit him, while he hunts them down(wait and see, this'll happen). James Storm as Lex Luger, the company guy who tries to bring back the silent one's former self.
imo aj isn't heel he has more of an anti-hero look about him (he wants to get back on top and he doesn't care who he takes out) but he became this because he felt us fans turned on him and james stormm is like lex luger in wcw (the company man/ best friend who tries to snap aj back into his former self) don't know if aj will take aces and eights up on their offer to join the group but we'll just have to wait and see (i think he'll do it )
I thought that about storm but if anyone should be similar in comparison would be daniels as they have had some amazing battles and have been best friends
So this is the new big storyline in TNA? A re-casted rehash of Sting vs. the nWo from WCW. Now it's AJ Styles vs. the Aces and 8s. The Aces are already trying to enlist AJ, just as the nWo tried to enlist Sting. You've got AJ's former friends questioning his motives and AJ testing them to see if he can still trust them, just like Sting did with his friends in WCW. Good lord. Fire the writing staff, and get rid of Hogan and Bischoff.
Lone aj is back!!! Tna version known to be aggressive and mysterious one of the coolest versions of him Very great on the mic and tougher to keep down for the pin
You are guessing wrong because I watched Nitro and Thunder every week. NWO was not really a biker club gimmick and just because Aj was silent doesn't mean he is doing like Sting did for months in WCW but i guess we will see. There are similarities but it's not the same in my opinion from having watched both as they actually happened.
Not really. Oh sure. There have been some silver linings in the dreariness and abyssal clusterfuck that is TNA. Things such as Austin Aries's main event push, Kazarian & Daniels are pure comedy gold, and as of late Magnus getting involved in the big storylines and Aries/Roode which are gold. But I just feel like with TNA, it's like throwing a dart at a dartboard. It's either gonna be a hit or a miss. The negatives outweigh the positives more often.
James Storm is horrible on the mic. All he had to say was "Why, AJ?". Instead, he took us the long way around just to fit in his tired catchphrase. SMDH and is it just me, or the music cue bullshit is old and tired, too? just saying.
I know, right? My god. The last two years have been horrible. Who's writing this crap? First the whole Claire Lynch angle, then being on a losing streak and becoming depressed, and now he's an alleged emo drug-addict?
FUCKS SAKE, I didn't think TNA could screw up AJ Styles anymore than they have, I miss the old high flying styles that was a champion competing in blockbuster matches.
Yep this is sting v nWo all over again. But not complaining sting can't do that role anymore himself now he's become a hybrid of old and new and he's getting on a bit more now. Just is this gonna be a long term thing for AJ like it became for sting? How's he gonna look for the next 10 years? I'm glad they're finally doing something decent with him again he was reason other than sting I started watching tna
Back when TNA had big arenas.. Man i miss TNA being great.

I don't know much about tna but I agree
now its alot smaller
Kenny Omega selling out college basketball courts
Now there’s like 20 people 😭
TNA SUCKS WITHOUT AJ STYLES!!!

He’s the heart and soul of TNA
TNA is small who's the blame for that that's wat I wanna know
When TNA was good

Yeah The Roster Was Crazy So They Was Using All Their Talent
Yep
They went downhill after that year
They had a nice run between 2004-2014
Aj was the crow sting of this era mixed with his prelude to his bullet club leadership.
In my opinion I honestly think this version of AJ Styles could work in wwe
I actually agree. I'd be hyped to see this AJ
Hell yea he's dark
He there now as heel!
@@thetru-drushow8412 but not in the same gimmick
I personally dont like the lone wolf look. This
James Storm = Shawn Cold Steve Michaels.
Mikey Dangerously finally someone else noticed that
Also how it feels to get a reply 5 years later
jaykishor mishra feels weird how fast time flies
Mikey Dangerously Shawn Cold Steve Mongo McMichaels
XDGhosted Storm is waaaaaay better than Mongo
Myles Mohammed was just adding to the joke bro
Anyway, this segment was freakin' awesome. Among being one of the absolute best, AJ Styles is the most interesting character in TNA right now. Awesome and solid stuff here.
They fucked up letting AJ talk. He should have been silent.

Yea. I think he was originally like that in TNA(kinda like how Goldberg was when he was new in WCW). when tna was actually good
Storm vs Styles is going to be GREAT! You can feel an electric rivalry when the wrestlers come face to face. That was pretty electric...
when tna had big arenas

Jackeuiiijiuiuiiuoioiio Brophy stop doing that
I still can't figure out how a guy like Mike Tenay can look 70 but has the voice of someone who is 25.
He never had a contract, but he worked in dark matches, I remember seeing him, wrestling Hurricane, in a wrestling magazine in early 2000
Okay, i'm officially back to watching TNA again. With this AJ angle and the brilliant Bully Ray storyline it's a must. Will have to see a live show in the Impact Zone in Orlando also.
AJ Styles defines the word Phenomenal.
AJ's new angle is heavily reminding me of what they did with black and white Sting back in WCW when the NWO was around.
I can dig it.
I think it should be "playing the saint" by digital summer. Fits AJ's new gimmick very well
Even AJ hadn't spoke, that was a good segment :)
this is very reminiscent of Sting vs nWo...makes sense too...Sting was the main star of WCW and AJ was the original star of TNA...the hero coming to save the company from Aces and 8's

This AJ Styles needs to make his presence felt in WWE.

Oh, of course!
"Royal Rumble" "Roman Reigns" lol
Me too. But AJ's getting old and he's had to change his style(no pun intended) so I think it's a good idea to change the Phenomenal One's persona.

AJ Styles vs Bully Ray at Starrcade ... I mean Bound for Glory

Okay, good to know. Looks like their are getting good crowds. This is a good move for them. I'll check when they swing by my way then.
Yep, there are parallels between Sting and AJ Styles. They're like Batman and Robin of pro wrestling. Nostalgically, we're celebrating the 1990's.
He'll join Aces and Eights, win the x division. = All gold too Aces and Eights byeee
styles and storm are the two guys who participated in the most number of matches in TNA in the whole roster !
AJ Styles, definitely the Phenomenal Rebel.

Aj is the new Sting. He's gonna end up the savior of TNA from the Aces & Eights.
Not the AJ we deserve but the we need right now.
I thought that about storm but if anyone should be similar in comparison would be daniels as they have had some amazing battles and have been best friends
That fan behind Taz wasn't too pleased once Storm's music hits
Lol the crowd yelling hug it out
I was gonna say this somewhat reminds me of a early WCW Raven-esque character, with the leather jacket and grungy appearance, along with the silence

Which I hope happens. He can resemble rock legend, Steve Miller, or have a skull facepaint like the Aces and Eights.
