Dad On TikTok Offers To Be Stand-In Parent At LGBTQ+ Weddings

- In the latest edition of The Upside, TODAY’s Al Roker highlights a dad who is offering to stand in as a parent at weddings of people in the LGBTQ+ community where the biological parents refused support. His generous offer spawned a group called “TikTok Stand In Families” that is 32,000 members strong.

Family is who you make it. So many people have families that deprive their siblings, daughters, sons, etc the feeling of being LOVED to be whoever they choose to be. What this Dad is doing is spreading love, joy and happiness to so many. All humans need to be more like him.

There are lots of heterosexual couples that have no support either for different reasons… parents died, they don’t accept their spouse, they live far away from their families, etc… it’d be nice to have this type of support for them as well.
