I'm glad I didn't learn as much theory in my communications degree. Yes, I learnt theory and did research in my first year. Then from the second year, there were more practical things like creative and professional writing, video production and introductory graphic design. It would definitely make you more employable.
@@Westham_dan I'm a third-year bachelor student in Communication Sciences and Culture and I'm currently applying to Media Studies. So, the balance between practical work and theoretical part depends on the institution, but as the girl said, at the start theory will be stronger, with softer and more empirical project along the way. It requires you to grow with the programme: experts don't grow on trees. Talk with your colleagues, discuss theories, joke about key words and develop the willingness to become what you really want: an analytical powerhouse in the field of communication... which does not mean being a wonderful presenter or good at acting, bare that in mind. Also, the academic prestige and "marketing/popular" aspect of the course is to be developed by us, each day. It doesn't have an immediate, sparkly and iconic taste to it, like Economics or Law, but that doesn't need to be discouraging you. Good Luck!
Thanks for this video. I’m currently working towards major in Neuroscience with a minor in Physics and I am interested also in communication and media and I think I will double major.
thanks for the video! i'm currently choosing which subject to study in the uni and you help :D I'm also going to Germany to study and before clicking in your video , i have kein gar idea that you studied in Germany, what a coincidence 😍
Hey, no I didn't with this course. Usually though they are courses in SPSS where they teach you basic statics, I never took them though with this degree, because I had actual math / statistics courses within my business degree :)
Hi, I saw your video about the communication and media degree. I wanted to ask you, to prepare myself better for research and statistic what could I study?
Thank you for information But i would ask you please , i wanna work in TV fields can you say in talkshows or making reporting so on , so i thought should study degree in media and communication like in hamburg university or any university here in germany , so that is right Or you will guied me to better way !? Thank you again 🙏🏻
i'm looking for a masters degree in comm and media, i'm looking for something that has to do with social media could you please recommend something in germany for non UEFA students (meaning that doesn't require 6000 euros per sem) i love your videos and i'm looking forward to an answer i'm literally stuck i couldn't find anything on my own
Thank you for this video, but I have one question. Im going to study media communication , which is also related with international relationship or something like that. In fact, I don't really know what exactely it is. but you said you are studying communcation and media science, and the courses with 'science' are required 'research', more than the courses which are not. Now, my question is does 'media communicatian' required a lot of research too? How do you think?
Yeah, there are plenty of researches to look at like case studies regarding communication theories - which impact media communication. Comm studies go in depth with questioning proper ways to analyze data, appropriate scope for gathering and analyzing messages and data etc., which all require research. Its a DEEP world of research. It also depends where you go for university, but my catalog included organizational, interpersonal, rhetorical, methods of research, theories of comm, just to name a few core ones.
I like your video! I wonder if you have any suggestion for me to improve my editing skill. I currently enroll in this degree but I am afraid if my editing skill is not good enough.
You are brilliant in your presentation and obey the rules and values of communicating with your wholesale smile and your wonderful presence in this video. You have a great depth of knowledge and values. I wish you progress and prosperity . Dr. Atef Al-Rafo, Associate Professor in Media and Communication. Is media and communication a bit of everything in terms of media production? So a bit of graphic design, writing and other things
