Superimposing the charts are necessary as well. Take your navamsa chart and place it on top of your birth chart and see how the planets are manifesting.

Houses characteristics are guided not only by the signs in them for eg in Kalpurush but also planets ruling those houses. Hence 6th house has more relation to analysis as is required to deduce sickness and cure it which the 6th house represents, and thus ruled by Mercury the planet of analysis. Thus a pattern for planets related to signs as related to houses

Taurus in 9th house...d9...mars sun and rahu in taurus...and venus in 12th house d9..
