Captain Crazy is my kind of Crazy I could for hours with my ukulele or guitar and have fun with him non-tour time so he could smoke the herb and philosophise and we could record a song or ten.....I love his renditions....Aaron from Australia
I just met him 3 days ago while I was on my cruise to the carribean. He was the best tour guide that I had. When he started singing outside of Bob Marley's room, he got me do some singing on my own while we were walking downhill. He actually started laughing when he noticed it. I recommend to anyone going to Jamaica to go on the Bob Marley Tour and meet this guy. I will never forget him for as long a I live. Ha, Haa , HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife and I had a fantastic time with captain crazy in october, my wife broke her leg earlier in our holiday and the captain really looked after her calling her "His Queen". He is absolutely fantastic and we still can't get enough of his laugh.
I went in October 2008, we didnt have Captain Crazy as our guide, but we could hear him the entire time! it was great :D One of the best tours, if I go back, I'll do this again
my dream is going to nine miles, but im too poor, but if you have a dream i think you can get it, i will make the money to travel and will be the happiest man alive, some day i will see the land of bob marley with my own eyes. =D.
In Nine Miles, its actually legal to smoke up. I think only on the Bob Marley compound though. People where smoking everywhere lol. We were there on Bob's birthday.
@bobfari Yes, his name was Antoni Booker. My tour guide, Curtis told us that he was killed by police in Miami in the early 90s. I haven't researched it yet but I'm going to. His mother, Cedella was married to his dad and they divorced if I'm not mistaken and she later remarried and had Antoni.
he actually did - he rolled his joint on top of bob marley's tombstone there, because thats the one spot where we weren't allowed to take pics/videos. He doesn't want any more vids of him smokin' going up on youtube i guess lol
@nairb19977 Captain Crazy works at the Bob Marley Mausoleum in St. Ann, Jamaica. It's Bob's childhood home and it's been converted into a museum. He's buried there with his brother, Antoni and his mom is buried there as well. I went this past Thursday, June 24th but Captian Crazy wasn't my guide. I did get to meet and take a pic with him however. He's a riot! Curtis was my tour guide and he's funny as hell too.
he mentions the talking blues lyric "cold ground was my bed last night, rocks was my pillow too" always wondered where bob picked that up.. i know another song with the same lyric "Mojo Hand by Lightnin Hopkins" from i think 1962 im thinkin theres some other source that this line came from that both marley and hopkins independently learned... my first guess was the Bible... but the only thing close was jacobs pillow.... any one know any background on that line? or it could just be that he had heard it from hopkins lol...
Oops a month ago I posted I visited there June 24th but of course I meant March 24th. I must've posted that in the wee hours of the morning or was really tired. Perhaps it could've been both. If you're a Marley fan, check out the mausoleum. You'll enjoy it.
Going there to Ochos Rios Jamaica on Monday,. I was wondering if you guys know the name of the webstie or how I can book the tours? Is it true that you can buy HERB on this tour??
If you’re a “true” Bob Marley fan (who isn’t?), then you have to check out the Bob Marley Museum in 9 miles, St. Ann, Jamaica. It’s a hell of a ride through the hills, on some of the worst roads you’ll ever see. But once you get there, you’ll enjoy how crisp and fresh the air is.It’s also crazy to think that such a great man could come from such a remote, humble place. Please check out www.jaztrips.com/. It was created out of the love for Jamaica, and our intense desire to share that appreciation with as many people as possible. Our drivers can’t wait to share the sights and culture of Jamaica as they transport you to your next adventure, whether it’s visiting a hidden waterfall, one of the island’s breathtaking beaches, or the birthplace of our own Bob Marley.
