I love my Charvel tele :') I have the cheaper Joe duplantier signature (not a gojira fan) and it's perfect for me! Especially after swapping the pickups
Nailed it great review. Love, love , love the guitar. But I don't want a guitar I have to charge , or put batteries in, that's a major problem for me. And the upper fret access, hmmm would have to play it to see if that's a problem, but also when do I ever play past the 12 fret anyways.
Nice review! Yes, the positioning of your lefthand thumb is a bad habit for classical guitar players because it limits your access/speed of fingers 1-4. Nonetheless, the width of electrical and acoustic guitars' neck is much thinner and many electrical and accoustic guitar virtuoso players use their thumb to press the 5th and 6th strings, so its not an issue for these instruments... Nonetheless, I suggest you to record some hard riffs now and talk about the technical challenges you found on them (from scratch to playable). Then try changing your left hand position to a 'more correct' positon and when it becomes natural, record the same riffs, or other difficult passages, and record the issues you had until you got to play them at an acceptable level. Compare both recordings, your comments, and see if positioning your thumb 1st joint on +/- the center of the neck improved your technique. Did it made it easier to learn difficult passages? Do you feel that your LH fingers are more independent and "free"? etc.... I'm in a similar position as you were purchase wise, I'm saving for a Larada legion 8 for 6 reasons: 1) I can't practice with my classical guitar at night anymore; 2) an 8 string guitar is by itself a different instrument, even more if it is electric, with new repertoire and a lot to explore and experiment; 3) The fan fretting follows the natural positioning of your left hand making the instrument extremelly comfortable (I tried out a multiscale ibanez and was completely blown away with the playability of fan fret guitars); 4) a decent classical 8 string guitar costs over 3 larada legions; 5) I'm putting my money on the promise that the abasi fishman pick ups have a wide dynamic range (I'm probably heading for some disapointment here), and, from what I've heard, I like the versatility of these pick ups clean tones, although it is very likely that I'll end up drilling another hole and adding a tone potentiometer (maybe I'll be blown away by the 5 tonal options and decide not to do it, let's see...); 6) I absolutely love the functionality of the design which alows you to sit your guitar in classical position, or positioning the neck vertically to facilitate using your ima + pinky finger for tapping... But yes, I can see your "pain" on deciding to buy an abasi concepts vs many other options on the market... In the end of the day, if it makes you happy and you can do it, that's all that matters... I have 3 strong arguments: 1) I cannot practice on my beloved classical guitars when I usually have the time to do it; 2) I own 3 guitars: 2 classical (1 cedar top and 1 spruce top) and one 8 string electric and will not own more than 3 or 4 guitars. I only keep instruments that I play regularly, I don't horder stuff (although I'll never get rid of my cedar top classical guitar for its emotional value); 3) New sounds, different repertoire, new experimenting opportunities, challenging myself out of my comfort zone and explore other technical aspects of a plucked string instrument... Finally, I've been saving for it for a while now (putting a small ammount aside every month) and buying it feels like a deserved accomplishment... Whish me luck for the next larada legion 8 release, hopefully I'll be quick enough to get a black/charcoal burl top instrument (if not, I'll get whatever colour I can)...
I think this is a guitar you hate it or love it, no in the middle. Personally I really like the looks, congratulations beacause I think you're the first review of this guitar at the moment on yt xd
Looks fantastic, what did it cost? The pink sparkle one is my favourite looking. I didn't realise it took a charger for the pickups that's a huge turn off. I wouldn't say micro usb is obsolete, plenty still uses it and it's not going to disappear
@Rodner Yeager I have an 8 string strand and I haven't played any abasi guitar so I'm not sure I'm the one to answer your question on compairing them. But I'll say that you should try a strandberg (somehow) before you buy, the neck is super weird feeling because it's flattened out and feels blocky. These abasi concepts look like more or less the body of a strandberg with a traditional neck, and that will be an easy transition. My thumb stays on my neck (stranberg necks kind of make it happen) so I assume the single cut on the abasi wouldn't be a big deal. I think the build quality is equal on the guitars and body shape is similar so it's really down to the neck. Good luck!
im courious about why you choose an expensive modern guitar like that but the model that mimics a telecaster. Its kinda confusing... A tele with modern electronics doesn't fit better with the purpose?
@joe Great content, I just don’t like the idea of this guitar😂😂 but telecaster aside, Abasi makes some pretty sick guitars, I’m just not liking the vibe I get from abasi+ telecaster😂
Upgraded my camera and captured some 4K footage of the Abasi Space T in action - ruclips.net/video/BFusXnYP-Wo/видео.html
That tapping part was money. Ima steal it lols
Awesome!! The middle setting in the pick ups is my favorite.
The clean sound was really nice!
Sounds amazing so clear, congrats on such a nice guitar!
nice sound

Genius! 😂😂😂
@@joeguitar8160 i guess if you gig with it maybe battery changes would be better though :\

How does it play?
Big fan for the most part! Playing the higher frets is a bit odd still, but I'm getting there.
@@joeguitar8160 that’s awesome, how would you compare it to a strandberg?
@@Dr-sir-7 Never played one but it would be amazing to compare it against a

Wait so how do you bend strings above the 12th fret? I usually need my thumb over for that

Cool but you cant do a review without touching the knobs. Electronic isnt just the boost😁
Noted for next time!

You should've just gotten a tele...throw in some fishmans.. That hump would drive me nuts.. Lol
What the hell this video is great
