Pedro Pascal Proves Money Has Become Marvel's Greatest Villain

- It's been rough going at Marvel Studios lately. The Marvels has landed with a thud. There's also that recent Variety report showing how much of a dumpster fire Marvel movies are at the moment. Now, we have the rumored Fantastic Four casting news about Pedro Pascal becoming Reed Richards in the MCU. While Pedro Pascal is an excellent actor, having done great turns in The Last of Us, Game of Thrones, and his Star Wars show, The Mandalorian (there are even some great Pedro Pascal SNL moments), he might be too famous for the Fantastic Four. MCU actors generally started in their roles as C+/B- actors, and their Marvel Movies catapulted them to stardom. Recently, it seems Marvel has just been throwing money at their problems, and their willingness to spend lavish amounts of money to make sure big names are attached to the MCU phase 6 movies is proof that money has become Marvel's greatest villain.
Kevin Feige has a lot of work ahead of him with the MCU. Fantastic Four casting aside, he's got to turn around MCU phase 6 after what many consider to be an underwhelming MCU phase 5. In this video, we're going to discuss how Marvel cast for their movies leading up to The Avengers and how those strategies fell by wasteside once the Marvel Cinematic Universe really started cooking. Now with Fantastic 4 and X-Men on the way, we discuss how Marvel and Disney should take a more frugal approach to the production of future Marvel Comics movies, because the audience has atrophied and wont be showing up in droves anymore to see how the MCU timeline is updated.

The director for hire point is far more important than the money point. Marvel movies are suffering not from superhero fatigue, but marvel fatigue. There is a consistent and now kind of standard safe marvel playbook for all their movies. They all have the same types of scenes, same general outline, it's just becoming more and more of the same. We are not getting a variety of different films, we are getting the same film over and over again with different characters drawn over the last one. Some of DC's movies get critical acclaim because they are truly the work of their directors who stick to their movie, not a generic movie studio formula. That can boom and that can bust, but it can make terrific movies
Exactly!! The Joker, Dark Knight trilogy, suicide squad 2 and a few others have their own style and uniqueness. Even the latest Batman with Robert Pattinson was different.

Yes, Exactly people aren't bored of Superhero Movies they're bored of MCU messing with Marvel comic's stories and characters. In THOR 5 they destroyed Thor's & Gorr's character , Comics are super amazing but in movie they showed every character cracking jokes, doing silly things in every 5 seconds, that doesn't make people laugh that makes them frustrated that why in a serious situation characters aren't serious....

Huge budgets paired with characters few care about is a recipe for disaster. Guardians had the benefit of debuting during peak MCU. However, in the current lackluster MCU, it's a big risk. Look no further than The Marvels. Disney and too many hands at Marvel are ruining this franchise.

Hiring C-listers is no longer cutting it so that's why they are going for Pedro now. They hired C-listers for Eternals, Ms Marvel, Shang-Chi and Moon Knight, none of those franchises took off so its not a consistently proven formula.

Eternals literally bragged about its Star Studed Cast, with Kamal Najiani, Richard Madden, Bryan Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Ben Skarsgard, etc. All of them either starred in Major Motion Pictures or Award Winning Shows, that's far from C-list.
Shang Chi starred a relatively unknown but the side cast with Akwafina plus the famous Chinese actors they casted to play his parents are far from C-listers.
Ms. Marvel they casted a fangirl, that's straight up unknown and lower than C-list and their most profitable and best performing Disney+ MCU show. Loki's big here in the US, but Ms. Marvel has that international appeal.
Moon Knight had ETHAN HAWKE AND OSCAR ISSAC. Nuff said lol, they are both FAR from C-Listers my guy.

This video is pretty spot on, rare for IGN. But 2 things that should be added to this list is their current pushed on characters that weren't popular or successful in their source material and the overabundance of activists instead of creatives in the writer's room/bts. Not only are you focusing or unpopular characters but also letting them be written by people that cant tell stories
