      Taylor follows his own rules or principles. He does not seem to give a Penalty, unless the offense clearly impeded a good opportunity to score and he's generally very forgiving with Yellow and Red cards too (and I like his refereeing style in the majority of the cases). I could understand and expect for him not to give penalties on handball offenses stopping a side-cross such as Roma's one, or even the penalty Germany was given against Demnark I`m sure Taylor would not give it... for me, rules should be changed and those instances should lead to a 2-touch free-kick at the spot where the offense took place, not a penalty (unless it was a fully intentional handball). But when the handball offense (intentional or not) stops a clear goal-bound shot and he refuses to give it, thats a bit too much in my opinion.

    Everyone using the Offside as an excuse but the explanation was worse. The Offside wasn't even clear since the Spain Knee looks in line with Germany player.
    The explanation was that it wasn't an intentional position of the hand. They have to stop making excuses to justify a decision or stop changing the rules every year.
    It was clear before if you make your body larger with your hands its hand. The hand was extended and completely block the ball.
    Or just go back to the basics either mark ANY hand in the area as penalty or mark hands as indirect free kick from inside the area. I don't know why they stop using that foul decision.
    Football either evolve or not. Don't stay in between since all these changes are making the game more confusing and worse. It's not helping at all.

    Normally if the arm is pointing downwards towards the ground then a penalty is not given . In this case, Cucurrella is leaning over, so we have the ambiguous situation that his arm is pointing downwards but separate from his body at the same time. On the other hand, he involuntarily deflects a shot on goal. The ref interprets that his arm is in a natural position and it's involuntary. One of those cases where you can argue for and against, though another ref might have given a penalty. Fulkrug's possible offside should also have been VAR-checked, not least because there's also a current of opinion claiming he also used his upper arm to control the ball when it bounced. As for Kroos, several yellow-card tackles from him went unpunished. The tackle with which he injured Pedri was verging on the red. He also injured Fabian and stamped on Jamal's foot. Still, Kroos is a great player and it will be sad to see him go

      Nonsense. It’s not about the arm pointing down. It’s about the arm is aligned and touches the body and is not moving far away from it through the air. The player bends his body to one side to block the shot and covers the other side with his arm. Foul. Penalty. Nothing else.

    • @rollingthunder9579
      @rollingthunder9579 Месяц назад

      @@philkeh He doesn't lean over to block the shot, he's just off balance. And the UEFA rules do say that if an arm is " predominantly vertical", it's not a penalty...but, of course, as he's leaning over, gravity does pull his arm from his body, so you could also argue his body has become bigger. Basically, this whole controversy is the ref's fault: he should have checked VAR for possible handballs and offsides.

Just before Musiala plays the ball, he jumps up with wide arms and in the moment Musiala is playing the ball, Cucurellas right arm is already behind his back while his left arm is not! In this match the most upsetting thing wasn’t even the penalty, but the bucket load of unnecessary yellow cards he handed out.

Why on earth is he, of all people, a UEFA referee? And is refereeing the most important matches of the competition? Trouble is guaranteed with him on the pitch.

    That is a clear penalty since his hand obstructed the trajectory of a shot at goal. His hans where not on his side at the time of the shot, rather he had his arm extended and at the second the shot went off he lowered his hand towards his body, probably to tuck in his arm, but that motion made him BLOCK the shot WITH his HAND.
    For anyone arguing there was a player offside before it was not called by the side line, and right before the shot that player might have been offside, but the ball was a shot at the goal and NOT a pass.
    If that ball was not a goal and instead a rebound going to a german player, then yes its offside.

The arm increases the body shape significantly. If a shot on goal is blocked by an arm that is not touching the body but is loose in the air, it’s a penalty. Simple. This was a clear penalty. Ever seen defenders take their hands behind their back while defending a shot? Because if not and the arm is touching the ball, it’s penalty. Every child who plays football knows this. It's funny, he was moving his hands from an 'unnatural' position to a natural position to literally block the shot from going in, and it's not given, and again, by an PL referee

    • @kostadinpanov4596
      @kostadinpanov4596 Месяц назад +1

      Yes,just because youre moving your hand from an unnatural to a natural position,doesnt mean that you can't intentionally block the shot. He could have lifted his arm upwards in order to avoid the ball,but he kept it downwards and moved it to a natural position towards his body,hoping that the ball would strike his arm and knowing that it would not be called as a penalty.

    Just review the video, not still pictures. It was offside and handball by Füllkrug before Musiala's kick. Additionally, Wirtz was also offside in the exact trajectory of Musiala's kick towards the goal. Therefore, the referee had not one but three reasons to disallow the penalty. If it had been reviewed by VAR, they could have chosen up to three reasons to invalidate the action and award a free kick to Spain.

    • @migennepravishta9485
      @migennepravishta9485 Месяц назад +1

      The still frame picture is from Spanish medias, and even they could not manipulate it enough to make it look like offside (unless they`d photoshop out Laporte's knee, which I saw in a Reddit post). Fullkrug controlled the ball with a combination of chest and upper part of his arm, which based on the current rules, is NEVER considered a handball offense (the arm, down to the end of the short shirt sleeves, is considered legal part to control or touch the ball with). Stop making excuses and move on. A pool of 25,000 English fans ended up with 68% of them accepting that the Penalty given to them against Holland, should have NEVER been given... why cant you Spanish fans man up and simply accept the "gift" Referee Taylor gave to you instead of bringing up baseless assumptions!?

    He CLEARLY stopped an attempt at goal with a part of the body that isnt allowed to do so. Whether es tried to get his hand out of the way is irrelevant to that. And since his hand isnt even on his body but out for like 10 cm its handball and a penalty.

      @@tanyazhukova7186 I dont think He was offside. If he really was offside its far too close to be certain and the ref should have checked with var (but ofc he didnt). For the Handball of füllkurg it was shoulder which isnt Handball. If the ref wanted to get rid of this controversy he would have made that call immediatly and everyone would be quiet. But he didnt so its fair to say that anthony Taylor is just a shitty ref and should have checked that Situation because its far to much at stake here to go with a feeling

    Fullkrug is not offside rookie, arm doesnt count as we all know. The left knee of nº4 puts Fullkrug onside. It wasnt analysed because Anthony Taylor is sure of his decision which is wrong influenced by the angle of vision from the position that he is

Instead the fans call it dribble without the ball, so It doesn't matter where fullkrug was standing, as long as he wasn't in a situation where he touches the ball when he is in an offside position

    1. You can't justify not given penalty with not given offside;
    2. about the offside - the hand should not be included in these kind of situations!
    3. the shot is right into the target and if the GK saves it it could be a miracle. No matter if the hand is in passive or in active position!
