I'm surprised that this channel doesn't have more subs/views. Production quality is great and the projects are interesting. You gotta do a collab or something. Or just do what every single other automotive youtuber does and buy a burnt/crashed lamborghini.
A nice upgrade for the zs interior is fitting the steering wheel from an mg tf/ f. I all you need is the steering wheel, airbag and rotary coupler. It's about an inch smaller diameter compared to the standard wheel which makes it a bit nicer to drive. Love the vids keep it up!
Yeah, I've just been more busy with my day job etc, and haven't been putting the effort into doing videos of late. I do have lots of stuff I should get some work going on, though.
Hi Dave, just watched this video again as I have the Civic Version of your Rover, the Aerodeck. Did try and do the DD conversion where it involves moveing the heater controls ect down then doing pretty much what you have done there but from the radio opening downwards instead of upwards. Console turned out beutiful but I never fitted it as then found I'd beed to cut away a fair bit of metalwork to allow the dd unit back into the dash. Did have a look at your way where it's moved up (and a much better position imo as it's a nice height for using it/watching the navigation)) but noticed I'd be left without the two top securing screws for securing the top of the console in place (the screws that are normally hidden behind the heated Re screen switch and the hazard switch). I notice on your fitment, those two plastic brackets are removed from the console, so just wondering how you secured the top part of the console to the dash again? Deffo linking your conversion better, looks much better at top of the console.
@@davidthomson7517 I sold it a few years back, annoyingly someone hit me and put a massive dent in the door just as I was doing so, but ah well! Yes, they're definitely not common, if I'd held onto it it'd probably gone up in value a bit, but you can't hang on to everything
@@InitialDave so true mate. My late best friend had the 2 litre 400iS was an awesome car too. I've had the deck for over 18 years now, was my late wifes car. She always wanted one so when we got it she went to town on it and sent it to Transcal UK for a full custom leather return (which cost more than the car was worth at the time!). She loved it and bought lots of OEM accessories for it from Honda like the lip kit, boot spoiler, wind deflectors etc. Honestly couldn't bring myself to sell it although have thought about it a couple of times. Still in amazing condition too
I’ve got to ask, why didn’t you make the front panel in one piece instead of joining two bits together? Looks really good and your a dab hand with the Dremel!
I'd say it's the kind of thing that's more fiddly rather than difficult, as long as you have some proper cupronickel brake pipe and bending and flaring tools, the hassle is routing it around all the other stuff in the engine bay rather than anything explicitly technical. However, it's worth check if there's even anything wrong with it - if a brake pipe is covered in paint, grease, underseal etc, an MOT inspector will often note it using the same advisory code as is used for corrosion, to cover themselves because they can't be 100% sure it's ok.
Afraid I've never driven one! But by the numbers, I think there's only about 10% in it compared to the 1.8 version, 110bhp vs 120bhp. Probably a noticeable gap from those to the V6 version, but on the other hand, they'll be a bit lighter.

I have just bought my first 3d printer and wanted to use it for my mg and other project cars but I have been watching videos that say pla doesnt last very long outdoors or under hot conditions so im now a bit concerned with what filament I should use for any car parts.
I didn't, but with the filling and bonding into the original frame, it was fairly well supported, I've made other interior pieces with PLA (including with quite a thin wall), and not had a problem with them.

Ah, it's because the complete panel is slightly wider than the bed on my 3D printer, so I couldn't do it as a single piece.

Yes, it's entirely possible it's just that, then. But if the pipe does need replacing, it's not the worst job to do in a car.
