Experiencing China - Tea Culture

On the afternoon of March 15, under the guidance of Professor Yuan Youmin, faculty and students from the International College of #chinaacademyofart (CAAIC) and EDNA Joint Institute, CAA (NACAA) visited Changdai Village in #Hangzhou to participate in an "Experiencing China" themed activity.
In a lecture titled "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚 • 𝐓𝐞𝐚 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 • 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐀𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬," Professor Yuan led Chinese and international teachers and students to explore the deeper value of traditional Chinese culture through the fragrance of tea. He shared insights into the intrinsic connections between tea culture and traditional Chinese culture, delved into the foundational essence of the spirit of tea, and highlighted the aesthetic and philosophical wisdom of Eastern art as well as tea-culture-inspired design works.
After the lecture, students followed a tea master to appreciate the art of tea and then ventured into terraced tea fields to experience the integration of cultural heritage and nature.
This #ExperiencingChina micro-course was not only a profound journey into the richness of traditional Chinese culture but also a vibrant practice in connecting with nature and society, practicing cultural inheritance among both Chinese and international faculty and students.
