Instead of shutting down fan projects. The game companies should be like we own this franchise and characters. You made an amazing game, we're taking it and are going to distribute it, but you'll get a cut from each sale. It's a win/win situation for them. They didn't have to spend a huge budget on staff, developers and making the game.
These graphics evolution comparisons are always good fun. You could post a 1000 videos based on this alone. Saw your promotion post on reddit. Liked and subbed. (and yes...watched until the end) I wanna help boost other new channels like mine. Good luck!

mario does not work in a realistic environment in my opinion. But some of these did look pretty decent. Sonic Utopia probably being my favourite one (ironically enough, the only one that isn't actually a remake) but some of these kinda feel like that one really weird demo that some guy made where it has mario running around in a field with deer. Just not all that great
I love lists. You presented the video in clear and well edited fashion, your audio lvls need work though. The game music was significantly louder than your vocal which can create a to loud affect after I turn up your voice, I am sure you can get better at that with davinici or whatever your using to put your stuff together. Either way a solid list man, I subbed and I hope you catch some traction on RUclips you did really well.
considering how amazing these remakes are, it would have been awesome for the companies to consider the potential of the fans and recruit them for future projects. it's really sad that that's not the case.
People don't seem to realize that Nintendo is powerless to stop these people from remaking these games. It's only until they start trying to make money can Nintendo get involved. That's why the Zelda thing has gone unnoticed. CryZENx is free to remake anything he wants. However Nintendo might try to stop him from posting videos using Nintendo assets to RUclips but they can't stop him from remaking the game.
Awesome VID man, i love Tomb Rider and Metal GS the most!!! 1 year ago or so i start thinking "it would be EPIC if Konami remastered Catlevanias (metroidvanias), starting with SotN, the 3 of GBA and the 3 from NDS: to make them have sounds and graphics like Bloodstained RotN... Some one else want to Konami make this type of remastered too???

I don’t believe the Zelda one was unnoticed, I genuinely believe Nintendo is impressed by the fan adaptation and are waiting to see what he’s going to do with it
The problem is that the companies want to mobilize the merchandise like leaving the graphics a certain level until it's time to improve the merchandise. Then when a fan made games shows with a better game even for free they'll take action to make it spread to the whole world and keep their status. What they'll take sometimes from months to 1 year the fan made games take up more than 3 years as minimum if done by one fan modder alone. If there's a copyright about modders then the players and game makers can't chase their dreams even if don't get a job there, they'll can do it in their home. What a waste even if they'll take their characters the whole game stage/music/sounds were replaced by the fan they'll have their rights from the originality for that fan made game. Then don't put the copyrighted character and replace something close or something else. The characters rights are for them but the game are for the maker. The fans have to negotiate with them to sell your rights about your game set. Then the characters final touch will be to them. But not everyone knows how the copyright law works in each country so if someone manage to collect them and put it in one video it will help every fan gamer cause.
Most of these games look wrong As they have these weird visuals that look bad as the textures arent the best but they have a few effects and people are like: omg this looks amazing (Metroid prime does look good)
Company's that take down remakes like this are just jealous. Whole teams of people to make one scene for the company, meanwhile one person on their pc at home said "gabbagoo what it do" and made a whole remake by themselves in less time than it took the real devs. Goofy
Sonic Utopia is not made in Unreal Engine 4. It's made in Unity. So it's wrong to list it in this top 7 video. But Utopia is a great fan made demo regardless.
I know someone will definitely hate me for this but I personally prefer the old less detailed textures, lighting and models in half life 2. It isnt nostalgia but I feel the fan remake looks too polished and clean for the dark, uncanny and uncomfortable feel the combine would give. I think it would look better in a half life Alyx remake where it's more action than horror
cause they just slap a bunch of uneditied UE4 effects on top of imported assets without taking the artstyle and vision of the original into consideration.

I just loved the Tomb Raider remake in UE4. It was massively impressive.

Remakes in UE4 is great but what is THE most worthy game of a remake in the latest iteration of the Unreal Engine? Well, it's UNREAL of course.
