Koleda was my first S rando so made a team with Ben and Lucy. Worked absurdly well and now using S11 (instead of Lucy) the team has slightly more punch. Couldn't imagine separating Koleda from Ben seeing how well they synergise.
I can't wait to play her with Lucy and the teased flamethrower girl (I suspect S rank anomaly or dps for SOC squad) as a fire anomaly team. Her EX aoe is surprisingly large, has I frames, and because it's aoe can begin applying anomaly across a group while stunning
Did you also play Soldier 11-Koleda-Lucy? I am playing this team and building these characters along the way. I am just wondering if replacing Lucy with Ben would be better for my team or not. Luckily I got him at M6 yesterday on Zhu Yuans banner, so I was wondering to build him or not.
@@hisdudeness690lucy for more damage, ben for more comfort (generally). If you dont care about comfort and is a god gamer with ben's parry (and have his signature), with ben you can deal more damage since ben's counter has ridiculous counter damage and is guaranteed crit if you have his sig.
i want to try using koleda. so far when i tried using her, i don't think i fully understand how she plays yet, so i did not enjoy as much using her. but i do like how she and ben works together, especially in ult
They only synergize until Ben gets M6, then they become redundant and interchangeable. If you've ben pulling for ZY and ended up with a M6 Ben, try dropping Koleda to put Lucy back in. If you have Koleda mindscapes, though, I'd do the opposite and drop Ben for Lucy. Either way, you're going to get a lot more damage out of Soldier 11 running a stunner and a support instead of Koleda+Ben, which is basically two stunners.
Ben is seriously overlooked. He, and I assume future defense characters, are fairly flexible in terms of what you want them to be IMO. He's in my fire comp with 11 and Lucy/Nicole to give 11 that crit rate buff and my support the armor to build up meter. I think the best disc drive build for him is a two-pair set of Soul Rock, Swing Jazz, and Shockstar Disco. His stats and 4-6 should be Defense %, Energy Regen, and Impact % in that respective order. Spend time fighting to build meter and get back meter while dealing BIGGER damage to set up your DPS for a higher crit rate.
Ben has such a amazing damage that people didn't expect since he's a defense unit. His sig weapon plus his M2 makes for some big damage with his counter
Oh thanks I've been using Ben wrong. Reading skills is tough. I'm going to go 4pc impact set for my fire team which is S11, Ben and Lucy. I don't have a stunner and already have a support so I think that's more efficient to make him a makeshift stunner
i am personally using 2pc soul rock, 4pc swing jazz - this, i feel, is the better way to go. So that I can essentially rotate swing jazz between lucy, and ben. Also, 4pc impact is kinda useless on how i play ben because i just use him for that juicy 1charge assist block, and of course use ben's skill whenever i don't have the shield (crit rate) buff anymore
4pc impact doesn't benefit Ben at all since it only buffs basic attacks, dash attacks and dodge counters; none of which Ben excels at. You ideally only want Ben to occasionally E twice for the shield when he has enough energy, so 4p jazz + 2p impact is better.

you can actually use Ben ex special as a counter instead of holding it down and wait for the enemy to hit you. You take zero dmg (but doesnt switch out the rotation)
right now im using ben a makeshift stunner with 4pc shockstar since i dont have any stunners besides anby and even though hes not the best his survivability and cc makes him pretty comfy
I love Ben. He's *by far* my favorite character design, and I think the current banners are going to lead to a bunch of people realizing that he's better than they thought! Especially because you can switch off of him as soon as the animation starts for his EX Special Followup Attack and still get the shield and crit buff.
I’m guessing he has potential for subDPS. Pre IK 40, I was playing him with Lucy and Piper and I was surprised with how much damage Ben can output, sometimes even taking top position at the calculations screen. (Granted, I was probably not doing perfect rotations and staying on Ben for longer than necessary)
I think the reason why he's taking the top position in calculation screen was because of damage + daze calculation, if not how else he managed to get top score in most fight he's in. 😅
apart from calculation screen showing daze + damage as someone above said; even post IK 40, his multipliers are just really high and Minscapes help quite a bit too; eventually if could scale even more with cr/cd because why not but then you need Def for split scaling and tanking, atk for raw skill scaling, cr and cd too so it starts getting tricky but is def possible; someone has a showcase of him doing 100k on counter at lvl 40 so yeah
Been having trouble using Ben without the other S-Rank pyromaniacs, so this guide really helps how to make the most of him where the enemy can’t stand the heat, or just Ben himself.
M6 on-field Ben is the only character in the game I run triple 2-piece on (2 piece Swing Jazz, Soul Rock, and Shockstar Disco). I run him in a Lucy/S11/Ben comp, and because M6 Ben spends more time on field and is both a buffer and the stunner, I just haven't found that any of the 4 piece bonuses are better than the extra 2 piece stats.
I actually commented on your Zhu Yuan guide about whether I should build Von Lycaon or Ben for my Anton/Zhu Yuan build and the timing of this video couldn't have been better. Thanks for the guide, as always!
I have Ben in my anomoly team with Piper and Lucy. Lucy on swing jazz, Ben on freedom blues, anomaly mastery on slot 4, defense on 5 and 6. Can always guarantee burn between him and Lucy and just swapping to Piper to proc assault for consistent disorder procs.
I am a benjamin enjoyer and my team with him is. Koleda benjamin and zhu yuan. I use him as a good support. Koleda(mine is m1) does the daze, Zhu Yuan(m0) does good damage(crit rate normaly is like 45%) and Benjamin(m6) does a lot of damage and stun if i mix up the team rotations. I use him alot and everywhere as a support/dps/defender/stun unit
My current team is soldier 11, anby and lucy thinkin if i should switch anby for ben until i get koleda. Tried out ben at lvl 10 and the team feels 10x better already then it was with anby at level 40 and fairly built
If you aren't a big fan of Nicole/Anby, Zhu Yuan/Ben/Lucy is very comfy. Ben providing both offensive and defensive support to Zhu Yuan with Lucy's also massive stat boosts has been very fun to play around with. Requires building Ben a bit unconventionally but it absolutely works
@@eru_barth Ben is geared towards impact with the impact W engine and shockstar set. It's really not too bad since the boars do contribute to stun bar so they help balance Ben's output. It's a little slower than just running the f2p team for stunning but if your Zhu Yuan still isn't completely geared up it's more comfy. On Nicole/Anby I get more stuns but less HP and less generalized damage. Ben/Lucy you can kinda lazily face tank garbage mobs and in boss fights it's much easier to keep everyone alive. With Lucy and Ben buffs I'm keeping Zhu out more as on field DPS than a burst swap in. I'm mostly using Ben and Lucy as the swap ins to refresh buffs
He’s my first c6 character in ZZZ. Gonna put him on one side of Shiyu with Soldier and Lucy. The other side will have Neko, Piper and Anby. Any thought? Recently lost 50 on Zhu’s banner to Grace, should I replace Ben with her instead?
What do you think of building shockstar on Ben to use him as a substitute as a stun? I don't have any other stun other than anby, and the only notable pick for my second team is either m2 Ben or M6 soukaku for my grace-anton duo.
I have Ben M6R3 and I'm hesitating whether to build: - Koleda/Ben/Lucy mono fire (but who's gonna be the main dps here?) - Koleda/Lucy/Piper - Koleda/Ben/Piper Piper is M1 without her weapon but I got Grace weapon instead
The main problem here is Nicole’s bonus ability won’t be active, so she should probably be switched for someone else if you want a better powered team. If you have Anton he’d probably be a better choice and would be the DPS. If you have Piper she is probably also a better choice. Lucy or maybe Piper might actually be the better DPS’s here but in any case it might actually want to be built towards being a disorder team rather than DPS team per se.
Anton is an option for a faction-based team - not the best DPS but he’s fine. I’m assuming you don’t have Grace but she might also work. You could use rocketboo or safetyboo. Lucy might work as the only other Fire character - DPS Lucy is a thing apparently. Use rocketboo.

You can go 2pc Impact set. 4pc doesn't do much for him and then build all defense + atk

Ben’s signature weapon is pretty bonkers. Felt the difference right away. Love his slower play style, feels more deliberate.

Don't you have trouble building stun on bosses? Zhu Yuan definitely wants them stunned as frequently as possible for her burst damage windows
