Bush man you might want to paint some wax around the holes. The bees looked like they were slipping on the plastic. Just an idea...

The crust forms because of moisture in the air. Even 1% humidity will make any powder crust up. Holes in the bottom stops a lot of new air getting to the pollen as compared to an opening at the top

Ehhh... Suggestion? Put some tape over the holes and rip that off AFTER you tip the bucket over? Greetings from Holland! :)

In the rare occasion where I have to use pollen substitute, I use it fresh. If I wouldn't feel happy using it to make a good loaf of bread for myself then it isn't good enough for my bees. Old stale crusty stuff goes in the compost.

You may want to put a board or something over the top of the pollen. That way the rains don't dampen it and make it like concrete.

Hey Bush bee man, how many times can u harvest a year from one hive

    • @furbs_b779

Depending on your area. In Bermuda we harvest twice a year, primarily once end of the year (November)
