This is me making a 21 Savage "redrum" type beat in FL Studio. This is how to make hard sample trap beats for artists like 21 Savage in FL Studio 21. I listened to the album "american dream" by 21 Savage this morning and just had to make something similar lol. I kept it nice and simple. How do you find what key you’re in after pitching a sample? For example, if I were to find a random piano melody on RUclips, how would I know what key it’s in to add other elements like different melodies and drums without it sounding off tune?

You just need to get something that sounds cool that you want (doesn’t have to be in tune with your first sample) then pitch it up or down till it sounds good

A lot of it comes down to training your ear - otherwise, you can find the key of the original on something like tunebat by searching or dropping it into the key detector. Then pitching it up or down 100 cents = 1 half step. So if it’s c minor and you pitch it up 100 cents it would then be c#m and so on. Then it’s just a matter of pitching all external samples to the same key and staying in key with your drums. Hope this helps bro
