It is definitely interesting content :) I don't even have kids, but I watch your videos and tell all my friends about your bargains 😂 Maybe I am the crazy one? Haha! Thanks for being so down to earth!
Me again, I find school dinners tiny portions so brilliant for fussy eaters to try at school and its amazing what a bit of peer pressure does! I still did a cooked meal at night even when they had school dinner.
I was about to leave a similar comment 🤣 I don't have children yet I love these types of videos, bargains or not it's so interesting and entertaining to me haha
My baby girl has just gone for hee first half day in nursery. And I went completely excessive with the uniform. Spent a fortune! Thoroughly enjoyed this video which I started watching this morning as i made lunches! Love your content!!!! Very down to earth, relatable and interesting. ❤❤❤
I know you’re a lover of the after books and I can’t believe the second one film I’d coming out today, I’m going to see it in cinemas on Saturday and I can not wait. Hope you and the girls are doing well in the pandemic xx
Love your vlogs. She is going to be so happy once she is in her uniform and mum is going to burst into tears. Always so heartsore especially now with all this happening. You will also have some time with florence until one day it will be her turn. You did well at the shops with her clothes xxx❤take care
Hehe, I wanted to reply to so many of the comments you made in the video! Hand me downs are fine, my son had some last year and the next trousers are still going strong! I find 6 shirts and 6 trousers for a week are what I need, I don't have to get it all done at the weekend, he always has one for Monday. He did PE in reception and did and is now being home reading books. I was shocked how how cheap Aldi was for uniform, I had already brought my son's uniform for the year but had to pick up a pair of trousers, just to see how they last. My daughter starts next year and I'm already confused about all the different uniform configurations she can have! Boys are much simpler!
I totally got what you meant re: grey colour/quality. My kid are 14 and 11. I did 1 uniform a day for primary, as you say, takes pressure of turning washing around. I never bought branded uniform for primary. Have no choice for secondary, start saving now!! I like your buying technique, you have a baby at home and I wouldn’t want to be searching for uniform mid year, very savvy having it in your stash x
You are such a savvy shopper Jess, the shoes were an absolute bargain. We did exactly the same when my son was P's age. Always planned ahead clothes wise and also for Xmas and birthdays. Jess I know you've said you can't do 'whites, hope this helps. My mum taught me how to keep whites white. Wash whites and the lightest of colours together. You have to use PersiI I know its more expensive but so worth it to preserve the whiteness. Add in a powdered stain remover, Vanish I find is the best. Every so often for white socks and school shirts use the white brightener sachets they work really well. Hope that helps💗
I've had my 3 children off since March hitch has been really tough as they're 5, 9 & 13 making homeschooling difficult, I've also been working throughout which has been challenging. I don't think I'll ever forget 2020 and not for the good memories! You got some good bargains on school uniform, I don't think 16polo shirts for the year is excessive as they tend to get a bit shapeless and they never stay clean no matter how much vanish goes in the machine. The shoes were an absolute steal you did really well with those, I always got the boys Clark's but they would only last a term before they'd been destroyed by football games, climbing, scuffing, scootering to and from school I now buy the George Asda ones for £10 and I buy about 3 pairs a year which is still £10 less annually than a pair of Clark's at £40 a pair. You'll find your own way with uniform but you've definitely got the right idea making things as easy as possible, I have a similar system with lunch boxes and have everything on a rotation basis it's like running a circus in my house 😂 Love your videos ♥️
Out youngest is supposed to be starting this week and although we have made the decision to offset her for the next year due to the situation this is making me excited for her for next year :) she’ll be starting school in year one.
Hiya Jess....hope you're ok! You remind me SO MUCH of myself when my son and daughter started school...I used to look for very good quality that was durable but looked good! The shoes you bought from JL...WOW...AMAZING! they're so smart and girlie and the price you paid...bargain! Everything had to match, even her hair bobbles...yes you're so like me but you want them to look smart for school. Fantastic haul and the prices you paid....BRILLIANT!!
God watching this makes me realise I was soo unorganised this year for my oldest going back! 😂 He went back few weeks ago (we start in August in Scotland) and they left it all to last minute as rules kept changing. One minute they weren’t allowed school bags etc had to be disposable bags if takin packed lunch... then they said they would be allowed so queue mad dash to get a bag etc. Then they still arent allowed pencil cases etc they are getting it all provided. School dinners are a cold packed lunch aswell they arent providing hot meals yet. Us parents arent allowed in school grounds either except nursery/P1 parents. Xx
My son is 2 days younger than P and honestly it scares me that he’s old enough for school 😩 but like you said about P he is soooo ready and needs it! Didn’t know Lidl and Aldi’s uniform was so cheap! Will definitely be baring that in mind for next year! We got all of ours from asda and I thought that was cheap but it’s nothing compared to theirs! 🤣
They’ll be fine 😘😘 if anything we are all so excited for the next chapter! They will change so much with this next year 😱 defo check it out, they still have some bits in! xxx
I’ve found the best tights are from Matalan, they sell various ones but one of their packs has a waist band with a band of elastic sewn into the top as well as stretchy material - these are the only ones I’ve found that don’t keep falling down x
This lasted the length of time it took me to wash and dry up - perfect! Thanks for entertaining me during a really boring chore! Haha. Good luck to Phoebe starting school! :) xx
We have to wash uniform every single day or wear new uniform everyday and then wash end of the week but they have said for safety to still wash everyday so any germs are kept at bay In your home xx
I really enjoy your videos, love this video having 2 kids going in to primary 1 and primary 4! Love how p's school doesnt mind logos and you can grab the bargins, for my kids school we need logos 1 cardigan with logo cost £15 each! Cost so much for uniforms🙈
That bloody heatwave... i was sweating in places i never knew i could sweat in 🤷♀️ Thanks for sharing! Love the uniforms, would make my life so much easier. We dont have that in most schools in Belgium
I loved this video ahha could listen to you waffle on about school uniforms for hours 😂 I wish my kids school was just plain jumpers but they have school logo’s on them cost me a small fortune 🙄 Luckily I can pass my older sons jumpers down to my youngest xx
My daughter is starting aswell. I got her uniform in M and s when it had 25 % off. Actually wasn’t too badyly priced. You got a barg with those shoes x
I find Sainsbury’s uniform really short! I normally get all mine from Asda. Had a couple of cardigans and polo shirts from morrisons that are really good quality but a tad more expensive 😀
I’m excited for my son to go back he’s five and enjoyed the first half of his first year then Covid hit and ruined it he loves school and I’m sure p will love it be brave for day back but if we’re honest we will all have a sneaky tear and Hugh sigh of relief to have some peace and in ur case all the baby snuggles xxx
Both my kids are in key stage 2 now 😬😩 they both need shirts so I always go for the M&S ones non iron of course because I am lazy 🤦🏻♀️ 100% recommend the M&S uniform in the 25% sale, I buy enough for clean every day and the whole uniform lasts me the whole year (they don’t grow as much now as they did) Matalan by far are the best school shoes I’ve found. My kids aren’t allowed backpacks after I’ve spent a small fortune on them 🙃 white wash I was crap like you 😘 always wash all the uniform on a Friday, whites seperate and I always pop a little bit of vanish in as well and any stains I spray elbow grease on xx
rip mothercare had me in tears🤣🤣🤣loved this video, I defo agree with you on the skirts, aldi’s skirts look more professional & nicer quality, lidi’s skirts are not worth it considering it’s a whole year in size🥰can’t believe P is starting big school, I have been watching you for years when P was only a baby, time flies
Omg Jess I think I need to buy more 🙈 ive only got 2 shirts thought I would put them on rotation... I think I may need to pay a visit to the store again 😬. Unfortunately we have to have our schools logo trousers, skirt & jumper so can't grab the 50p jumpers 😭
I’d definitely recommend getting more, even just one more would help so you have one they’re wearing, one in the wash and one spare for the next day. Wash every 2-3 days then
To my surprise my daughter still fits in all of her uniform from last year! She turned 6 in June. I've just bought new tights and socks as i seem to have a certain skill for shrinking them 😂x
I remember I commented on your first school uniform haul when P was starting nursery and my first daughter was 18 months old then and now she's just turned 3 and she starts nursery in a few weeks! Its come round so so quick 🙈 I'm so nervous for her and the change and I know I'm gonna be a mess especially if/when she gets upset with me leaving her 😣xxx
Hey jess check the socks fit, my little boy has just gone into a size 9 shoe so bought 9-12 sock and they were huge had to return them and go back to 6-8.5 xxxx
My childrens school they do pe in reception. When they go back they will be staying in yr bubbles. Like reception & year 1. Yr 2 & yr 3. Vice versa. They don't want children taking in school bags at the moment due to covid 19. You may receive more information from school just before P starts school.
You’re so lucky, most infant n juniors schools round me you have to have the school logo on sweatshirts n cardigans n pe tops.i had to take in waistband of skirts for my girl,Scary phoebe is going into school, my little angel is now 16 n going off to college, which is equally as scary x💖x
Rip mothercare 😅 Isabella is an 8.5 E too! What a barg! Isabella will have PE on a Friday so I’m stressing about what would be the best thing for her to wear so she can get herself dressed easily again 😂 x
I have 6 polos, 5 dresses, 12 black pants, 6 tights, 6 knee high socks, 2 pairs of shoes, 2 school badge cardigans, 1 bag, 1 lunch bag, 1 personalised bottle and that WILL last her the whole school year lol xxxx
I cant believe our girls are off to school! 😪 well done with the shoes, we spent (hubby) £80 on 2 pairs in clarks 😯 I do like logo cardigans but our school supplier is shite so I go logo free also. Hope you post a pic so we can see her on her big day x x x x x x
Hi when my girls were at school I used to wash there school shirts and socks in ace for white best thing ever. I would soak them over night ( job lot weeks ) best results With school jumper I used to just hang them straight out washing machine kept there shape really well. I don't think you have gone over board best to have to much. Might be worth buying a label machine you can get reels for uniform then you can write what you like. Be prepared for losing water bottles mine went thought so many and hair bands think you have a good stash lol Enjoy getting all her bits ready it goes way to fast xxxx
Phoebe & Me yeah I think the iron on sheet is pretty expensive. Actually waiting for some I ordered ages ago and I’ve heard the quality and service has gone downhill lately 😖
We were when P went back, but had to stay there until she finished following day! Might be same thing in sept, take in on mon, brought home on fri! xxx
Believe it's just England that get free school dinners in infants. I'm in Wales and they don't give free school dinners unless your low income. Be nice if they were free though!
I live in Northern Ireland only families on low incomes are entitled to free school meals . Didn’t know that in England everyone got free meal . Interesting 🧐
I love watching jess so much, she could be talking about rubbish bins and I'd still watch 😂🤣💕
