- Ok guys got a lil video of some blow by issues on a 6.4 powerstroke . It's pretty much information on blow by and how to determine if there is a concern! I'm sure I'm leaving a lot of info out but I'm not trying to get too technical. If there is anything we can help y'all with please feel free to contact us, were always willing to help!

Just wanted to say, this is the best walkthrough of a blowby scenario. Im dealing with this and now I know what level of diagnosis to expect from my mechanic. Much love brother-
Thanks brother! I appreciate your honesty in the fact that before you just throw parts on the truck like the owner wanted, you go through and look for any potential issue that should be addressed first before anything else gets done. Integrity and taking pride in the work you do on these Powerstrokes. As an owner of a 6.4,thank you brother and may God bless you and your family!
there's not enough good techs out there, with guys like you in the trade i'm glad to be a tech, you sound like a good thorough tech, keep up the good work brother
I have a 6.4 and absolutely love this truck . I'm glad I watched this video
Very thorough and nicely explained, thanks!
This is a really helpful video. I'm looking at buying a 6.4 and this really helps me in my shopping
Well spoken brother. God I wish you guys were in south florida.....
Your tutorial is a keeper!!!
Great Video!!!
Great video thanks for the walk thru better understand it now keep up the good work
To my knowledge the only thing that causes blow by are worn piston rings or worn cylinder wall which means a complete rear down of the top end and rebuild. Is this correct?
Appreciate this thank you! Never did a deep dive like this, but is it normal to have zero blow by? My truck doesn’t have any thumps can’t get the cap to bounce at all. The crankcase mist coming out looks like steam from a scoop of rice it doesn’t come pumping out like that. Thanks 🤙🏽
Great video. Keep on keepin’ on my friend.
Very helpful man. Thank you.
Thanks Manny! I just got an 09
Hows ur 6.4 running and how many miles does it have?
How much it cost to fix that blowby?
How can I get in touch with you on the phone
Mi camioneta Le acabo de poner in short block de El dealer y Tiene blow by trabaja Bien sera eso normal
Hello what software you used for laptop
What was the result?
I have blow by on my 2010, 6.4, how much will it cost to rebuild that engine?
To much
edwin rance honestly on a 6.4 I wouldn’t rebuild.. get a new enhanced short block from ford. They come in standard size bores and hold up real nice. If you’d like additional help feel free to contact us.
So what was the result did you have to rebuild it or just fix the problem. My 6.4 is losing oil i don't see a leak anywhere. I need help bad. Thanks
Alfred Revis this 6.4 powerstroke had to be replaced.
I'm going to bring it by and let you'll check it out for me thanks for the response.
Alfred Revis not a problem!
STPDIESEL Houston Diesel Specialist Manny, what had to be replaced? The engine? Rings? Pistons? Can you let me know?
What about a 6.7 powerstroke I looked at a 2012 2014 and 2017 all had alot if smoke or steam coming out of the oil fill was looking to buy one but now im scared
Màrty Dedmon how many miles on them?
@@carlosjaramillojr.6302 120,000 on the 12 and 14 . 19000 on the 17. I found a 2016 f250 6.7 powerstroke with 128000 miles 3300 hours 800 idle hours did not do it I decided to purchase that one. Seems to be a good truck . I'm just glad to be out of that 6.0 money pit
What he didnt state was Blow by comes from a piston issue. That would be a whole other issue within itself aside from the injector problem.
Trabajas en duramax tambien
si!
Tengo un problema con mi camion donde me puedes dar una consulta al gun numero de telefono
Buddy you don’t know anything
This problem is only 2 things
#1 piston rings worn out etc...
#2 injector coper seat seal
I don’t need to waste time using stupid computers
I hate “mechanics” confusing the people or sharing useless information
You my friend are very misguided and are the reason why customers have repeat failures. I’m glad you watched though!! 😎😎
I absolutely agree with you some of his info is correct. But the rest is to sell you a rebuild into thousands of dollars
WTF is a coper seal? You’re a fuckin idiot bro,let me guess, you’re the best damn shade tree mechanic in West Virginia right? You specialize in JB Welding on the Kanootering manifolds and the doomahickies?
Eso causaría humo azul en el escape? Cuando aceleró y después de que agarre su temperatura el motor.?
@@bobbysmoke6.4dzl94 You were angry when you wrote this comment, i can tell. To answer your question: A copper seat seal that David Murillo is referring to is the seal on the copper cup that 7.3 and 6.0 injectors rests in. But 6.4L doesn't use copper. They use a fuel injector sleeve cup. Part # 8C3Z-9N951-A. David Murillo was wrong for forgetting the video is discussing a 6.4L Powerstroke. You were wrong for getting emotional. Getting emotional is never a good look for a man.
How much cost for fixing??
Felipe Solano it would really depend buddy..
Hi I have 2008 with new engine only have 30.000 miles and make more smoke that video u showing need take to mechanic I take man put on he say that is normal I pay 19.000 $ for the new engine if u know something let’s me know thanks
So what was done to resolve the blowby and injector 2 problem my 2003 f250 gave me a code p0672 for glow plug circ failure q recomiendas would appreciate any feedback
ernesto cervantes in this scenario the result would’ve engine Teardown to find root cause, in your 2003 it would be different because it’s a circuit code for injector fault more than likely just a bad injector but would recommend some professional diagnostics for sure! Holler if you have any questions or concerns! We’re always willing to help! Www.stpdiesel.com
2010 f350 with some blow by. Been like this for 75k miles. My oil level is a little high after oil change and I did a cab delete with a sending diesel CCV delete kit with a catch can. I ran hose from can back into air box intake. To make a complete circuit. It smoked blue like a son of bitch and oil in my exhaust tips. Put OEM parts back on and went away. Like wth is this? I'm a qrt heavy on extra oil maybe 1-1/2 qrts good it be puking the over fill out?
Much respect and appreciation for all professionals that post these videos to help the community. Do you have a follow up video on this particular truck? I'm experiencing similar problems with my 03 F550. Did not get anything specific from the person that hooked up a diagnostic tool. I was told the engine was most probably done.. that can mean a million things as I'm sure you're aware. Thanks in advance for any assistance
