  • Alex Conrad, an expert in scams, cons, and magic tricks, takes his skills to America to try the most devious hustles ever invented. While these grifts have won people a lot of money, for Alex it's not about the cash, but to see if he's good enough to live the life of a propositional gambler, someone who makes outlandish bets and who always has a trick or a cheat up their sleeve. Join him on his journey to see if he has what it takes to Hustle America.
    Season 1, Episode 1
Inspired by Titanic Thompson, the greatest hustler of all time, Alex Conrad begins his journey in Dallas, Texas, where he engages in a ludicrous proposition bet to get a free car rental upgrade by throwing a walnut over a building. Then, following Titanic Thomson's trail, he hits the road with cons up his sleeve, meeting pool hustlers and card sharks. He tests his mettle by teaching a new dog an old trick, throwing cards to win a hat, and getting chased by a man in an elevator.

A word to the wise, as my ole step Papi used to say, pretty sure real TT didn't wear clip on suspenders. U can get away with in certain situations w certain peeps, however, for hustlers et al look the part, so peeps think u r the part. Plus, looks so much more fashionable & smart.
    Great stuff tho.

it also helps that you make up fake stories about how gloriously clever you are, as was the case of TT and it also helps that you pay off your marks as was the case of this idiotic show

    Its entertaining though
Its more about demonstrating the cons . .
Doesnt really matter if its set up for the show

except these cons will not work in real life-pull off your shirt in a hat store and expect the employee to give you a hat for free out of her own pocket-its not going to work Seriously, if you are an employee would you buy a guy a hat out of your own pocket because he pulled off his shirt, try to picture yourself as the store employee What an idiotic show

itll be more entertaining and genuinely instructing if he went to real stores and rental agencies and tried it on real life people but it cant be done in real life because the producers and that idiot host, who supposedly is an expert conman, know it wouldnt work
This being the case why make the show at all Using paid actors you can achieve anything but reality suffers

except like all conmen TT exaggerated his skills to make himself look good and these tales got expanded as time gone on and were told second hand TT might have been ambidextrous true enough but in real life if he pulled some of those stunts (stunts that are obvious tricks) he would have been seriously crippled by his victims- remember this was the depression and money was hard to come by, you are playing pool and somebody comes in and tries to bet on a walnut he has in his pocket If he tried a stunt like that in real life, he would get beat up by you and your friends, pistol on hip or not
Look this show tried to recreate TT tricks, they just couldnt do it This is obvious by the fact the victims are being paid to act Seriously, do you really think an employee would give out a hat for free because a stranger managed to pull off his shirt? She basically has to pay for the hat If you were in her place-would you pay for the hat or would you rather kick that guy out of your store?
Dont believe anything a person, who has an obviously bad relationship with the concept of truth, says about himself

Dont believe a con artist or a teller of tall tales
How do we know that Titanic Tom was a legend-well ole TT said it about himself
Should we believe somebody who was basically a con artist-no, very likely his tales are greatly expanded in the retelling
In his stories, he basically makes wild bets and the people who lose the bet dont have trouble paying up
Just ask yourself, if TT made some of his suppossed bets with you, bets that are more or less dependent on word interpretation would you give him your hard earned depression era money or would you and your friends beat the living sh.. out of him and tell him to get out of town

Well lots of people who used to know him in the 30s-40s were interviewed and attested to seeing his hustles. And he also killed 5 men who at different times attempted to “beat the living sh..” out of him after he hustled them.

bulls... so the families of the suppossed five dead men never went to the police Look what if your husband, wife or brother-sister got killed-would you let it go? Apparently Tit T killed five people and the relatives of the dead men never wanted revenge Just think about if that what happens in real life Tit T was just a big fantasist @@jeffhendrix2166

this show is so fake, quite obviously the targets were paid to perform- look, seriously you are an employee at a hat shop and some idiot comes in, does some stupid trick and so you give him a hat for free In real life, you, as an employee, will have to pay the owner of the hat shop for the missing hat thus basically you lost a weeks wages because of some idiot
Now ask yourself, is this a type of behavior you would engage in as an employee?-or would you tell that idiot "cute trick but no you arent getting a chapeau unless you pay for it and if you arent paying for it get the f..k out of the store or Ill call the police"
same for all the others-Im sure you as a manager of a car rental, would have no problem upgrading a rental with its higher insurance and for which you are responsible for because a guy happened to have a walnut in his pocket , which he used in an obviously fake trick Would you really do that? Does this show actually think we were born yesterday? or do they really think that if a guy has a walnut, which you never got to examine, means that you are obligated to pay up out of your own pocket? Absolutely idiotic
the producers of this show dont realize the actual response to being cheated is to get mad and try to seek restitution and revenge
I dont think the producers have any idea about the reality of being an employee in America
What a cheap, fake and absolutely stupid show A waste of brain cells watching this
