From an Indian, don't eat Roti/Chapati/Naan with rice. Indian breads are eaten in way where you dip the bread in the curry and eat it. And rice is supposed eat separatly with mixing the curry.

I respect your opinion on how you choose to eat your food but kindly don't limit others from eating how they wish. There are no 'indian rules' saying we need to eat them separately lol.
As one myself, I like to eat my naan or roti with a potato curry and have rice with the meat curry and it's amazing. You can eat them separately but don't pretend you're giving eating advice when it's a personal preference 😂

These "holes in the wall" often don't spend money on advertising or a fancy establishment, instead focusing on quality ingredients and love of the cooking craft. its called dosa(though-saa) and sambhar. you never use fork and knife even though you can. you break the crepe with your hand, pick up the masala filling with your hand and eat it. Dipping in the chutney or sambhar is optional still with your hand. spoons can be used for the sambhar and chutney

I have to say this... I love spices, I'm Peruvian, i live in Italy, my partner is Chinese, our kids love food so I like to cook for them, before trying to make some indian food at home, i was sure i had enough spices between my cooking culture, the one of my partner, the local one and some other asian too (japanese and Korean), i was so wrong... My chicken curry push me to buy lot's more and, sadistic as i am, making my own curry forced me to buy more 😂 👌
It has been a year and a half since our chicken curry is part of our weekly menu, so good, so tasty, hard to make if u aren't use to lots of ingredients but, worth it, now i just put everything in order and cook, the side dishes are so so good, veggies are so tasty that kids just love them❤ samosas, naan, both simple one or with something inside... So good and yeah, there are lots of similarities with latin cuisine, the basic at home are tomatoes, onions, garlic, pepper, cummin, just the basic and the coriander, we, in Perù, love coriander.

As a blue eyed blonde I once worked in a friend's Indian restaurant as a hostess. I really enjoyed their sense of humour as the customers would joke that I was the world's palest Indian and the kitchen crew would always make my staff meal marked "white girl weak" - because I couldn't handle the spices and the customers would teach me Punjabi and Hindi pronunciations of dishes.
The chef barely spoke a word of English but he went out of his way to teach me how to use a tandoor oven and make the base sauces so I could cook these dishes for my husband.
Fun fact however: Tikka masala is actually British. 👌

I feel like this isn’t a fair comparison though. He went to the same Mexican market for breakfast, lunch and dinner but went to a different market for each meal in the Indian restaurant. If you want to compare market food, he should’ve gone to one Indian market for breakfast, lunch and dinner and compared taste/freshness etc. to the Mexican one. It’s giving low key “let’s make Mexicans look bad” vibes.
