Amazing job balancing directing traffic and calling on the fly changes, playing your part, thinking ahead and feeling what’s happening in the service. A solid MD is a gift and you’re doing everything I would need in a MD to keep the train headed in the right direction together.
You do a very good job staying present with the band, the congregation and the person leading the song, but an even better job staying present to God and ministering to His heart at the same time. You’re so anointed and a great leader yourself! Keep up the amazing work!
thank you so much! I used my phone to record the video and then I got the steams from our live stream, mixed the audio separately and then synced video + audio!!
I get the importance of a MD but, I'd remove my IEM if someone would constantly be talking in my ear. What's the point of practicing if you make on the fly changes? Practice what you wanna play Sounds sick tho don't get me wrong. I just don't like hearing voices 👀🫣💀😂
sometimes its helpful. all depends on context. most of the time an MD is used to keep everyone on the same page or for spontaneous. for example, the Bethel team (which is all volunteer) gets their setlist on Friday for a Sunday service and then has a small practice Sunday morning. they are all excepted to know the songs well before they've even been selected because they are always pulling from a "master list", but because of keeping things spontaneous and flowy, as well as limited full band run through they use an MD thats normally paid and on staff to help keep everyone together. that was a long explanation for, its all about context. I'd bet it's similar for her church.
yesss, the musicians do know the progressions! but as the MD I like calling some progressions to help to keep everyone always on the same page, specially with new songs. Also, a lot of times we change progressions on the spot for example: the 1/5 4/6 that we added before the instrumental that wasn’t planned during rehearsal!

Your musicians don't know their progressions?
