I would like Taido organization to give acknowledgement they are using the African art of Kipura via Capoeira. Dont just act like you invented those moves that you added to your Karate in 1965 while Kipura has beed around before all other martial arts. RESEARCH: 1) full Documentary: French and Brazilian capoierstists go to African to find the Roots. This proves everything. Notice at 11:20 how the African bro says and shows it is an African Martial art named Morengue which was the fighting style of the rooster. ruclips.net/video/nnFZqji8OiY/видео.html . Many versions for it (as all martial arts) but kipura was the root in Central west Africa. 33:50 Ogun is the god of Kipura 2) This Congo Government website states what Kipura is www.congo-autrement.com/page/congo-sports/le-sport-de-nos-ancetres-binkindu-libanda-kabobo-mokato.html?fbclid=IwAR3tfcTagsHJqeE9UR1dOAXtzuNe8YJK9y8048qYwLNgfBYEcuMtEozHuEY 3)This book (p18) Shows the Arrest record and origin of the early Capoieristas books.google.com/books?id=47bVbCRcEJ4C&pg=PT43&lpg=PT43&dq=kipura+wrestling&source=bl&ots=wWAgPq3UAZ&sig=ACfU3U26cAigap-ESF9-S_aoRbGGTW3eFA&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiF-LzE9P7jAhVKi1QKHU1YAa0Q6AEwF3oECAgQAQ#v=twopage&q=kipura%20wrestling&f=false 4) This DocuDrama is a accurate depiction: ruclips.net/video/G09RaiyUbuU/видео.html
I dosent think so-... Capoeira "born" ~1932, when Mestre Bimba open his own school, and make his own style, Regional. But until 1970-80, no one knows, what capoeira is, in Europe or Asia. The first Taido school open in the '50s, so dosent have really big chance, to copy. And a lot of movements debute in oldschool karate, but in the present, a lot of banned from the tournaments. So, i think, Mestre Bimba maybe use 1-2 techniques from oldschool karate, to make his own style more competitive, just like bjj use 1-2 moves from judo. But oldschool capoeira (angola), dosent looks like Taido.
