"Summer talk" was for some reason absolutely hilarious. I can't quite figure out if it's because I know what he's talking about because it's relatable, or if it's just something that happens in movies.
homestar is full of that. little things about growing up that you have literally never thought about twice, and can't really pin down, and may have never actually hadplened to you, but which resonate tremendously. Wet Knee Gumption Club did it REALLY hard. I got all these memories of definitely doing exactly that as a kid.
Something is also really fun and hilarious about Homestar using that 'mumbly bored teen voice'. Saying things like "this one time man?....man, man. Busted his head!" is far more quotable and hilarious due to simple fact that it's HIS particular voice saying it. I still every now and again use that dialogue bit in conversations!

The Brothers Chaps are underappreciated geniuses: The humor in these toons is timeless--they'll still be funny in 100 years. And the jokes are clean without being weak or boring. I'm all for "adult" humor and dirty jokes 😈 But one does get the feeling that clean humor is a dying art, and for comedy writers these days, going blue is the default setting rather than something you add sparingly... The humor in H*R is sharp, witty, and intelligent without having to resort to profanity or obscene references...yet it is never self-righteous. It doesn't disdain "mature" humor, it simply has no need of it.

That heat wave must be scrambling up everyone pretty bad. Also nice to see more development between Coach Z and Bubs. You think they’d be two sides of the same coin but really Bubs holds the same contempt towards Coach Z as everyone else.
