It's great that robot looking prosthetics are becoming acceptable. Functionality is the most important factor. However, I do understand that sometimes you might not want the attention.
If I ever get a prosthetic limb, i dont want it to look creepy and manequin-like, I would much rather have the full futuristic machine design. it is way cooler IMO
IKR!? It falls right in the uncanny valley for me. With the regular ones peoples brains will be able to tell what's going on and you'll probably get _LESS_ stares.
Who would give thumb down to this , I just started crying when I saw all these thumbs down , I hope for the people who gave thumbs down are really proud of themselves
Actually religion has helped advance science vastly in the early days of humanity because we were interested in how a supreme being made it all happen. Of course, it probably would have happened without religion anyway, but it's stupid to say religion held back science in any way shape or form.
Mothers could donate the umbilical cord of their children that aren't aborted, as far as I know that works just as well, and again as far as I know the only complaint to stem cell research is using an aborted fetus or something like that.
Scanning the residual makes for exact modelling no pressure unlike plaster. I would be interested if reverse scanning can produce a more life like result, that's if you are not already doing that. I am a dental tech we use similar technology, thanks for posting this.
I'd have to agree that technology is remarkable and wonderful and all that jazz...but all of that technology to replicate a human leg! That means our mechanical structure as human beings are even more remarkable, don't cha think? Boy, are we humans special =]
Sorry, but no "modern" posthesis is really fully reliable - and they are expensive. The best and most comfortable leg prosthesis is and will remain the good old peg leg, or the long "stubby" leg.
My cousin accidentally shot himself in the calf and hit his femoral artery. He lived in a small town and had to be airlifted to Charlotte North Carolina. He lost his leg below the kneecap. He has a artificial leg! It was $60,000 and it's cool. It can be locked into several positions depending on what and where he's walking. He can lock it into place for going upstairs! Technology is so high tech that years ago. He's fixing to get a leg that's $85,000. It will make his gate better since he's developed a limp. He's donating his old one so someone can have it that can't afford one. They'll have to tweak it for the next person! He can run, hike, ride a motorcycle, hunt, fish and drive his truck. He has to look like camo since he's a ol country boy. He pretty much does everything he did before just with a prosthetic leg. It might take a little bit to do things but he gets it done! 🤗☺️💖
Sorry. Please please.
This might sound weird, but If I lost a limb I would never get a synthetic skin over it. Just seems kind of creepy to me. I would rather have the beautiful machinery showing off.
I dunno I have hear different things. But it can't be denied that some studies have been halted due to religious influence. I am just saying that they have slow down progress in some areas of science. I am not going to argue anymore on the subject I am sorry if this has offended you and if you wish I will remove the comment. I was simply stating my opinion.

A weird skin-like appearance will absolutely draw way more attention. Uncanny Valley is strong.
Idk why but I saw this part 0:22 in school and I burst out laughing.
This is way cool! Thanks for the upload! My mother has a prosthetic leg and I've seen a bunch but it's cool to see how their put together! :D
dubai artificial limbs making center
It's sad how in most countries this wouldn't be available like most of the prosthetic legs
Interesting look behind the scenes. The technology is remarkable!
I should convince my dad to get one that looks like the terminator's leg!
I tried to convince mine to take an old one and paint it to look like a pirate's wood leg, but wasn't that into it ^^
I would wear it without the skin.
I do... :)
Yh I’ve opted for the same had skin on my real leg may aswell have a different look now

They should really have a prosthetic engineer and prosthetist narrate, bit like reading the news about a subject you know about.
