Good job, nice setup. I will be embarking on a similar journey. Still trying to decide how to get my wife's buy in. Good choice with the MEVO+. I have spent countless hours reading and watching videos on every golf sim on the market and for the money, there is no better option. It's accuracy is on par with other sims in that price range, and it's the only one in that price range that has 6 full high res courses to play right out of the box, no extra cost. Good luck and keep uploading.
Thanks, it has changed slightly since this video. But for me it has been so fun and worth it. Selling the better half was a challenge... some other house projects got green lit in the process. She also using the screen projector & area as her workout area and we watch football on it when we host games. (Incoming shameless plug) Give 24/7 golf a look 247.golf/discount/BirdiesBogeysBeers and promo code BBBGOLF will save you $250 on a package if it works for your space. Appreciate the comment, cheers!
I really appreciate you making this video. I am just starting my golf studio and some of the quotes I am being given are just silly. I have decided to buy everything myself and then have my much smarter friends install the tech for me. So glad your other half is understanding like mine. Good luck with the golf. Cheers. Roger from England.
Of course! It can seem slightly overwhelming, but just having a plan and managing your expectations is really just the main thing... much like golf itself. Cheers!
Thanks for the input. Stupid question......the cable that connects the HDMI to the phone....what is the other connection on that dongle and what do you use it for? Thanks.
Gonna watch a few more of your videos. Fully expect to see a black eye on the next one. I've been thinking about a simulator for about two years now and I'm still in the planning stage. Nice setup man. Well executed. Where'd you have to take the wife on vacation to get her to agree to this?
Haha, thanks for the comment Jim. The deal was she got her new outdoor patio. There is a lot that goes into designing your sim. I’m planning to do a “basic planning video” soon but feel free to hit me on IG if you have any questions: bbbgolfer. Cheers!
Sure! It’s basically just a Velcro piece that attaches to the edge of the impact screen and then the side panel. Pretty effective, I have a small gap at the very top just due to poor planning, but it actually allowed me to be able to pass my upper net bungee through. Cheers!
Good video I am In The process of doing this now it’s been a lot of work I had to insulate and sheet rock the garage and the prices are definitely adding up I did not even keep track of my budget I really should have gone with the retractable screen
Congrats on your sim journey! The retractable screens are nice. We actually end up leaving the main one down most the time though. The better half uses it and the turf area for her workouts. Thanks for the comment!
it was nice seeing how you used your space. thanks for the amazon links i've been looking at BenQ. I have a GC3 with the netreturn 7x7 coming in this week but will be adding full sim srceen in near future. have to earn more $$... Best of luck swing hard
Do lob shots or high loft wedges hit the ceiling netting way before the screen with the 13ft ball to screen? And if so, does the radar have any issues if it hits the ceiling net first? (as it wouldn't have 13ft of flight). I'm currently planning my setup and wondering whether it's worth trying to go for the Indoor 13ft mode rather than Short Indoor (10ft ball to screen). Thanks in advance! Enjoying your videos.
If I'm hitting above my pitching wedge (so 45 degree and up) I will typically put the ball about 12 inches closer to the screen. So it technically has less ball flight but will hit into the net MOST of the time... haha... there's been some mishits... As far as the radar / reads I feel it still reads it pretty accurately despite impacting the net. Nothing to the extent where I felt it was totally wrong. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Haha, the dust has settled... but for record-keeping purposes I will continue to state; she is an amazing woman. Thanks for the comment and support. Cheers!
I've been flopping around from video to video to get an idea what I want to do in my garage I have to tell you this video is extremely entertaining your personality is outstanding good luck in the future I'm definitely a subscriber keep up the great work
I'm hurting myself watching all these Golf Sim videos and I want so badly to start building one. Except my double doors detached garage is not insulated nor finished the interior.. I have to prioritise but damn I wanna start golfing hahah great vid mate. Thanks for the infos.
Not sure what the weather is like for you, but seriously... check out GSPro with a Garmin R10. You can probably get to swinging for much less than my setup. You would just need a mat & net. Thanks for the comment, cheers!
I would get some tire indents in the foam and turf where it was parked on the landing turf. They would eventually return to basically normal when I had the sim up. Never had an issue driving over the hitting mat as well. Cheers!
@@GolfOnTap I’d love to keep my mats out too. But I live in the northeast and worried about tracking snow and dirt into the bay in the winter. Have you experienced the mats getting dirty due to the car rolling over it? Thanks!
@@TheEugenelee13 Honestly, no. However, if I didn't NEED the two cars in the garage then I wouldn't park on top of it. Outside of that, a nice vacuum ever so often has kept it looking pretty fresh and tidy. Cheers!
Very nicely done! I have the same Par2Pro retractable screen and it’s great. How did you go about the netting to protect the top bar? I’ve had 1 come back, but also have wedges rolling up over the top bar to the other side, so this looks like a good fix. Thanks!
I did film me putting it together, but haven't done anything with the footage. Basically, I bought 5' x 10' golf netting (was around $40USD) and then zip tied it in half to a 2.5' x 10' piece. The "top" of the net I have 3 carabiners that clip on to some d-rings, which are 2' back from the screen. You can see it a bit at 0:58. Then I just bungee cord back the bottom corners to the rear wall. I just pulled it to the angle I wanted and found a stud in the area for the d-rings again. Hope that helps! Cheers!
@@GolfOnTap thanks so much! Sounds like I’ve got a project for next weekend. BTW, TGC2019 is really fun as long as you have a strong WiFi connection. Cheers!
Not much of an issue anymore. Previously I needed to park two cars in the garage at times… now just down to one. Thankfully never had that issue though. Cheers!
Was wondering about the putting turf you have in front of the screen for the ball landing area. You have a awesome setup. Going to do something like it. One other question. Why mevo + over skytrack?
Lol, the look on your face while saying all the prices is all too familiar. We all have something. My wife wasn't too happy when she found out I put $2,000 into a free phone game (Clash of Clans). Oh well, life is short. Do what makes you happy 👍🏻
Haha, the car lives outside most of the time and there is still space inside to park one car to the right. I usually move it out side if I’m swinging also. Cheers!
Thumbs up for the organized hockey gear
🤙 Cheers dude. I need to get on the ice more. Been a long time.

Thanks for sharing. Wondering if you could elaborate on how the side panels are attached to the the screen to prevent balls from getting through.

What size screen are you using?
The screen was a “sportscreen retractable” 10 feet wide and 8 feet 6 inches high.

The rolldown side nets are amazing. I can't find that system on the site you linked to. Can you help me find it?

$8,400 for a personal golf simulator that your wife’s car is parked on top of 90% of the time? AW HELL NAW!!!
