I started my micro loc journey on 2/4/2024. It’s short but I’m trusting the process. I almost gave myself a headache trying to shake my locs! 😂

Thank You! I definitely have 4c hair which that has been a benefit when they started to thicken up

Your locs are beautiful. I just started mine 6/13/24. I was told no water or oils for the next 6 weeks so it won’t unravel but I don’t think I can do that because my hair gets so dry. I went against the advice and just spray water only no oil and yes the twist started to unravel. How do I moisturize it without unraveling? This is the biggest issue for me right now 😭

Well honestly I’ll tell you what I did that works. I had relaxer on the end when starting them so I had that issue also to deal with. However what I did once they were done, I took a small amount of sea salt in a water bottle and sprayed on my hair right before I shampooed it the first time. For me that helped to rough them up just enough that they didn’t unravel when I shampooed them. (A hairdresser trick) I retightened them often as need I. The infancy stage until they didn’t unravel any longer. I’m officially at the 15 month mark and plan to do a video soon on just this topic.
