Thats nothing special, cassettes sound better and last longer than many people think. I have prerecorded cassettes from the 70's that still play as they were new
@@DaXande135 - Same here, I have some 40 and even close to 50 year old tapes that work just fine. It all comes down to whether or not you take good care of them, as well as your tape deck.
@@PkmariO64 Looks like I have already watched one of your cassette rips :D But you're right! When bothering with analogue media you always have to take care and service your playback device as well as your playback media.
@@DaXande135 Cassettes dating all the way back to late 60's actually sound decent today. It's a marvelous invention to be honest. Vynil is vynil, but let's be honest, you don't actually usually carry a vynil record player around when you're going on a trip somewhere. Tape cassette is a solution for this - it is of a compact size, which is ideal for transportations and it is ideal for travelling. You have discmans that can play CDs and are mobile, but there is a chance that it will skip the CD, scratch it, or worse it may damage or dislocate the laser lense (making it not function properly - that's what actually happened to my DVD burner in my laptop when I accidentally dropped it in a bus - it wasn't on, so HDD was pretty fine, but DVD burner didn't work after that). That just won't happen to a cassette. Both CDs and cassettes are outdated now, replaced by streaming services and/or downloaded music on a USB stick - MP3 portable compact player is still considered a USB stick, because it is essentially the same storage media as conventional USB sticks, just has some more buttons, its own battery, earphones output and a display and controller giving it a function to play the audio media stored on it - but you can store pretty much anything on it. It doesn't have any moving parts, which is always a plus for travelling. Though, I still consider cassettes a marvelous invention because cassettes were somewhat revolutionary. You could store data on it, you could record your favourite music, and you could also use it to record voice (dictaphones). Music and other audio signals were analogue, which if used proper tape and proper equipment, you could make it sound really good.
This track sounds wonderful. I hope it gets discovered and solved. As a music producer myself it makes me very sad to see artists put so much work into their stuff only for their works to become lost and unremembered
Just listening to this song today and reading some comments. The thing I noticed is people not knowing if the singer is german or english. Then this came up and the number played before is The Golden Earrings, a dutch band. A singer that sounds both german and english could be dutch, that kinda makes sense. Also if this the oroginal playlist, as a dj it makes sense to play 2 dutch songs one after the other as you want to link the songs. Or one song reminds you of another, or maybe its from the same source. From my experience, there is always some connection between songs on a playlist. My 1 cent of input.
You can clearly see that the beginning was cut off / theres no fade in, not even a little bit. Im an audio engineer myself and the beginning looks just so strange.
Vincentus well maybe the guy only started the recording after it started. He said that he didn’t record the radio DJ and is very annoyed at himself for not doing so
Next time you go to your brothers house can you please to a direct rip from the Cassette players line out? That would give us a higher quality version and we could probably hear more detailed version. Thank you!
It doesn't look like it was recorded from the radio at all. The songs start smoothly and end smoothly, with no overdubbed radio station jingles or DJ fills. There is also no clicking sound, which was typical on magnetic tape, when the record button was pressed each time at the end of the previous song in order to record the next one. It looks very much like it was re-recorded from some other source.

что если он написан именно в ГДР?
Does anyone know the model of that Yamaha cassette player? I can't read it very well.
