  • A brief description of how I built an open sailing canoe by morfing an old canoe and a likewise shaggy optimist dinghy.
    En kort beskrivning av hur jag byggde en segelkanot av en gammal kanadensare-kanot och en likaledes murken optimistjolle.

    Fiberglass canoes are the best for modifications. One can put almost any type of rig on them. Great video and a good job.

    No leeboard? How well does it go upwind?

    • @FantomsNephew
      @FantomsNephew  2 года назад +2

      Quite well, since there is a CENTERboard!😁 I used all gear from the Optimist, including the daggerboard. Convinient and effectice, but does not fold upp when running aground.😬

    • @FantomsNephew
      @FantomsNephew  Год назад +1

      Thanks! I don’t remember exactly, but I would say the wind was about 10knots that day, at least in the end of the clip.😊

    Got any more videos of you sailing. How well does your drop keel work. I plan on building a sailing canoe either a drop keel similar to yours

      @FantomsNephew  Год назад +2

      Thanx! Drop keel/daggerboard works fine, and I use it now and then for better stability when paddling aswell! A minor disadvantage is that it does not fold up if/when its not enough depth…🤔😃
