Just absolutely heart broken after listening to this one.

An incredible tragedy that is hard to fathom. Her daughter is pure resilience. Her husband has my deepest sympathy. I hope that wolf is haunted every time he closes his eyes.
I'm sorry, but he isn't. He still genuinely believes he did nothing wrong, the only silver lining is that he desperately wants to die instead of spending life in prison, and he knows he's not going anywhere. At least that is a constant source of discomfort for him.
This is the worst Halloween story I’ve ever heard. First time I read about it some years ago I was basically traumatized. The sight her husband came home to, the fear he went through not knowing where his daughter was, being arrested and questioned while covered in his wife’s blood, the grief… It’s incredible that he was even standing up on his own after this. And Deanna, such a resilient little human. ❤😢 I’m filled with awe for how they got each other through all of this.
It's hard to not be messed up listening to the terror of a family.... How Doreen tried to stay civil with her ex husband despite his increasing craziness only to be destroyed by him. It's just evil. I'm glad Deana and Charles didn't meet their demise that night. I enjoyed the "You're an asshole" speech towards the end, it's something that needed to be said. One other thing, what I like about your narration is how even when you state your opinion, the timing and frequency is always right. 🤖🎶

I was attacked by an ex while I was pregnant and the instinct to protect your unborn baby results in curling into your body to protect your stomach. I found that listening to the description of her wounds on her back are especially heartbreaking. She was desperately trying to protect her baby but had to know it was hopeless. 😭😭
I was curious about the injuries to her back, since it seemed like a frontal attack that never allowed her to turn and run - but I've also never been pregnant. I wish you didn't have the insight you do, but thank you so much for sharing here; it adds even more heartbreaking nuance to an already-horrific crime scene. I hope your abuser is/was in prison, and you and the child are safe!
I’m so sorry this happened to you. My God, your comment made me tear up a little. I hope you don’t suffer over the memories of that and you have a good life now, take care.
My life is good now. I’m happily married to my childhood crush. The child I was pregnant with at the time is a healthy, happy 16 year old. It’s truly a blessing because she went so long without oxygen while her father strangled me, the doctors assumed she’d have cerebral palsy. I was told she’d never take a step, never say her name. She’s a straight A honor roll student in her Junior year at an extremely challenging bioengineering program and she’s on track to be the valedictorian of her graduating class. Her father never did a day in jail for what he did to me although he did some time later for threatening me (but only because he mouthed off to a cop) generational abuse is a chain & someone has to break the cycle. 💪🏻
This was- I can’t find the words to express how hard it was to listen to this story. Don’t get me wrong, I Love & Respect your channel & will continue to support it. The crime itself and the events leading up to it… even the trial. Ripped my heart out. 30 mins was all I could do. I hope Deanna has been able to live a productive life and find some level of healing. I wish the same for her dad. Rest well her mama and brothers.
But what until the end, in all his episodes - the victim got their justice and I believe with him living in jail - he is thinking and having to deal with what he has done. Divine intervention on dear lord's part by not having him executed. He will never get out.
This marks the second case on this channel that I struggled to get through without crying. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of hate you'd have to have for a person to do what he did to Doreen and her unborn child. Its repulsive. I hope Deana and Charles were able to heal to any degree from what happened to them.
22:00 trying so hard to finish but just heartbroken at how horrible it was for charles to be detained while probably just wanting to comfort his daughter. My heart just aches and you can’t help but cry.
Thank you for covering lesser-known cases that the other true crime channels don't all cover! I appreciate all of your time and efforts in creating these videos. Even when you cover cases that are more well known, you add so many more details to the stories that most people likely didn't know, and the way you tell the stories makes everything so interesting, like a good book that you can't put down. Your channel is the first true crime channel I really started following, (I follow a ton of true crime channels now) and you are still one of my favorites. As far as this case, this one was definitely one of the more tragic cases you've covered!!! How absolutely horrific. I am soo glad that Diana was unharmed and that her dad at least still has her. I can't even imagine the pain he must have been in, not only to lose both of then, but to have witnessed such a gruesome scene!!! I hope they are both doing okay now.

"Not Always" is wrong and pretty sick in the head, but this person is about as correct as every other abortion supporter including the moron who made this video. If you are disgusted with the destruction of the unborn baby, the intentions of the parents are of no matter. If you, like the idiot who responded to you, don't acknowledge a baby's humanity, then it doesn't matter what the parents intentions are anyways.
@Not_Always have you ever been to medical school? If so, you would know that babies start thinking things en utero in the third trimester. They can recognize their mothers voices, have music preferences, get uncomfortable and have dreams.
I'm an RN. The 15 year anniversary of when I became a nurse just passed in August. My nursing specialty is hospice which is the only way I'd ever work with peds because of family dynamics common with that specialty. Can't handle it. But hearing the way you described the death of this not yet born baby, in light of every thing I've seen...as I've worked in forensic psych and correctional nursing as well,. Was extremely difficult. God bless his brave, beautiful mama and his brother and the rest of the victims' family. But god bless you too for retelling that insanely disturbing story with so much dignity and respect. You're incredible.
You’re a good man. Thanks for doing what you do and for saying the things you say. Your honesty, integrity, and sensitivity make you a rarity on this platform, and sadly, an increasing rarity in this world. And though I’ve said it before, I knew all that I needed to know about you the very first time that I saw your inclusion of the hotline information at the end of your videos. Keep doing your thing, you are very appreciated.
He also detests anything to do with Christianity, or any other religion for that matter and ALWAYS dismisses any value it may have.......and refuses to draw any link between homosexuality, pedophilia and the explicit role those two life choices play on one another and the crimes they commit. "good man" is grifting off of the tragedy of others and is usually a revamped story from some one else.
@@nodaysoff2358 riiiiiighttt because we know how there hasn’t been any connection shown between multiple Christian organisations and abuse of children /S….poor attempt at deflection. This channel has incredible humanity and empathy for victims of crimes and works to help the most vulnerable.

Wow. This was a heavy one. It's like he let his son's death all consume him. He blamed her for everything that happened. I guess when she became pregnant for a second time, with another boy, he felt she was replacing their son that had died and snapped. Not excusable or forgivable either way. He's a monster, no doubt about it. What her and her unborn child went through was absolutely horrific. Thank you for sharing this case with us.
@@virginiaarthur5 I completely agree with you there. She should have fixed the fence after the dog had drowned. I didn't understand why that wasn't done, esp having such a young child around. It was like just waiting for something bad to happen.

I am glad they didn't let that guy live in their headspace rent free. This is by far one of the most horrifying ones I've ever seen. Thank you Jiles for showing such great content.
The number of killers trying to blame their crimes on "mah depression!" is astonishing. You know what I have never seen as a symptom of depression? "Feelings of murderous rage." Usually it's "can't get out of bed" and "Can't get self to do anything".
Dont paint every depressed person with the same brush. Have you never heard of people having manic episodes? Or the term 'manic depression"? Methinks not.
@@Not_Always I have in fact! Enough to know they don't call it "manic depression" anymore, it is now bipolar disorder. Which is not clinically the same diagnosis as "depression". As psych.net says, "Bipolar disorder, formerly called "manic depression" has periods of mania; depression does not.". According to the information Jiles presented, Mike had "depression" not "bipolar disorder". If you look up the symptoms of clinical depression, "mania" is not listed as one of them. Look, I get it, as I wrote the OP, I totally did think, "Not everyone with depression is the same." But as someone with clinical depression, I find it insulting to hear killers use specifically clinical depression as an excuse for their crimes. Because in my experience and everyone else's experiences I know who also has clinical depression, our main issue is literally having the energy and will to do anything. And if that is not your experience, cool. I acknowledge not everyone with a clinical depression diagnosis is going to exhibit symptoms the same.
@@JBrodo You dont know what Mike had, as his diagnosis was not a clinical one. I also don't care what they choose to call it now as the function is still the same. Just because you have chronic depression doesn't mean you can speak for every single depressed person in the history of mankind.
Depression is far more likely to result in self-harm. This guy's just using that as a dodge. He may well have other mental issues, but depression ain't to blame here.
I agree. The people I've seen with depression weren't interested in doing anything and nothing could have motivated enough to do anything. They weren't interested by anyone else either and couldn't care less about their partner. Even less their ex.
I've been following this channel for over a year now. I look forward to every episode and welcome the verbose narration. I appreciate the effort that goes into each and every episode.

I listened to this on my walk to school, and if any passersby saw me, they saw a lot of facial contortion. From the moment of Mike knocking on the door to the knowledge that Doreen still had a pulse when authorities arrived, I was in utter disbelief. In true piece of shit fashion, Mike avoided culpability insofar as he could. Charles and Deana are beautiful people, and I'm heartbroken that they lost their mother and baby boy to this horrible waste of space. But to hear them say "he hasn't conquered us", I must say, absolutely floored me. The world is lucky to have people like them in it. A good job as always, and may I say I especially appreciated you taking the time to anticipate and vehemently discourage rotten comments about abortion. What a great channel. Thanks for your hard work.
Nah. Murdering a child isn’t justified just because “but but, they WANTED to kill baby! So it’s different!”. It’s not different. Abortions are horrific procedures where the child is literally cut apart in a similar fashion to the child in this story. The little limbs are snipped off, an instrument is used to crush the skull. It’s literally a procedure where a tiny little human baby is hacked to pieces. The consent of the mother doesn’t magically make this ghoulish act into something more honorable.
Another one , not mad but bad And very bad Chopping up an unborn baby ? Nasty Again as you said, nota story for the anti abortionsts to hijack , this creep was pure evil with his own evil agenda
As many others have said, there are no words to describe the feelings I went through while listening to this story recounting the brutal way Mike handled his anger. I also suffer from depression and PTSD but I haven't gone out and killed anyone. Such a sick bastard.
Depression is a terrible illness, I can feel sorry for him prior to becoming a murderer. People with depression don't hurt other's, they're more likely to hurt themselves, or at least suffer silently. I hope you find relief from your depression and PTSD.

@blooshkin OK... so, did that make the baby a human. Do the emotions of parents magically confer life unto the baby in the womb? A baby in the womb is a baby if the parents love it, but if the parents don't love it, it has to escape the womb before it becomes alive? Or can it still be killed after exiting the womb like Carl Sagan and that Virginia governor and that attempted Democrat federal law said?
Completely agree, as someone with depression, so many people now have depression, yet we are not all murderers, if anything we are more of a danger to ourself. He did not kill because of depression, he killed out entitlement and selfishness.

This story had made me cry, that poor women and children. That sweet little girl who survived. Love and prayers to her and her father
This was hard. Poor Doreen. Poor baby. The daughter. Her Husband! I can't even find words to describe that monster.
Pregnant rn and that sounds so distressing to me….I’m so sorry you had to go through that.
Im so sorry you went through that.
You have a big heart - Bless!!

Horrible, but necessary, not just to potentially protect others but to protect HIM from potentially killing himself.
I can't even process the description of the wounds.. this one is going to stick with me:(
Thank you for covering lesser-known cases that the other true crime channels don't all cover!

Well said! As a father of two beautiful little girls this makes my skin crawl it’s true to the name. This man is nothing but a monster. Never have I watched a video and immediately went to a moment of silence.
Poor baby Deanna I cannot imagine the trauma she must have felt and still deals with today. I hope that she is ok.
This is by far the most heartbreaking and gut wrenching. I just can't fathom. I just wonder what the officers felt going in there and seeing all that.

You have my total respect for your comment on ppl comparing this to an abortion... You're are so right 👍💯
