Welcome to the PHILIPPINES' Two Mad vloggers. We hope you enjoy your stay here and feel the warmth and friendly welcome from our countrymen (kababayan). Keep safe and GOD BLESS BOTH OF YOU, BEAUTIFUL COUPLE.
I am very grateful to this couple in promoting our Filipino culture, being kind, humble, friendly, hospitable. Hope you continue to love the Philippines..... God bless and Mabuhay!
You can speak Tagalog in different parts of Philippines, they're understand...you can speak English too....whatever suits you. Filipinos are very diverse 🤭 welcome to Pilipinas and enjoy ur stay!
Not everybody can understand tagalog. I am from Negros and nobody speak taglog in the island. People will laugh at you and make fun of you if you speak Tagalog. I dont know where you get this idea that everybody speak or understand Tagalog. To us, it is a foreign concept. People in my region speak Hiligaynon or Cebuano. Above all, we speak English more than Tagalog. We are not Northerners.
@@migovasquez0303 just curious, I learned tagalog in school though, because of Filipino subject..you don't have this subject?? I read tagalog books and novels, we also have tagalog tv shows, movies etc. My mother tongue is waray (coz I'm from Tacloban City) but I speak and understand tagalog. So I assumed everyone in the Philippines, atleast those who went to school (unless you studied or is currently studying in an international school) can speak and understand tagalog.
@@dlyelicious5781 You speak and understand Tagalog. Is Tagalog the language use in Tacloban. Nobody speaks Tagalog in Negros. People would not even entertain you if you speak Tagalog. Tagalog is only seen and heard on tv but the lengua Franca of Negros is Hiligaynon. No such thing as Tagalog subject. Filipino yes. They’re two opposing terms.
@@migovasquez0303 Yes , tagalog is used especially if you don't speak waray because not everyone knows the dialect or comfortable speaking in English (anywhere in the world if this is not your first language unless you grew up using it). Filipino is a subject but taught in tagalog language as far as I know. I have a lot of friends/colleagues from Iloilo & Capiz and other parts of Negros and we communicated in tagalog at first to understand each other because we are working in Cebu where they speak Cebuano. After few years we learned the dialect and we use it now to communicate. This is something I need to ask them because my mind was blown after reading your comment😅Maybe I'm wrong and has assumed for more than 30years of my existence😅..but did you study in the Philippines?
That's old Manila.M.Manila has 16 business districts like Aseana, Ayala center, Circuit Makati, Rockwell, Newport city, Greenhills, Ortigas center, greenfield district, C5 corridor, Eastwood City, Araneta center, Triangle park, BGC, McKinley hill, Arca south, and Alabang. These are the business districts that you can visit while you're in Manila. Old Manila of course the museums.
Welcome Explorers. Watching you guys explore Manila and how you guys try to interact with the locals, very much appreciated by all. As you experience, some locals tried to speak english, but the saying go "having nosebleed". Anyway, enjoy and try some authentic local foods. God bless
I'm a new subscriber as of today. I enjoy watching your videos. For foreigners like you, who have been in the Philippines first time and a few days, you pronounced the Tagalog or Filipino words very well already. As a trivia, the Philippines' first language is Filipino and the second language is English. The Philippines has over 100 dialects, either spoken & written or only spoken. Tagalog is actually one of the dialects. Many people, even Filipinos, thought Tagalog is the first language but it's actually Filipino. Tagalog is like Old English while Filipino is like Modern English.
@@TwoMadExplorersYou're welcome! Your videos inspire to visit and explore my country more now that I'm fully retired. My family left the Philippines for the U.S. when I was 13 yrs old back in the late 1970s. In fact, I'll be visiting the Philippines this Feb-Apr. Try to visit Corregidor & Bataan, which are small islands but rich in history & culture. My paternal grandpa and uncle were POWs and survivors of the Bataan Death March in WWII. My dad and his siblings were born in Corregidor. Have fun in the Philippines!

The official language is Filipino, which is same term to refer to the person (nationality). When referring to the language, it's mix of mainly Tagalog (the common dialect), and some words from English/Spanish and other dialects too. You may get by learning Tagalog dialect first, as when you go to Cebu, they will hear and understand it. But when you do so, it's no different in speaking English as they will know you're outsiders. Once you get comfortable, you may start learning the other dialects when you intend to stay for long, say a month in Cebu, it's good to learn more Bisaya dialect... and so on..
Simple tagalog words: what is your name/Anong pangalan mo, Where are you going/Saan ka pupunta, How much is this/Magkano ito, what do you call this/Ano ang tawag dito, How do we go there/Paano kami pupunta duon, Thank you/ Salamat, Good morning/ Magandang Umaga, Good Afternoon/Magandang Hapon, Good Evening/Magandang Gabi, Hello how are you/Hello kamusta ka. Rice/Kanin What's the menu/Ano ang ulam nyo, Food/Pagkain. Hope both of you enjoy staying in Manila/Philippines.
