The filming of EMPIRES took place late at night, after a busy day of filming in five different locations. The band ended up at the ruins of Katzrin Synagogue and used projectors to display images over them while they performed. In the background, an army was heard practicing with machine guns, adding to the chaotic atmosphere. Joel led the performance of the song, giving it a unique touch.
I love Joel's voice. It brings the love of God alive. Feeling the love and tenderness of Jesus through His horrific sacrifice for us. Beautiful!!

My friends are having the time of their lives, I saw them getting saved and God blessing them abundantly and I was extremely happy to see them experiencing the Lord but I feel so discouraged myself because as they are enjoying God, my circumstances are repulsing me from Him. God is amazing, He's the best that could ever happen to me but my soul is so aching right now... You are still God in my pain!!

you should listen to the song 'Even when it hurts' by hillsong.. I can assure you that God loves you and knows why he is allowing you go through whatever you are going through, so even when it hurts just keep praising him
In pain do 2 things (it works): 1 smile (even if there is no real reason to do it) and surrender to God; 2 remember He loves you, your situation has a purpose.
I hope you keep the faith Sir! I am also experiencing a very tough journey that I've even had the gut to tell God that I doubt Him :( sometimes it really gets that hard. But instead of leaving me to the pain I'm suffering, those were the days that God was so eager to save me and He did. God is good, He calls us His children. He understands us to the smallest bit. Did anyone read the description? If not, I totally recommended doing so. It gives quite a whole new meaning to the movement that they are doing, aswell as this video.

I usually do not read descriptions but, when I saw "street called mercy" video from this same album and read that music's description, I started to read all hillsong descriptions.

This is my favorite recording of this song. I like that Joel is singing the lyrics he wrote. And the sound is great. Jad is great, but the album version had stuff it didn't need. A voice & these lyrics deserve to stand out.
I like the acoustic recording in the Nashville Café with Jad's vocals, but the recording here is something special.

My Heart
For most of my life I tried to fill my heart with things, treasures of this world, shiny objects that would wonder those around me but which were empty of value. The more I accumulated “wealth” the more empty I felt. An emptiness without foundation, an unending bottomless pit of despair.
It is then that I found Christ. He began filling my empty bowels with his love and glory. I still do not understand the infinite and timeliness of my Saviour, however, I have become an open vein of His word.
He cannot reveal His presence in this world as we would no longer require faith but would only be subject to obeisance, slaves rather than loving subjects. Why do we hide from His light? Are we afraid to subject our dark lives and thoughts to His torch of righteousness?
