"Yeah because that's their f***ing job." is the perfect summary of esports. Bravo, Leo! Chet and all those guys complaining about every small inconvenience, sheesh.
2:21:00 i get waht mimi is saying here because while jinggg is arguably the best performing play of last year, his role on PRX is quite replaceable because they have something and f0rsakeN who are also top tier entry duelists and its not going to effect their core playstyle as a team and won't really shift the roles or the jobs of the players on prx. LOUD without aspas though is a more shaky change because aspas was THE entry for Loud and theyre now shifting their teams roles because they dropped him (also losing frod doesnt help)
You've got to love Leo Faria, who is so transparent and thoughtful for the community. While, yes, there are certain things that need to be improved upon, seeing people calling him incompetent over those points, overlooking everything he's done for Valorant is mind-boggling.
Leo Faria made a great point especially when we think abt social media, I forgot that there were plenty of matches that I skipped because I grew bored, It can definitely be spaced out better which will happen with time, however more importantly the point he made about the social media echo chambers, some pros complained and because they complained surely some of their fans complained too regardless of their actual opinion, then when one fan complains their friends will complain etc etc. The hate that riot gets for a lot of their decisions are deserved as long as its from certain parties, like if pro players and friends and families of the guard players got upset then rightfully so, but in a matter of a few days shit blew up to where people were willing to die on this the guard hill ignoring any pre existing reasoning, the same fans probably never watched a guard game and tried to justify it by saying its about the principle, at its simplest, dont mindlessly regurgitate what you consume.
And this is exactly why any semblance of critical thinking is necessary Valorant is filled with 15 year old idiots so just don't take Twitter opinions as truth. Also Chet is just a salty baby, he complains about everything so don't even take his opinions seriously
The only tragic thing of all is that what could have been a potential finals for americas kickoff has to be the first match between two of the best teams
Props to Leo for coming on and giving real answers to tough questions. You can see that he's frustrated in the same way we're frustrated with how things happen and have to have to happen in eSports, it cant be perfect but their trying to make it better year on year.
Honestly Leo is a very good person to be the head of Esports because he knows whats the community wants but he also realises what they actually need and stands for it but is still ready to take criticism where its deserved
Leo is very well spoken and provided some really good answers to tough questions, props to him for getting grilled for an entire hour lol. The point about the amount of matches and scheduling was really insightful
I feel they slept on G2 in the tier list. Its all the players originally from the guard. Back in 2022 the guard was a tier 1 team who looked amazing going into Masters. But then bombed so hard purely because of lack of experience playing at such a high level at an international tournament. Most the players were just getting out of school during that time. Now after climbing out of challengers, and winning your ascension to tier 1 spot, then right after being let go from the team you have been on from the beginning. I feel G2 has such a strong story and have shown constant growth. The latest edition of Leaf from C9 is massive.

Imagine an A-tier team and C-tier team face of in Masters Madrid final; with the A-tier team having beaten 4/5 World Beaters and the C-tier team having beaten 2/5 World Beaters, they both go on to put on one of the best Bo5 finals with the A-tier team winning. While 3 of the world beaters don't even qualify for the tournament and the other 2 go out in the Semi-finals and Finals lower bracket of Masters... That would be crazy... So, so crazy....
My question about Shopify rebellion is if they get into challengers how does that affect MxS? That’s a major conflict of interest to have one org have at least partial control of 2 teams in the same league
I'm a zeta fan and I'm glad that zeta is so highly rated, but it lost to navi by a pretty big margin and even though it didn't have dep, it also lost to c9, so i think it's okay to be at a slightly lower tier. Hiroron and Yuran are still young, so I look forward to their future growth.
35:14 I dont know what Balla is talking about here? like if a team of plats wants to play in an organized system then let them play premier at their level. They still get to experience organized play. If you aren't at least immortal then you have next to 0 chance of becoming pro. So let them climb the ranks to immortal first in order to qualify for challengers. Discussing lowering the rank requirement is a conversation to be had, but I feel like if you really do want to become pro, you'll at least be ascendant 3+.
Yeah Loud lost aspas but they are more flexible this season in terms of role and comps. Similar to EG last season every player can play different role. Tuyz is gonna move back to duelist this season and can play controller on some maps if needed.
There actually isnt really much Americas bias. They have more confidence in the top of Amer vs the other regions, but there are only 4 Amer teams in he top 3 (International Events) tiers, same as EMEA and China, with Pacific having 5 because its harder to determine whos gonna go to the IEs. And if you look at the bottom, there are 14 teams in the bottom 2 (minimum matches played) tiers, and i believe Sideshow mentioned 12 teams would be playing only 12 matches this year, so thats also in line, with 2 of those teams obviously getting at least one win, but theyre not sure which. As confusing as this tier list was at times, i think this was actually a pretty good way of doing it as it mathematically works out with their tier names, its just about how accurate their opinions are :P
