    I blame Jason for not firing Bowles. For not hiring a quality coach 3 years ago when we had the chance and for starting so many unqualified undrafted rookie free agents and players with under 3 years experience.

    • @RamenRube
      @RamenRube 9 дней назад +1

      Agree. His biggest mistake.
      I think this organization wants to be stable - hiring coaches internally, majority of the team are draft picks, etc - but it doesn’t mean that’s always the answer, and he’s neglecting areas where the team can improve.

      @@RamenRube I think Bowles should've been fired after Sunday's disgusting performance. But again, Jason, Bowles, Bruce etc. They're all buddies from their Arizona days and it's probably hard for Jason to make that decision. I just hope they make that decision sooner rather than later, especially with Coen being in the building now, he should seamlessly step in and build from there.

    Jason Licht hasn't done a single thing to address the injuries or defensive shortcomings this year. In fact, he has not signed a notable player since June. There were players available that could have helped fill some of the holes. Especially on defense. He hasn't done a single thing. His biggest defensive free agent signing was Randy Freakin' Gregory.

  • @by-jim

    You nailed it today, James. With the injuries, we can't expect the offense to score 40 points every game. Unfortunately, the days of keeping the opponents to under 17 points are over for now. Todd Bowles can't make up for missed tackles, blown coverage, and inability to rush the passer. You can only fix so much in the draft, so the front office needs to get creative and focus more on defense.

    • @urusledge

Not going out and adding veteran presence on the defensive of side before that second Atlanta game was absolutely insane to me!? Nobody could really foresee the mass of injuries. everybody was clapping when he kept the band together and now he is to blame? Hm... I think Bowles has a huge problem with time management and winning games. With a more aggressive coach we could have won 2-3 more games.

    This is everything I've been screaming all off-season and thru this season. Everything you said is all facts. Licht hasn't drafted and/or signed good enough players to provide quality depth. Add to that the fact that Bowles and the coaching staff can't develop players. All that equals this teams. Good enough to beat a good team when the stars align but can't be consistent.
    The Bucs should rebuild. Get trade the really good aging vets, hire an offensive HC and look for a QB in the draft. Trying to keep this "Superbowl roster" together with tape and elmers glue isn't working. The best players are getting older and are injured and the young players aren't really good except for a few.
    This team needs a whole new identity.

    I really like Gaines actually. He's a borderline starter in my opinion. He's a fantastic backup to Vita. He always looks likes he's giving 110%. He's not as good as Vita, but he can stir up some trouble in the interior. Braswell looks totally lost out there. I was watching him last game and I saw a couple of plays where it was obvious that he didn't know what he was supposed to do pre-snap. On one play, the other guys were trying to tell him his assignment but the ball got snapped in the middle of it and he rushed the passer late, effectively nullifying it.

    The Bucs have been dealing with a tight salary cap since Brady signing. The fact that all those players you mentioned were found throughout the draft speaks highly of the job the front office has done with limited budget.
    No doubt the Bucs can go out and spend millions on Veteran pass rusher for which there is no guarantee he will perform at the same level as his previous season or may get injured.
    I like they way they don't mortgage the Bucs future by bringing expensive veterans players.
    The Bucs have been plague with injuries and under performance of key players which is not Jason Licht fault..
    The Bucs could easy been dominating there division if wasn't because injuries and bunch of defensive key players are under performing and failing to execute properly.
    Skills coaches are the one to be blame, players and then Bowles for the lack of defense in this team.

    • @davidrobinson3154
      @davidrobinson3154 8 дней назад

      Skill coaches maybe. I'm looking at the OLB coach particularly, we should offer that to Barrett.
      You have to look at when the team did good in draft/FA (Brady) and where they've done well (DB picks) and you realize he's not really responsible for most of the good, and then you look at what we passed on in the draft/FA/our own damn roster even and you'll see where the fire Licht crowd is coming from

    The only good defensive player the FO scored a homerun on is Tykee smith. Now they have udfa guys on defense that are lost in coverage. This 100% falls on the GM and coaching staff not providing solid depth and making moves in the trade.

  • @leroywiggins8271
    @leroywiggins8271 9 дней назад

    I think it’s deeper with Todd at first. I thought the fanbase didn’t like him because he’s the face on the sideline that they see now I see this season that it may be deeper. I’m not gonna go race, but it seems to be deeper. Sean McVay is a good head coach and his team is injured and he’s under 500 look at Bill Belichick last years in New England. They didn’t win that many games look at Mike Tomlin after big Ben left. He was 500 for like three seasons. Coaches need talent to win football games. I think Todd should get some credit for having his team play as hard as they do, even though the Bucs are not talented on defense or offense at all. he lost both his starting wide receivers and both his starting cornerbacks. How do you expect the coach to win with that and the GM is at fault as well he put this roster together knowing it wasn’t talented or deep enough.

    When we let DW and CD3 go without serious backup we sealed the season. We Lost Dean and we had no CB for replacement. KJ Britt could not handle the ILB job and Dennis is out and LVD is 35. Whitehead has not preformed and AWJ is having an off season. We have no OLBs, JTS and Yaya are backups at best. The Only Players on D this year are Kancey, Smith, Vea and Zyon. That's 4 players in 11 is it any wonder are Defense is the worst in the NFL

  • @lessQQmorepewpeww
    @lessQQmorepewpeww 9 дней назад

    No, he's not. This team had depth and it's not the problem. The problems are the star players and the coaches who failed to turn first and second round draft picks into stars. Yaya, JTS, Logan Hall, these were all college dawgs and prime NFL prospects. The failure to coach these dudes into skilled athletic freaks year after year is the real crime.
    Heading into this year we picked up Bryce Hall and Whitehead to be veteran depth pieces. JD and ZM were your starting corners with a plethora of young rookies backing the veterans. That's good depth. You can't build a roster that has veteran/skilled depth to the 4th or 5th guy at every position. We lost Hall game one and JD not long after. This forced rookies to fill those roles full time. We lost Dennis early on, who was clearly the starting LB and were forced into playing Britt and now Russel. You cannot expect these back ups to be world beaters, otherwise they wouldn't be back ups. Yeah, our defense sucks, but man they are also down to the bare bones here.
    Coaching sucks too. You got these guys playing so scared they refuse to play man even when they're supposed to. Yeah, they're rookies, but our vets are also in the wrong place at the wrong time and no one is ever near the ball to make a play. AWJ has heavily regressed, LVD has slowed down, and our only pass rush comes from the interior of the line. The defense is weak all over, but it's not because of depth or lack of skill. Our best players are playing bad and our rookies are being rookies.
    The offense is a perfect example of how good coaching can influence young players and make something out of nothing. There's no excuse for Todd and his defensive staff not being able to come up with a working solution with the current players we have. The zones are clearly not working and they're scared to play man coverage. We're getting beat all over the field and nothing is changing. We're playing 10 yards off the ball against a team who needs a field goal to win and giving them 5+ yard underneath routes. We're dropping linemen into coverage and disguising looks and it's not fooling anyone but our own guys. It's too complex or it's not taught effectively, but this defense is a complete break down of scheme and coaching.
    And most of our loses still come down to the disgusting coaching decisions to extend games and trust the defense. First Falcons game, we get the LVD pick and have 40 seconds left. Instead of just playing to win and putting your best players on the field and using your best plays, you run it safe up the middle to run the clock twice and waste 2 downs. Screw time outs or burning clock and just play to win. 10 seconds left or 10 minutes left, every set of downs should be a touch down mindset. I can stomach not getting a touchdown and losing or turning it over on downs giving it to our best players, but not this. Second Falcons game we play for OT, same shit. Chiefs game we play for OT, same shit. 49ers game we play for OT, same shit. You run it twice up the middle again using our worst running back to burn the clock. Just score a touch down bro. Go pony, put our best backs in and use our best running play if you're going to run. Plan for 4 downs and win or lose it right there. Never ever again put your fate in the hands of the other team.
    These next 7 games are must win games. I don't want to see any trust in the defense or any lame ass play calling. Play to win and either win it or lose it by your hands.

    I think Jason Licht has a very tough job. Every arm chair GM has an opinion about all moves and non moves. In my opinion Bowles and the coaches are failing this team and it’s making Licht look bad. Player development is a coaching issue not a GM issue. Bowles needs to retire or get fired at the end of the year. 47-64 is not getting it done he is not a good coach.
