    How to get students quiet? For any age? These are my top techniques!
    And always remember our job isn’t “sit down, shut up.” Our job is to give students the confidence to stand up and speak up! 🙂
    Do share with any teachers who might need it 🙂
    Be genki,
    Richard
    P.S. Average teachers say “This won’t work in my class” or “I’ve tried that.” Great teachers (that’s you!) say “Wow, these are great, I’m going to try them. Even if I’ve tried them before, I’m going to try again!”

      That's what the follow up "cheer" one is for - for the kids who've had far too much sugar :)

      We usually say it works 99% of the time (there's that *one* class where you have to bring in bigger tricks :) ) but yeah, test it all, let us know how it goes and enjoy!

    Do these methods work with middle schoolers?
    I'd give just about ANYTHING for a way to get the 7th graders I teach to be quiet that doesn't involve yelling!

    • @GenkiJapanNet
      @GenkiJapanNet  Год назад +1

      Yep, combine them with "The Agreement" technique and they work amazingly well with 7th graders! Good luck!!!

    how do you tell them at first though? like when you say "class" they have to say "yes", or when you clap your hands and they follow clapping hands?
    really need a lil bit more explanation 🙏🏻

    • @GenkiJapanNet
      @GenkiJapanNet  2 года назад +1

      Hello! The easiest way is to just tell them what to do :) Or if you can't do that then just mime it out, if you've already built up the rapport with them they figure it out very quickly! Give it a try and see :)
